I have to say that I am so Happy I walked into Inkestry a week ago. My sister and I walked in knowing what we wanted with pictures in our hands. Humming Birds and flowers in memory of our Grandmother. We were introduced to Matt. A brilliant artist, I was blown away by his work. After telling him what we were looking for and where on our bodies we wanted our new ink, he asked us to give him a week to draw something up for us. We also placed a $100 deposit to secure our appointment and drawings. Needless to say the drawing Matt drew up for both of us was AMAZING and my sister went in 6.10.2011 and got hers and came out with a HUGE smile. I couldn't wait to get mine done on Saturday 6.11.2011. He changed the coloring on the bird for me and gave me a sunflower instead of a hibiscus flower like my sister. Matt made me feel very comfortable and kept the conversation flowing. I had also mentioned when my sister was getting her tattoo when I heard Metallica come on that he could play Metallica the whole time I was getting mine done and I would be a happy camper. I really was just joking but, I was impressed he remembered that little detail and he did just that for me. Metallica ROCKED on for over two hours. I have a lot of work I want done on my leg and Matt will be doing all the work. I can't wait to go back in 6 weeks and have more work done. After we reached a stopping point he cleaned up my leg and wrapped it. Also giving me tattoo lotion to put on during the day with a list of care instructions of what not to do for two weeks. So I walked into another not-to-be-named tattoo shop in Livermore and walked out within 5 minutes because I wanted more than a stamp. I had read other reviews of Inkestry on here and decided to head over there. Hayley asked me what I was interested in and recommended Kenny since I wanted script (see profile picture). He walked in and actually spent time thinking about what I wanted. Kenny really is an artist and put time in to make sure he had it right. (I also messed up towards the end of the tattoo and told him the numbers backwards which he fixed like a pro!) Also, while Kenny was drawing out the design, Hayley saw I had old adhesive on my car window and gave me cleaner that could actually get it off and even helped me. She is super nice and makes Inkestry a comfortable place to walk into. Next time I want any ink or piercings, I know exactly where I'll go. read more

Danielle is an EXTRAORDINARILY TALENTED and GIFTED tattoo artist. My daughter went to Inkestry this past weekend for a very special tattoo (it was for her 18th birthday and not just of any tattoo). She is thoroughly ecstatic about having this QUALITY of work permanently displayed and is VERY proud to be able to show it off. We are very impressed and pleased with the courtesy and respect shown to us whenever we come in. Inkestry is a very clean and classy shop - very professional - the other artists are top-notch (with the exception of Mo, who is in a class of his own and words do NOT do him justice when trying to describe him and his work). I got my first-ever tattoo done by Shannon aka "Mo' Better" and I could not have asked for a better experience. The shop is extremely clean and Shannon is very professional - not to mention a great artist!! He took a design that I came up with and made it look amazing! He was very open to talking with me about my ideas and giving his professional input. Not to mention the relaxed atmosphere. Everyone there is really friendly and the set-up for his tattoo room is great. I would, and have already, recommended this shop to anyone that talks about getting a tattoo. I went to Inkestry for earlobe piercings and was disappointed with my visit. The piercer was very blunt and impatient, which made me feel anxious and uncomfortable. He said my existing piercings looked irritated from the metal, so he refused to do the new piercings, even though the tissue seemed fine to me. I was also asked to pay $30 for aftercare advice that I felt should have been included. Overall, it felt like a waste of money and time. While the front desk staff was friendly, I would recommend that others consider going somewhere else for a better experience. read more

Been up there a few times, and loved it. My girlfriend and I refuse to go anywhere else but Inkestry. I have been other places, but haven't found a better locatoin yet. I went to Redd and he was real coo. He did a pretty big ambigram tattoo on my arm, and I love it. Everyone there actually has skills. The shop is EXTREMELY CLEAN (health), and everyone is friendly. It is a good location, and easy to get to. Prices are real good for the work you have done. Guaranteed you won't find better artist out in the bay. I plan on going back very soon to have more work done. read more

I will never go anywhere else...this is the place to go. I walked in with an idea of what I wanted but still wasn't completely sure. The guy I talked to was very knowledgeable about body types, about which figures would look good on my body and color schemes!!! I was so impressed. I'm extremely satisfied with my tattoo. I showed my sisters nd they all got the same family symbols on them. We love goin to here. Plus they are family oriented and have a very funny environment...good music playing. Soo for Facebook 40 i went in and i got a piercing and a tattoo! i got my lip pierced. I LOVED THE PIERCER!! He was amazing! Then I got a tattoo from Glory! He freehanded my tattoo and it turned out AMAZING! out of all of my tatttos this is the best one BY FAR! The shop was spotless even after having an outrages amounts of people in their shop. It is much more professionally presented then most other tattoo shops and it is private.I would tell any person who is interested in getting a piercing or tattoo to go to their shop!! read more

6/18/2011 at inkestry was awesome...the turnout for facebook 40 was a success...i was their half the day..met amazing people, and watched alot of my family memebers get tattoos!! i got inked up by glory and gotta say he hooked me up!! freehand tats are the best and especially the one i got!!! again i thank all the artists...all their hardwork and dedication showed so much...ill be going back for more!! and mark....mr boss man...thanks for putting up the shop and having amazing artists!! great work everyone!!!! read more

I went to get my second tattoo done at Inkestry in October. Redd did such an great job on my first tattoo I went back. I only have Redd do my tatts. Redd is great at what he does, when i got my first tatt I knew what I wanted but needed more ideas and Redd helped me out. The People who work at Inkestry help you out, if your not sure what you want they make suggestions and make sure that you are very satisfied with your tattoo(s). Mo is probably the best tattoo artist in the bay and the nicest one as well. Normally he has a two year, yes you read it correctly TWO YEAR waiting period. After my daughter died he came in just for me to give me a consult for a memorial tattoo and shuffled his schedule around to get my tattoo done. He did the first one on my daughter and it will be a memory I cherish forever. Now I got hooked again and working on a great coverup piece for my 30 year old upper arm tattoo. read more

Yesterdays session was my longest tattoo session yet (about three hours) and I swear it went by the fastest; I spent half the time laughing and listening to some awesome oldies! I had my tattoo originally done abroad- it was "ok" but I wasn't happy with some of the lines on the wings. I went to Redd and apart from calming me down with humor when I was sweating with nerves (I hate needles AND this was my first tattoo) , he did such a great job of taking it to how I pictured it to be!! Redd has done three of my tattoos, all great work! He always takes his time to get my design exactly how I want it. I started going to him when he was at another shop in Hayward, but continued when they moved to their new shop in Livermore. The shop is legit, everything is new and comfortable. I went to get my first tattoo with Glory. I was nervous and excited at the same time. i showed him my design and he came out with something that i loved. Through the process i was in pain but i was so surprised on how it turned out. Only thing is its a bit bigger then i thought it was going to be. Ill grow into it. overall awesome place! read more

I ended up going back for a new tatt shortly after because he did such a great job (patient, listened to what I wanted, available when I needed to book). Went in with somewhat of an idea for my tattoo. MATT is THE MAN! He came up with a Tat that was even better than the two pics that I brought in. I love my new tattoo. Lots of vibrant color.
