I don't have enough great things to say about this shop. Jr. Is one of the most talented best tattoo artist there is. From booking the appointment to the sit down and design was amazing. He is a true master at portraits and can do anything else. His work speaks volumes , I want to book a session with his dad just to see how the story all started from in a sense. Went here yesterday for an appointment with Paco. He did a coverup of a tattoo I wasn't really feeling anymore. The coverup was about 4 hours. Paco made me feel really comfortable and was very conversing which helped since I am extremely ticklish. He worked with me even when I gave home slim to no ideas of what I wanted lol I really appreciate that. The finished product is amazing. You can't even tell there used to be a dark tattoo there! Today was my 3rd visit in the past 2 months and I've left happy every time. I haven't gotten a tattoo in almost 10 years. But I decided it was time to get some more. This place seemed to get pretty good reviews so I gave it a shot. I just walked in after work and met Paco and he was super chill. I think he was just the only guy available at the time. In retrospect, I'm glad that's how it turned out haha He did a couple of very small pieces that sitting and I was very happy with how they turned out. I came back a few days and put a deposit down for another larger piece. I guess the first visit was just me being lucky and coming on a day when he wasn't busy because my appointment wasn't for another week or so. That's fine I wasn't in any rush to get this work done. My 2nd visit went well too. Lasted about 2 hours or so including sitting and figuring out exactly what this piece would look like. Once we got everything finalized the work was a breeze. My most recent visit lasted about 4 hours I think? Maybe 5. I can't remember exactly. But I definitely didn't expect it to be that long. Had to take a few breaks LOL But again, left happy. I definitely recommend this shop. I've only had work done by Paco but the other guys seem good too. I'm not sure if their prices are fair or not but each time I've gone I felt my money was well spent. Bring cash if you don't want to pay the credit card fee haha read more

The entire.experience from when I first called and was told to come on down without an appointment to mediatating during the seven hour experience and actually falling asleep while he created these awesome tattoos made the experience unforgetable. Been seeing Marcos Adame for about 8 yrs. I first started seeing Marcos when they were first in Hayward & followed them when they moved to Tracy. They have been very nice & professional ever single time ive came in. I know my ink will look clean & perfect. I got 4 tattoos from Fabian. All good tattoos and they price by the hour usually. You're paying for quality there and I planned on getting a tattoo from Marcos who fuckin kills it but joined the navy and moved. Great shop all the way around and if you want a quality piece go to the shop and actually spend the money. Bitching about price is stupid, these pieces of art don't go away and I still get compliments on the pieces from Fabian till this day. Overall great shop really professional and proud people. Just finished my 5th tattoo with Eddy Sr, this one is a portrait of my mother and I am beyond happy with how it turned out, it was more than I could've ever expected it to be. It is truly amazing of how he transformed her picture with such detail into a tattoo. I am happy with all my tats but this one is pretty special to me. I love this shop because of the fact they love what they do and if you look at all the photos on Instagram it's pretty apparent they are all pretty amazing artists. Reviews of SSW in yelp were good, I went in spoke to Paco, couple weeks later he had the design, so we booked the appointment. He applied the stencil but I didn't like it on so he worked to change it but I still didnt like it. In the end I changed the entire design and in a couple hours he had a new one done and ready to go (Simple text writing on my upper arm). The end design is better than I could have hoped, looks great, exactly what I wanted. I had a simple trible tattoo 10+ years ago at another shop in Tracy. It was ok but the artist went too deep with the needle and its badly scarred, so I was nervous to get another. Not anymore, Paco is superb, I'm even thinking about another one (sorry Paco) :) The guys in the shop are super polite, the place is clean and whilst I was there, the clients ranged from all walks of life so if you're nervous about getting a tattoo, or wonder where is a good place to go, these are the guys to go see. So I was referred to come here by a friend, I had booked an appointment months in advance with Marcos. Initially after talking to him and letting him know I was friends with a friend of his he told me he would charge me by the piece instead of hourly which was all great. Months pass by and I travelled about 2 hours from the east bay to get to his shop and upon arrival he tells me it'll now be hourly and that I'm lying about the whole hourly thing. So you know what, I said whatever that's fine. I give him all my ideas and he than takes his super sweet time to only come back and say let's do something else as the portrait I had was not possible because of the shadowing and poor quality of the picture which I may remind you is the only photo I had of my grandfather left (he also said if any artist says they can ink that portrait they are lying to you). So we end up doing some flowers on both my shoulders. We completed one side and my other shoulder is only an outline which he said we'd need to book another appointment for and this whole experience cost me $1,200. I'm all about spending good money for quality work but this guy is not the top upper echelon or artist to be charging that kind of money well at least for some flowers on my shoulders- I should say shoulder since he only really completed one side. I actually wasn't even going to do a review on this but I ended up finding an artist in Oakland that not only did my grandfathers portrait in amazing quality but it literally only cost me $350. My opinion about this guy is he has talent but he's definitely very overhyped and overpriced and extremely rude. Do your research people and you'll find a much better artist for almost half what this guy charges. I would never return to this shop and I would recommend anyone reading this review to also think otherwise. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!!! read more

Humm, let's see here. All the guys that work here do some pretty incredible work. I had walked in on a Friday evening and was greeted by Dixon, this guy is freakin' awesome! He seriously took his time on my piece that I wanted, was clean and thorough. The tattoo turned out amazing and I will definitely come back to see him again for another tattoo! I have an appointment booked on Saturday with Paco for a Disney tattoo and I can't wait! I recommend if you are looking to get a fairly medium to large tattoo to book an appointment ahead of time. Secret Sidewalk is the best! I discovered them through friends when they were in Hayward and I happily followed them to Tracy. I've gotten other tattoos by other "artists" and it doesn't even compare to this shops work. Marcos Adame has done all of my tattoos and I wouldn't let anyone else touch me! He is an extremely talented individual that takes his art very seriously (he also paints etc). He takes his time with his clients and is a true perfectionist. He's very accommodating, friendly, and makes you feel right at home. He does beautiful script by hand and amazing black and grey work! I highly recommend him! Also, Eddy Reyes is well known in the tattoo world. He did my husband's sleeve and it is beautiful. You can't go wrong with either of these two! I have a few tattoos that I have gotten from a number of places but I've never really found a place that made me think "I can't wait to come back for my next one" and I got that here. The guys that work here are awesome and are extremely talented. I got tattooed by Carlos Perez (a guest artist) but I got the opportunity to watch a few of the other guys tattoo while I was there. In the 4 hours I was there I was treated with nothing but respect. Not to mention that the time flew by because of the chit chat and the way they really make you feel welcome there! We heard about the Secret Sidewalk Tattoo shop via word of mouth. My wife had been searching for an artist that did animal/ pet portraits. Upon walking in we immediately noticed the artwork on the walls and the cleanliness of the shop. We asked if there was a chance one of the artists did pet portraits, having asked this same question at other shops and being turned away. One of the shops artists pointed to another artist, who introduced himself as Marcos Adame. We talked with Marcos for a short time and asked that we bring in some of our favorite photos of my wife's pet Yorkie and he could draw it up and meet with us later in the week. When we came back and saw his intended art my wife loved the work he had drawn up. Having made an appointment Marcos asked we wait a couple minutes while he set up his station. The music was awesome as was the atmosphere. Marcos made my wife comfortable for the tattoo. She said his touch was smooth and light handed. About 3-3 1/2 hours later she walked out with the most awesome portrait tattoo of her little man, a male Yorkie she's had for 15 years. I lived in Hayward about two years ago and randomly stopped in at Secret Sidewalk to checkout the artists' portfolios. Marcos Adame's roses first caught my eye, and as I watched the work he posted on Facebook over the last two years I decided he's my guy! I'm big on watching and making sure that an artist is consistent! And Marcos is! Many artists out there unfortunately are not :( When I decided to get my parents' portraits a while back, I started researching portrait artists and man it's tough to find someone who really gets it right! So... I called up Marcos and we scheduled two appointments for March & April! Even though I have seen tons of amazing portraits he has done, I was still completely blown away when I got mine! I was shocked by the detail he was able to incorporate & that he works so quickly! He captured every little detail from the shading, to the different values in the eyes, to the hilights on my mom's pearls & the awesomeness of my dad's james-dean-do! He's CRAZY TALENTED and really awesome to work with. He's very knowledgeable and picks up on the little things you're looking for. I told him some ideas for these tattoos, and he came up with an even better idea that incorporates everything I want - he totally gets it! I also found his attitude really refreshing - I've never worked with or met a more humble artist who really appreciates and truly enjoys the fact that you love his work so much! I went in to the shop to see Marcos based off the work he did on my friend. I told him a rough idea of what I wanted and when I came in to see the sketch I was blown away. I was even more amazed when my piece was finished because the shading is amazing and he brought so much life to it. He even stayed after hours to finish my work when we had a schedule conflict!
