I am not very consistent about leaving reviews for vendors that I use for real estate transactions. I feel like Ink Inspections is so exceptional, that I really need to take a moment to leave a review. I'm a real estate broker in Seattle and came across Paul from Ink Inspections at one of my listings two+ years ago. He was doing a pre-inspection for a buyer (she ended up buying the property) and I was so impressed with his thoroughness that I took notice. I watched him interact with this particular buyer and he was quite good. He found problems with the house, which I wasn't so happy about (I represented the seller) but his ability to explain a problem in a comprehensive, easy to understand way was the best I have seen. When we purchased our home in Oak Harbor, Paul came out and did our inspection. We had done another one prior on the house with another company but were left unsatisfied. We had Paul inspect our future home and we're so glad that we did! We were so worried about the state of the future home purchase since it wasn't a new build. I called on Sunday evening to schedule a pre-inspection for Monday evening. Paul was extremely accommodating for the last-minute request. For a 2-hour verbal pre-inspection, the cost was $250. When my husband and I arrived at the scheduled time, Paul had already inspected most of the exterior (including the roof, sidings, yard, etc.). He asked us how much we knew about houses in the area, and was able to tailor his answers to our level of experience. He was able to answer all of our questions and seemed very knowledgeable about the area as well as houses built in the early 1900s. He was very meticulous going through the interiors, crawling in all the spaces, checking every outlet, etc. He also has experience with renovations and construction. He was really knowledgeable about renovation costs and potential renovation solutions to solve some of the problems we had with the house. It was very reassuring to have a better idea of the renovation costs on the house before making an offer. Although we didn't get the house, we definitely plan to be return customers. read more

I have been through a few inspectors in my home-purchasing lifetime. We had a pre-inspection on a potential home purchase done by Paul Ryan. It was very last-minute and he came in ready to rock! You could tell right away that he loves his job, he was very passionate and high energy. Did a very thorough inspection with very little notice. Great service!

I arrived at the house a few minutes early and Paul was already on the roof. He quickly came down the ladder to inform me of what he had found so far. Paul was very punctual, polite, and knowledgeable. He thoroughly checked every part of the house from the deepest depths of the crawlspace to the upper reaches of the attic. He crawled into extremely tight places, and these were the spots where most of the issues with the house were found. If I had used another inspector who might not have been willing to get into these spaces, I may have purchased a house that had a lot of hidden issues. I won't go into the details of what was found, but this inspection saved me 10s of thousands of dollars in repairs. I've had several inspections over the past decade and this was my best experience by far. Save yourself money and keep yourself healthy and make sure you use a great inspector, like Paul! read more
