If you don't live close enough to check in on your project daily, do not use them! Scott Hampton, the "project manager" did not check on the people doing the labor. Luckily my friend was able to check for us and keep us abreast of all the major screw ups daily. Unfortunately, my friend had no way to know that they installed 2 floors of the wrong wood! At one point, Scott had us come from Fl. to Whidbey for a meeting with all of the sub contractors, but never told them about it! We sold our home in Fl. and moved everything, including three vehicles and three cats here based on the final closing date he gave us. When we arrived, we were told that the house wasn't ready, leaving us homeless with three cats for 2 weeks. We had to pay for a hotel, and to store our cars and furniture for two weeks costing a small fortune No apologies, nothing. Every day when I look at my gouged out wood floor in my kitchen, caused by them, it reminds me of how horrible it was to be treated like crap by Scott Hampton and this company.

We have owned and sold several homes and know that having a home inspection is an absolute…read morenecessity when you're making one of the biggest purchases in your life. As we were new to the area, we did a lot of research on home inspectors and ended up hiring Keven at True North Home Inspections. Keven is extremely professional, thorough, and most importantly, unbiased. During the inspection, he used some pretty advanced tools (FLIR cameras, moisture meter, gas detector, etc.) and found a way to inspect almost every single nook and cranny, donning full coveralls for the crawl space inspection. He is keenly observant and caught many issues that most home inspectors might not find. His reports are detail-oriented and include multi-media videos/photos (you can actually see the report in progress on his tablet during the inspection), which we found to be an extremely valuable tool when we were negotiating with the sellers. On top of that, Keven clearly has a passion for the industry - he continuously educates himself in the field and even trains other home inspectors. Already reasonably priced (prices are listed on the company's site), the advice he provided was above and beyond a typical inspection and we felt were worth every penny - we ended up hiring Keven 4 times in 8 months!

Having reviewed this company's report, I have had several different licensed contractors look at…read morethe report and then attempt to verify and or repair the True North Home Inspection recommendations for repairs. This inspection report proved beyond any shadow of doubt that the inspection was conducted by a incompetent, uninformed person that either never read the the written code books or did not understand what the code books were stating. As such it cost the seller thousands of dollars to prove the useless condemnations that the inspection falsely stated. Human error is always possible and understandable but gross negligence and a vivid lack of understanding what the code states and how it is applied is criminal. I would suggest that one hires competent qualified professionals to complete a knowledgeable competent home inspection
