We highly recommend Caliber Home Inspections for potential buyers. Darin was prompt in responding to our request for a quote, very communicative and flexible when we were setting up the appointment and was very easy to work with through the entire process. The inspection report was done very well and was extremely thorough, with clear photos for each point. His attention to detail impressed us and we know from friends' stories of other inspectors, you don't always get such quality work. The report was well organized and well detailed and will benefit us in our to do list as we go forward in our new home! read more

Caliber did the inspection on the home I purchased earlier this year and missed huge problems that I am now paying the price for. I was told there was water in the crawl space that could be fixed with a sump pump. This was not true. The problem needed a comprehensive drainage system to be resolved. I was told the roof was in good shape and all that needed to be fixed was cracked vents. Now, I have learned there are shingles falling off, the adhesive is failing, there is organic growth on the underlay and in the attic, nails are popping out. I could go on, but the roof needs to be replaced. I would not have purchased this house if I had known about these problems 6 months ago. Whatever you do, use another inspector. read more

In this housing market it is key to getting home inspection quickly. We needed someone and we needed someone very quick. At 8 o'clock at night Darin was so quick to respond to my Yelp request. I was on the phone scheduling with him within an hour... AT 8 O'CLOCK AT NIGHT. This already blew me away. Now, I don't know if it was a fluke or just how he operates all the time but it was impressive. I had heard previously that home inspections in Bellingham are a joke, and not to expect much. But with my husband being there, I can tell you that Darin is no joke. He arrived on time as scheduled. He moved through the house with a fine tooth comb. In about 3 hours on about 1700 square feet plus a basement, Darin was done and was able to point out the bigger items to my husband. The rest of the report came later that day via email. The report was well organized and well written. I am very glad I picked Caliber to do our home inspection, especially as first time home buyers, I feel more confident in our purchase than before! read more

Wow, this was a home inspection!!! Darin was incredibly thorough and professional. We recently used another home inspector for a friend who was out of town and we were there for her inspection. She paid quite a bit more, and didn't get half the inspection that Darin gave us. He was so competent in his knowledge, explaining to us what he found and what the fix would be! He covered every inch of the house and took pictures of everything. We wouldn't consider ever using anyone else after this experience. This is the 4th home inspection we have been through, and this was so superior to every other that we have ever had. Excellent job and all done with a great personality! Thanks Darin!! read more

I needed a professional inspection checked off on my to-do list for purchasing my very first home. I emailed Darin, and not only was his price affordable and fair, but he was able to schedule me for an inspection within 3 days. Darin was prompt and courteous. He began the inspection by taking a series of pictures outside of the house. I highly recommend going through the home inspection with Darin to see and hear all of the great advice he has to offer. His report was clear and easily understood for a lay person like me. Darin is extremely personable and professional. It was truly a pleasure working with him. I highly recommend Darin and his company. read more

I won't take the time to repeat what other Realtors and buyers have said because that would be redundant, but true. Darin's service, attention to detail, patience, professionalism, and flexibility are second to none. His reports are full and complete, and he kindly answers any questions the agent or buyer may have after reviewing the report. Agents--you want him on your team. Home buyers--don't settle for less. read more

As a Realtor who values giving First Class Service to my clients, I'm extremely happy with Darin and Caliber Home Inspections. My regular inspector was out of town, and I needed an inspector that provided great service for detached homes and condos/townhomes. I have now used Darin on several escrows, and referred him to over a half dozen agents and friends in the short, two months that I've known him. His rates are very competitive, and his inspections are extremely thorough. Showing the client pictures of the inspection on his iPad at the end is a great touch to help them understand what maintenance and/or repairs the home may need, if any. I'll continue to use Darin's services, and would refer him to anyone looking for an inspector. read more

Messaged to setup a meeting before a set date and Darin was available the next morning. He was the best priced out of anyone for my situation (a one bedroom condo). Professionally inspected the condo finding several things others may not have seen. He emailed the report over the night of and included descriptive pictures and his recommendations. Apart from being on time and being very keen on finding things, he was very personable and easy to communicate with online and in person. Would absolutley recommend to anyone! Thanks again read more

Being first time home buyers we were nervous about the inspection but Darin was very friendly and efficient. He went through everything in detail with us before we left and even gave advice on how to fix some of the issues with the home. We received the detailed and organized report with photos the very same day via email. read more

Darin came highly recommended to is by our realtor and I now know why. Let me start with the one negative comment I can come up with just to prove that he is a real person really. Darin texted us 5 am to see if we wanted to discuss his report. OK let me start with we are buying a home in San Diego and still living in Hawaii. So really its not that big of a deal im not even sure he realized it. So here I go on the list of Pros. After a quick trip to San Diego my husband and I decided on a home in the Allied Gardens Area of San Deigo. We are not from the area and have never bought property in California so we had a list of questions. As I'm sure you can tell from my review already I do go a bit Above and beyond so you can just imagine what it looked like. I was surprised when we recived the report back that he had addressed all and more of my concerns about the home without even being briefed. His report was very detailed with many pictures in different angels so that I could see the issues with out being at the home. He even made himself available to go over every line item of his report with us over the phone. He was easy to work with and very informative about his profession. At the end of our conversation I asked him if it would be OK to contacted him with more questions once we moved into the area to ask about the repairs and upgrades we wanted to make to the home. He said he would be happy to take a call. We are so lucky to have found such a great inspector and are crossing our fingers that the rest of the home buying process is as easy as this was. read more
