It's a true taste of Clarksville, exceptional enough to be included in the Texas Monthly Best of TX BBQ listings. You can't go wrong here with the plate lunches, served hot daily Wednesdays through Fridays. We were here on Tuesday, so we ordered single meat plates that came with a generous portion of smoked meat of your choice, homemade mayonnaise potato salad, Cole slaw, pinto beans, and two slices of ethereally soft white bread to soak up every delicious drop of aside and meat. I had the pork plate, which was a perfect lunch portion of tender, moist, smoky pork butt in thin slices and pulled shreds, swimming in a sweet vinegary sauce. It reminded me of Carolina barbecue, but without the mustard. My husband had the sliced brisket plate, which he enjoyed. The brisket was sliced thin and served hot, with the same tangy sauce and sides. We both cleaned our plates. The restaurant features enough tables to set a good after-church crowd, stocked with pepper vinegar and hot sauce to spice it up - if you dare! The ambiance is homey and family, with several memorials dedicated to "BBQ Man" George Coleman, deliver our master who passed in 2011. 5 Soul of East Texas BBQ stars

If they can't smoke brisket, they wouldn't be in business so for me, it's the sides. That's what made Jojack's special for me. Yes, you can get beans. Everyone has beans. But not everyone offers broccoli salad or sweet bacony Brussels sprouts. Jojack's are delicious! Also, a tip for out-of-towners: the best thing about Texas barbecue is that brisket. I used to try to be "healthy" by ordering smoked chicken and I was always disappointed. If you want chicken, get fried somewhere else. If you want barbecue, get the brisket here (to be fair, the hubs also liked Jojack's sausage options). To be "healthy," I opted for brisket-topped loaded baked potato. The potato was baked perfectly, and even the skin was yummy. I loaded my potato myself at the condiment bar so I got exactly what I wanted (plus some tasty pickled onions AND barbecue sauce!) The decor is cute and clean with corrugated tin accents and lots of eat-in tables. They appeared to be busy at the drive-through so that's an option if you're in a hurry. Servers were friendly and efficient. Oh! And they have a wide selection of bottled beers (for your passengers at least!)
