The grocery store is good but the pharmacy is not. Doctor called in a prescription a day ago and it's still not ready & is a common medicine, nothing exotic. . Store manager would not let us return meat that says sell by the 9th it is currently the ninth. The meat was kept cold and was bought two days before. He was questioning us and said this was too far gone! But why is the sell by day the 9th? You would sell this product in store apparently. He took it from us and didn't give us a refund for it. OMG truly one of the best grocery stores EVER! Super clean and customer service top notch. Their selection of hot foods is honestly the best I've seen. We were in town and Ingles was right down the street from our stay. I had the hot meal Mac and cheese and it had soul!!! Chefs kiss, it was soooo amazing. The entire store is so well kept. Your typical Ingles, lower quality and service than a Public or Kroger, but lower prices as well. The younger (most likely teen) cashier simply stated at me instead of telling me my total and to swipe my card - not sure what the deal was there. Additionally, I was always told by my Grandma to check the sell by dates on the items they sell. as I was checking out, the man in front of me was trying to get his money back for some expired fruit. This was not a pleasant shopping experience. And mostly I think it's just because the store has been neglected. A lot of inventory was out of stock, and the store furnishings felt a little dirty and dusty. The grocery carts' wheels were really squeaky too. Again, maybe they just need a little tlc here. There were a lot of people in the store, at all times. In fact it was busier than every business I visited in this small town!? Right down the street from where we stay in Cashiers! While this isn't our Publix in Florida, it is the next best thing. They have everything you could need, an amazing, and I do mean AMAZING produce section, a large deli and hot bar, a fine meats and seafood section and of course everything else. The folks at the registers are always happy to help if you forget your ingles card. If you don't have one, get one, keep it safe (Especially if you're only up there once a year or so) because that card keeps your prices down. read more

I love Publix and this is as close as you can get. They have a full Starbucks inside with free WiFi and everything else a Publix has. If you can't find it in Ingles, you probably don't need it. BUY THE: house brand Laura Lynn Natural peanut butter. You have to stir it but it has intense flavor and no waxy taste like most brands have. read more

Rude workers. I waited for someone to help in the fish department. Workers saw me waiting, but took time to finally wait on me. I asked when the salmon came in and the response was "It's been here.". Asked another worker where I could find chicken gravy. First he said "What" and I repeated my question. He never once looked at me, just said Aisle 6. Went to check out. No one at the open register. Went to another register with a customer with large order in front of me when I noticed the worker was back at the other opened register. Ingles in Cashiers is bright, clean, and well stocked with a variety of items so it's exactly what you want in a grocery market! They also have a good selection of beer and wine and the pork chops we got from their deli were great. I also recommend their house brand pimento cheese as it's actually made with sharp cheddar (which is what you want) and not Velveeta like some inferior brands use. Enjoy with Triscuits! read more

Good grocery in the Cashier's area. Always busy and bustling during the season. The produce has always been good on my visits and I've found a lot of organic / clean items for my allergy fella. They have a movie rental box in the store for travelers needing one. They also have a well staffed mini Starbucks in house with some baked goods. Cake pops for the win with my kids! Seriously there were 4 employees in that small space so your wait was non-existent when I popped in. I'm sure it can get busy at peak times. An unexpected, pleasant surprise to find such a quality supermarket hidden in Cashiers. We were concerned that we wouldn't be able to find organic half and half for our coffee. Not only do they have organic dairy products, the store has a wide selection of organic/natural foods. Produce is fresh and good quality. We were REALLY impressed by this local market! I was not expecting to find a ton of organic/ clean eating options here given the lack of them elsewhere in Highlands...I was so wrong!! I found things I haven't been able to find at Whole Foods or Sprouts here in progressive Raleigh NC. They had a really generous selection of organic produce, and I even found JustEgg which is a LEGIT egg substitute I've been searching high and low for. This market is the one way we'd be happy to stay in Highlands again...vegan options for us to cook at home, since the restaurants are a bit slow on the uptake in that department. read more

Had a great bulk food selection (packaged the scoop-able nuts.... for safety. This Ingles in Cashiers is a great store, prices aren't always the best but the quality and variety of items are excellent. The summer months and holidays can be a bit hectic and the store gets overly crowded quickly. They also have a pharmacy inside so you can fill your meds while stocking up on your favorite grub. Most of the employees are extremely helpful, some aren't the friendliest and sometimes you just have to smile and try to brighten their day! One of the best items in the store is their homemade guacamole, if you love guacamole I seriously suggest you give theirs a whirl, it's a staple in my house! read more

The customer service manager checked me out and no hello, just do you have a rewards card, not another word the whole time. She looked miserable. This is a fantastic store for a small community and has a selection better than many of the grocery stores in the Charleston SC market area.

Overall great grocery store- if you're heading up to this area for a getaway this is a great place to stock up on your groceries for your stay. They have everything- from boars head meats to pizzas to Starbucks, great wide selection... I will say our cashier was absolutely terrible! She sounded like she hated life or at least her job. We tried to chit chat but it was like pulling teeth and she seemed totally miserable. That leaves a bad taste in your mouth when it's your last impression of the store- haha- but overall, excellent place to stock up!- ps- beware, the ABC store across the street closes at 7pm! Lately, everything is wrong with this store. The produce department is always a mess with produce all over the floor. The produce is not always fresh. Food that is way past due and rotten is left out. Expiration dates need to be checked. The worst thing I experienced was yesterday. I bought a bottle of Laura Lynn Chili sauce. I didn't want the store brand but that is all they had. I poured out the whole bottle in to the cocktail meatballs I was making and out came a large piece of green plastic. It looks like what the seal is on the bottle cap before it is shrink wrapped. Totally disgusting!!! read more
