I pulled off the interstate to try the best Thai restaurant within a hundred miles. I stopped here for lunch between Nashville and Memphis and it was worth it.

They carve the cutest butterflies out of carrots!

What a wonderful addition in Parsons! Authentic Thai food in this tiny community is such a welcome change. What we ordered: Sweet Thai Tea: not too sweet--perfect! I ordered an extra to-go. Papaya Salad: also delicious! Has a bit of a kick, but not too spicy. Shrimp Salad Rolls: four halves come with housemade peanut sauce and a sweet and spicy sauce. You can also choose chicken or tofu. Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles): ordered medium spice with chicken. If you're wanting a bit of spice without sweating, medium is for you! Generous portions and lots of veggies. We even ordered an extra to-go! Pad Thai: this was really the star of the meal! Their sauce is very tamarind-forward and we LOVED IT! Also ordered with chicken and medium spice. Don't skip the pad Thai--it's absolutely the best I've had. Service was wonderful and quick, even with one server and a restaurant full of people at 4:30 on a Monday afternoon. We will absolutely be back, and really hope the community embraces them!

    Catfish platter

This place is great. We got the Catfish platter and the Thai Green Curry for dinner. The catfish is not river fish, which most people around here prefer, but for pond fish it is very good. Their green curry is exceptional. You can get it spiced the way you want it, and it delivers!!! Ask for Carissa, she will take excellent care of you. Don't miss this gem!!!

Fresh flowers, a different assortment on each table. Such an unexpected, beautiful touch

My husband brought me here for his birthday dinner (He'd been a guest, previously, and it was my first time.) Firstly, service: the sweetest servers, who seem to either tag-team tables, or just work together extremely well. Either way, they GOT you. Food...don't even know how to do it justice. I was in the restaurant business for 20 years, much of which in management. I know my food. This is the best Thai food we've both either had. My husband has been to every continent, well-traveled through work. He knows his food, as well : ) It's so good I figured out how to sign into Yelp, and upload some photos, as a public service. I am not an online-type person. I sincerely hope everyone in the vicinity gets to take advantage of this new hotspot. (Ourselves, we drive in from Lexington...made a day of it, going to the park and whatnot.) This was supposed to be his birthday weekend meal, but it is so good that husband is starting to pull Shenanigans: "I want to go back, on the ACTUAL DAY." Twice in one week? YES PLEASE. I posted some photos. Eat your heart out. (Then, go to this gem of a place, eat to heart's content!)

Delicious Pad Thai, friendly service, karaoke, and a full bar! My husband loves their spicy curry and cold beer.

Great Thai food for the area. The online ordering system doesn't reflect the entire menu or specials. I hope they update it in the future.

    Degthai - Fried CRISPY TOFU

For my first visit to Degthai, I ordered the vegan Tiew Gang noodles and it was phenomenal. The…read morebase of vegetable broth mixed with coconut milk was creamy yet not heavy (with a blend of yellow and red curry spices, according to the menu -- sadly I am not that well versed in curries!). The noodles were cooked perfectly, and the tofu was browned to perfection. The grilled broccoli and cauliflower were snappy and contrasted well with the rest of the ingredients. The dish had a spicy yet tolerable kick to it, but I have a very high threshold for spice and heat (I added chili oil to take it up a notch!). Also, the portion size is BIG. I was very hungry so I had no issues finishing most of it, but it could easily be shared between two adults, especially if you order an appetizer or side. I loved the interior decor, which was simple yet eye catching. The mural encompassing the entire space in particular looked really cool. The place was packed, but the friendly staff were hustling to keep the line moving.

The Tiew Gang Vegan is the best version of a Khao-Soi-like curry noodle dish I've had in years…read more Typically Khao Soi dishes can disappoint from being not full-bodied or temperature hot enough, but Degthai's Tiew Gang Vegan is a complex+balanced, complete curry soup noodle bowl full of uniquely satisfying goodness that is seldom found anywhere. The hardest part about eating at Degthai is beelining to the Tiew Gang Vegan. (BTW, I am not Vegan, yet I LOVE the Tiew Gang Vegan.) They do everything well - the other curries, the standard noodle dishes, the dumplings - and it can be tempting to just go with your regular go-to dish like Pad Thai w/Chicken (BORRRINGG, but they do it well nonetheless.) You've gotta try the Tiew Gang Vegan. It's truly a once-in-a-year of eating out experience finding a dish this incredible. It competes pound-for-pound in the same heavy hitter weight class as the best Pho, Ramen, Jjamppong, or Beef Noodle Soup you've ever had. I've now been to Degthai 10 times, and have gotten the Tiew Gang Vegan the last 5 times in a row.

Here in Nashville for a conference. First time visiting. Not the easiest place for a pescatarian to…read morefind food. That being said we figured we can't go wrong with Thai right? Saw this place was highly recommended so my husband and I decided to place an order. I figured I'd go with things that are staples and almost impossible to mess up since I'm not familiar with them. I got Tom Kha soup, Thai salad and mango sticky rice. My husband also got us crab Rangoon to share. I love Nashville and the people but I have no clue wth yall are use to eating out there giving this place dang near 5 stars. This was theeeeeeeee worst Thai food I've ever had in my entire life! Initially I was pissed at the portion sizes and then when I tasted the food I was like well hey I guess I can at least feel better now about trashing it. I'm still baffled about how you can literally screw up 3 of the basic Thai dishes that I ordered. They are normal staples! If you follow me and look at my reviews you will see my orders of these same items from multiple restaurants and none of them look like this, nor are the portions as skimpy. You guys are not being given the true Thai food experience eating this mess and they are ripping you off with the portion sizes. I've traveled all over and they even give you better food and more of it for the same price in Hollywood! So here's what was wrong. 1. The Tom Kha was flavorless and overly salty. You couldn't taste the lime leaves, Galangal or lemon grass. There were no scallions or onions. The bowl came half full and there was literally 3 pieces of tofu in it and two slivers of mushrooms. Not one scallion or onion. It was HORRIBLE! The salad, again trash portion size. The lettuce had a nasty bitter taste and the dressing was just as nasty. It did not taste like the traditional fresh ginger dressing. It was pungent and bitter. The crab Rangoon. It's not supposed to be tough and chewy with a runny hot melted cheesecake inside like this! It's not a hot pocket! It's supposed to be light, flaky and crispy with a more firm inside and visible imitation or real crab meat. The texture is everything and that's part of what makes crab Rangoon taste so good. This was not it! Lastly the mango sticky rice. That was the least horrible part of the meal and it still wasn't good. It was just edible due to the fresh mango. The mango sticky rice is supposed to be drizzled with a creamy coconut milk sauce, this was drizzled with some watery looking mess. Bottom line Nashville you are being slighted. This absolutely is not real Thai food. I'd sooner eat a bag of chips before I'd ever order from here again. I will be praying for a better business to open up shop in the area to serve you better quality Thai cuisine.
