Mother Modern Plumbing will be the only plumbing service that I'll ever call again. I had been dealing with a shower and washing machine drain stoppage for a while. All other drains were fine and nothing I tried was working to clear the blocked shower and washer drain. This experience with Mother Modern Plumbing was as perfect as it gets. The first thing I noticed when I called was a quality of true kindness.. Gabby took that call and she was great. Even with my complicated schedule this week (medical appointments) she managed to work me into their schedule. She was absolutely excellent. And each of their team members that I spoke with, also had that same quality of kindness. Just genuine NICE people. Willie came over to clear the drain problem and he's an awesome guy. He figured out immediately the best approach to get the clog out. And he showed me the images with a special camera down in the drain. He's by far the most considerate person I've ever had over here. My two dogs were especially bad and barked terrible at him.. and he remained calm, relaxed and pleasant. He even saved one of them out in the street because I had left the gate open. Not only are they great people at Mother's, but they charged less than any others that I checked. I checked a lot. The 1st plumbing company that I called required a fee just to come and look at the problem, for an estimate of what the actual job will cost.. their estimate fee was about the same as Mother's full fee was for doing the entire job, with no estimate fee charged. Feeling would be they unilaterally impose their own ideas and methods and aggressive It seems they lack services and approaches that are tailored to the customer's needs. I paid everything before thier work done, but they have not done. When we found the hot water line leak underneath the house, they took care of it immediately. After it needed to be installed drain to out our house, they are good job, but they asked us to pay for this before work is done. I was OK with the payment before they finished, but they did not say when the excavator people come, he said maybe this afternoon or tomorrow morning. Excavators came in next morning and worked to install the drain, but they did not finish the job, and we got complaints from neighborhood. Here is the picture they done. After they work done, they notice they should work more correctly, and they contacted us. On Friday, 12/19/25. 11:39 am. we had a phone call and conversation with plumber that he worked our hot water leak, and at that time he said excavator people come Saturday, but he did not mention what time, and he said he will find out what time they come in Saturday. But I have not received the update about what time excavator people come in Saturday. On Saturday, 12/20/25. 8:47 am. He called me and excavator people will be there, but we were not home because he did not update what time excavate people came on Saturday. Plumber said we will come Tuesday, Not Monday. I do want to say that I appreciate the effort involved in replacing our main sewer line and…read morerecognize that was a significant repair. That said, I do want to express my dissatisfaction with aspects of the project execution. My understanding per the contract and my discussion with Baker Bros, was that the project would take 2 days and included restoration of the yard, with existing grass being replaced where possible and sod being installed in areas where the original grass could not be salvaged. Instead the project extended from last Thursday through Friday of the next week, which was substantially longer than anticipated. Although the plumbing was complete, the backfill, and yard restoration was not. Ultimately, I'm disappointed with the condition in which the yard was left. While I understand excavation work will inevitably impact the appearance of the lawn, I expected the restoration work to be performed with greater care and attention to detail. Some of the sod had been laid over each other or over existing grass rather than being properly cut and fitted into areas where replacement was actually needed. My expectation was never that the yard would look exactly as it did before the repair. However, I did expect the restoration efforts to reflect the same level of professionalism as the sewer line replacement itself. For example, on the first day of yard restoration after I had chatted with a Baker Bros Service Plumber about the yard, who I am assuming to be the general foreman of the 3rd party restoration crew, showed up to my home and I walked out to a group of around 8 men, and he stated, "my boss said you have a problem". But I would've expected Baker Bros to come out to check on the status of 3rd party contracted work. I've used baker bros since we bought our home over 3 years ago and have always had positive experiences; however, this piece was not a great one.
