Inferno has quickly become one of our favorite takeout pizza spots! This is honestly some of the best takeout pizza we've had. The crust is fantastic--thin and crispy with just the right amount of char, but still chewy and flavorful. The toppings are fresh and generous, and the pizza has arrived hot and perfectly cooked every time. We loved it so much after our first order that we've already been back, and Inferno has officially earned a spot in our regular pizza rotation. Great crust, great flavor, consistently delicious. Highly recommend! read more

Inferno Apizza - Mushroom and onion apizza - Pizza Near Me - Wallingford, Connecticut

Inferno Apizza is a New Haven-style pizzeria that opened in North Haven, Connecticut in July 2017. It was founded by Christopher Beauton, who has over 50 years of pizza-making experience. More recently Beauton was connected with the New Haven-based "Big Green Truck Pizza": a fleet of green mobile wood-fired pizza oven trucks that was founded in 2003. He joined that operation in 2009 and worked as one of the pizza chefs as well as an operations manager. In 2017, Beaumont decided to open his own brick & mortar pizzeria at the Home Depot Plaza in North Haven. He had a Mugnaini Wood-Fired Pizza Oven imported all the way from Tuscany, Italy and installed at his new pizzeria. Inferno Apizza was met with much success and even opened a mobile pizza truck spin-off business dubbed "Rolling Inferno". In May 2024, Inferno Apizza closed their North Haven location. At this point, Beauton semi-retired but passed the torch to his 20-year-old grandson Michael Masto. The young pizzaiolo learned well from his grandfather and had been making pizza for a number of years. In October 2024, Masto reopened Inferno Apizza in Wallingford, with Beauton helping out as a "business consultant". In addition to New Haven-style thin crust pizza, Inferno also makes subs, salads and various appetizers such as wings and stuffed breads. My family and I have ordered from Inferno Apizza several times since they opened, and we have never had a bad experience. The crust is always crisp with just the right amount of char around the edges. I recently ordered take-out from them: a large "White Pie with Broccoli & Extra Garlic" and a small "Plain Mozzarella". This was actually my first time ordering from them since they relocated to Wallingford. When I arrived, I took note of the new location. It's much smaller than their old North Haven location; more of a take-out pizzeria now as opposed to a large sit-down pizzeria. Also gone is the large wood-fired oven (the pizza trucks, however, still use wood fire). Inferno now uses conventional gas ovens. Could they still get that crispy, charred crust with these? When I arrived at home, we dug into the pizzas and all of our worries were set aside. It may be a new location, it may be different ovens, but it's still the same excellent-tasting pizza! We continue to give Inferno Apizza our seal of approval! read more

I used the "rolling inferno"pizza truck this past weekend in Connecticut for my son's birthday party.. Party was great BUT I had a couple of issues with the contract and what was promised to me in writing. Last half hour was in writing that they would serve gelato. (One of the reasons I hired them was because my kids have celiac ). We put it on invite too that we were serving gelato. So Everyone was asking where the gelato was after the pizza. They served cannolis instead and definitely not enough for 75 people. When I asked where the gelato for everyone was-- Mike said it is always cannolis. That is not true according to my contract and their website. After the party, I wanted to discuss with him. NOT because I was asking for a portion of my money back. I just wanted to find out what happened and what went wrong . He has completely ghosted me. Will not return texts or phone calls. After paying $2350 plus great tips for party-- I deserved a call to discuss. So I will NOT use them again and I certainly will NOT recommend this pizza truck to my neighbors. Great Customer service is a must in every business. Happily taking someone's money and ghosting that customer when they want to discuss parts of the contract that were NOT adhered to is terrible business practice. read more

I tried inferno pizza truck this summer at a 4th of July party and thought it was absolutely amazing. So many different pizzas to pick from . And they had gelatin and what a great experience. Well tonight my daughter ordered me a pizza . I had a busy day and it was the perfect surprise . I didn't realize they delivered and they have small pizzas which is nice when you live alone. The pepperoni and onion was soo good . Cooked perfectly and was here in a little bit less than a half hour even though they said an hour . I highly recommend them . Thanks Chris M read more

I think 2 may be generous. Now, I will say that we had delivery and one of my main complaints was the the pizza arrived refrigerator cold. Like, it even looked like it came out of the refrigerator. My arrival time was missed by almost 20 minutes. And when the order arrived the had changed my 1 liter bottle of Foxon Park Diet Cola for a 12 oz can of Diet Coke. Not pleasant! read more

Inferno Apizza - Not Foxon Park...bummer! - Pizza Near Me - Wallingford, Connecticut

Inferno has the best pizza around by far. Miss the North Haven location with the seating but they kept the pizza the same and it is great.

Ordered for the first time. Got a couple of small pizzas. One with eggplant. The eggplant was so good. Not heavily fried or soggy. The other had meatball. Highly recommend and looking forward to getting again. read more

Had lunch today here at Inferno Apizza along with my brother and 2 friends and the pizza was outstanding. We had a large chicken/ spinach and a White Calm Pizza. The pizza was thin crust and cooked to perfection. They just reopened after a small fire they had a few weeks ago and now back on their feet. They aren't making subs yet but the menu has quite a few items to chose from. Hope to visit them again soon. Congratulations Inferno Apizza for a job well done. read more

Been wanting to try for a few months and was very excited to try, but very disappointed, many other places in Wallingford are much better, We had two small pizzas one was a gf which was a personal pizza that fit on a dinner plate, the other bacon and onion, $42.00, no flavor in the sauce, eggplant was a Cyco product. We don't mind paying $ for good food, this was not, i hope it improves Good luck ... step it up read more

Ordered a large pepperoni and a large mashed potato bacon onion for delivery. Arrived hot and both were great pies . Recommend trying them!

The menu online doesn't specify the sizes avail. They have Small and Large only, no medium. They should fix that. Ordered Delivery. Came exactly at the time I requested. Crust was perfect and pie was not saggy. Held up to the one slice test easily. The sauce and cheese were tasty. I had Sausage and Mushrooms toppings. Sausage not as good as Zuppardi's but still tasty. (Zupps is by far the best ever though.) The Mushrooms were rather small, and I believe may be canned ones. Taste was still good, but I prefer the fresh mushrooms, and it makes a difference. Overall, I was pleased and will order delivery again as Olde World only uses DoorDash. Inferno uses their own employees. read more

Great New Haven style pizza would recommend the thin crust cheese salads are good too

Over $40 for a small specialty pie and large cheese. Advertised as only having small or large pies- large being 16". No way it's even close to a large or that big. Crust had no flavor at all. I know price of everything has risen, but we won't be back here. read more
