When I called Sage Farms, the woman who assisted me was fantastic. We looked at website photos…read moretogether and she helped me pick out a selection based on the photos. Two other clients had ordered flowers for the family earlier in the day and she made sure my selection was different. She also went out of her way to make sure the flowers were delivered that afternoon and they were received within a few hours. So I was delighted with that. However. Our friends sent a photo and the flowers were very, very humble compared to the photo on the website. I was embarrassed with what was delivered and stunned that I paid $117 for what looked like $20 worth of Trader Joes flowers. I called the shop that night and left a voicemail asking if we could have a conversation. Two days later I sent an email and included a photo from the website and the photo my friend sent me. I never heard back. This morning I emailed the shop again, and said that since they offer a 100% guarantee, that I was particularly upset that I was never called back. I have only once before given a bad yelp review. It pains me to do it, but after reaching out to the shop three times to ask to have a conversation, and with no response, I decided to share this. I would upload the photo of the arrangement on the website and the photo my friend sent me but I don't see the function to do that.

This place is the home of the Grapple. They tote the slogan "Looks like an apple. Tastes like a…read moregrape." I recently bought a pack from Safeway after a friend mentioned them to me. Because seriously, if I could have a huge grape, that would be so awesome. And I thought that they were a bio-enhanced mutant apple that tasted like grape, but actually it's a Washington Extra Fancy Fuji apple that has been infused with grape flavor. They come in a pack of 4 or already sliced and smell amazing. The taste was very subtly grape. But not so much natural grape, but the grape flavoring that you find in some candies. Nevertheless it was a good batch of apples, very crisp and juicy. The one thing I do have to gripe about is that I think they should have been pronounced Gra-ples. Instead of Grape-L. Gra-ples just sounds cooler phonetically.

My son and I stopped for coffee, not realizing what a "find" the antique store is. Believe me, at my age (mid-seventies) I've been in hundreds of antique stores, most of which border on being 2nd-hand shops or glorified flea-markets. Not so, Antique Mall in Cashmere! This is the best cross-section of Americana I've ever seen. It claims to be 15,000 square feet of antiques and it is every bit of that and more! Here's what they've done right: 1) There's no flea-market junk. Everything displayed qualifies as a keep-sake. 2) Each item is displayed with respect on it's own foot-print of space, not crowded against or stacked on top of another. 3) Prices are clearly marked and designated as "each", or "per set", or the number of pieces. 4) Most items are clean and well lighted--appear showcase ready! 5) Multiple rooms or nooks are theme-related, so if you're interested in tools, or magazines, or German mugs, or fishing gear, or tableware, or vintage signage--there's a section for you! 6) Several salespeople are readily available to help you find what you're interested in. 7) The coffee shop on site, and spacious restrooms can make this store a whole day event. There really is that much to see. If you live on the coast and are "into" antique hunting, the 2-1/2 hour drive from Seattle is worth the trip just to see this store. I'm going to come back for a few items I'm interested in having, and I'm not telling you what they are !
