We fell in love with this restaurant so much, we ended up coming here twice during our 5 day trip. My wife is from Jarkata, Indonesia so I trust her when she picks out an Indonesian restaurant. The food is not authentic Indonesian, but more of a Dutch infusion. Nonetheless, the food was out of this world. I highly suggest ordering the rendang. It's slow cooked to perfection. You can literally cut it with a chopstick. If you're not a beef lover, then try the chicken satay. It has the perfect amount of char without comprising that mouth-watery goodness. And if you're not a meat lover and want a vegan option, opt for the nasi goreng. Pro tip: order all three and go family style (share everything). So I LOVE LOVE LOVE Indonesian food. Spent a ton of time in various parts of the country and could live on a great nasi goreng. Super exciting to have an Indonesian spot in our neighborhood. I have noted elsewhere that it's hard to get spicy food in most of France, and this is doubly true here. The food is very solid, but I had to mix in a whole BOWL of sambal to get close to the senses-exploding level of spice I am used to. Still...foodwise a nice visit to Indonesia. A nice selection of juices and bio wines, too. Downsides...really no vibe in here, not convivial/congenial, extremely brightly lit, service is friendly but not all that helpful. I'd come back because of aforementioned hankering for nasi goreng/mee goreng, but none of my dining companions want to return - the food competition in this area is pretty intense!! read more

3.5** Passed by this joint on our sight seeing route. I never had Indonesian food before so I figured this was a good time to give it a try. We had banh mi for dinner an hour ago and was ready for our second dinner. There's only one server and he was on top of his game! I loved his sense of humor. He translated a lot in English for us and was attentive. I read a few reviews saying it was too Dutch but I'm not sure what that means. Never had Dutch food either. Overall the food was on the salty side and it tasted like a mix of Asian and Mexican food. Is that how Indonesian food is? No idea. I ordered the Sambal goreng tempeh, Nasi sate ayam and Dadar gulung. The tempeh was drowned in sauce so if you never had tempeh before, this would be a good time to try it because tempeh is an acquired taste. I would opt out on the dessert - it's nothing special and not fresh. You're better off using your euros at a dessert place. I can't say the food here was over priced because I feel like all the food in Paris is expensive. Do I recommend coming here? Yeah, I enjoyed my first Indonesian cuisine. Wow I was pretty disappointed with our dinner. I wanted to like this place, but it was actually our worst meal and service in Paris :( Siu mai sapi (5,50 €): filled with sticky rice and ground beef and served with Thai sweet sauce, the siu mai was very soft. Where is the peanut sauce? I've never had siu mai filled with sticky rice. The siu mai barely had any meat. Sadly, it was the best dish of the night. Nasi sate ayam (14,00 €): the chicken sate was tasteless. Did they use peanut butter instead of peanut sauce? I can make better sate using pre-packaged peanut sauce from the supermarket. Nasi goreng ayam (13 ,00 €): also tasteless. One of the worst Indo fried rice I've ever had. Evian water (4,5 €): giant bottle of water. The service was BIZARRE. When it comes to Indo places this place was unfortunately lacking in flavor. Very bland. This was sadly the worst meal we had in Paris. The waiter was funny trying to act all hip, seemed to try to act all cool in front of the customers. Obviously fell short of that. I think this place is run by a Dutch owner, not Indonesian. I grew up in Indonesia. The food here tasted a bit westernized. And of course, way overpriced for what it is. The menu is also very limited as there are a large variety of Indonesian cuisine that were absent here. The only wait staff there is friendly though extremely sarcastic that I couldn't really tell if he was seriously mocking us sometimes (maybe it's a French thing) But kudos overall for the attempt to bring Indonesian cuisine to Paris. South East Asian food is probably a bit underserved here. read more

I had dinner here to end my last day in Paris...I was skeptical to begin with and ended w/ a big smile on my face. Having lived in Indo for half of my life and had dined at many Indonesian restaurant in USA and Amsterdam; I personally feel that the food here is as close and as authentic to Indonesian cooking as I remember it. I know what Indonesian cuisine should taste like and this is it!!! If you like spicy food, then, make sure you ask for their homemade "sambal" as it will give you some sweat. I do wish they have more than 1 server to speed up service, therefore, I am deducting 1 star. Will I come back when I visit Paris? In a nice atmosphere, this restaurant will surprise you. I've dragged a few colleagues and friends there, who were not necessarily appealed by Indonesian food. When they saw the plates arriving and how the food was tasting, they were all super happy and couldn't believe how delicious the food was. All the plates are prepared in an exquisite manner and the presentation of the food is done with attention to details. Ask for some hot sauce on the side if you like it spicy. The food itself is not hot/spicy, but super well seasoned. Also, there is a great selection of excellent wines at reasonable prices. Don't miss the rum-based cocktails (my favorite is the Merapi, which comes with rum, cane sugar and pieces of ginger)! The menu changes depending on the season. On the latest menu, my favorite is the seabass. You get the entire fish but it is super easy to eat as it is pre-cut. And of course, the service is good and they speak English! read more

This place is my favorite restaurant in Paris. The food is fresh and identical to what you would eat in Indonesia. The location and the ambience is great and the price is on the low side for Paris. The people who work there ave always been lovely and the service is top notch. read more
