So this place is great. Aku tinggal di Hawaii, yg nggak ada resto indo sama sekali. Berarti I needed to cross the world for this place I think they may have shortened their menu in covid times, as there were only about 6 mains. Aku emang senang sempat bisa berbicara bhs Indo ama Paris locals, dan juga restonya dipegagang sama org Indo. The rendang and is what you need to order. If you also get the Nasi goreng, pay the extra for the sambal Maison. It's terasi style and just yum. I wouldve given this place 5 stars, but the mie ayam isnt so much so. The mie is just not what it should be. Maybe it's a more Parisian style. The flavours didn't stick and I needed to add kecap manis and sambal to make it tasty. Still didn't quite cut it. tried them last week on my europe vacation. I saw someone having fish that was cooked in banana leaf. It was being served on the next table. I just loved the flavor and asked them to get that for me. One of the best fish i had. I was cooked to perfection had panang curry over it and got some steamed rice. We also ordered vegetarian rice. One thing that I noticed was that there was this distinct spice that i do not find in US thai and other asian restaurant. That spice flavor was something that i had never felt in any asian cuisine.. so different and authentic. It tasted real good. The owner of the restaurant was there and this is a high end restaurant and he was picking up plates and interacting with guests. Nice experience and great food and wine. It is a bit expensive but then i doubt you will get too many indonesian places in les halles or for that matter in paris :) read more

I came here for lunch and took the Rijsttafel Bandung. I must say that I was not impressed. The lumpia was over cooked and dripping with oil. The acar had ingredients that I never saw in this dish like carrot and red beet. The rendang was ok but to have this rijsttafel for 35€ was not worth it. read more

I am confident they overcharged us when they saw we were tourists. There were several instances of this. For example they asked if we wanted water and we said specifically tap water, we were then given a bottle of unsealed still water that tasted exactly like tap water but later saw on the bill that they charged us $8.50 euro for water. All three of us also got food poisoning from their Beef Randang dish a few hours later. As our trip was not very long, this really cut into our time in Paris unfortunately. I'm not sure why this establishment is not worse reviewed, I am genuinely confused. I would recommend staying away and opting for something else if you're considering this spot. Still one of my all time favorites in Paris. The Djakarta Rijstafel menu is to die for. The chicken is tender, the krupuk melts on your tongue the way it should, the ambiance is lovely, right down to the beautiful restrooms. The menu for 25E is well worth it. It's a sampling of their best meals. Make sure you put the shredded coconut on everything! It's amazing. If I lived in Paris, I would come here every night. read more

As an Indonesian I was so excited to come across Djakarta Bali when my family and I were in Paris. Unfortunately, we came out of there very very disappointed. The food was way less than subpar (even I could cook Indonesian food better than that) and the price was omg so expensive! The food was a little bland and the portion sizes were super small for the price. Nasi goreng (fried rice) was a 12E side dish!! For the sate, you only 4 "batang" for a whopping 14E. It was a little unreal--broke my little Indonesian heart. I truly do wonder if my experience would be different if we tried the ristaffel, but too late now (and I can assure you that we will never go back). On the bright side, the decor was super cute and everything was authentically Indonesian. Additionally, the wait staff speaks Bahasa. But I gotta say, this place will probably be disappointing if you have a drop of Indonesian blood in you. read more

Having lived in Indonesia for years, when I saw this restaurant, I thought it might make a nice change of pace for dinner. What I didn't expect was the most expensive restaurant in the (quite expensive) neighborhood offering tiny, child-sized portions. You can't really see much of the menu from outside, so it was a surprise. The food itself was reasonably good -- we got rendang, gado-gado, and a nasi goreng -- but the prices are astronomical for what you get, and it wasn't much better than what you'd eat at an decent street-side warung in Jogjakarta for a couple euros. There is nothing in dishes like nasi goreng or gado-gado, which I often cook at home myself, to justify these inflated prices. It's not as though you're getting a better cut of meat or fresh sea food or anything like that, it's just things like peanuts and garlic and eggs and tamarind paste. Comparing this place to its European neighbors, the profit margins are surely much higher considering what goes into the dishes. When you're charging 20 Euros for a cup of fried rice with a little chicken, something's really wrong. If you're rich and you are really craving Indonesian food, you could do worse, but for everyone else, just hop on a plane to the real Jakarta; the trip will pay for itself after a few lunches. read more

Good but not value This restaurant has a well cared for and authentic atmosphere. Somewhat restricted menu. Overal food preparation is average. One would have at least expected the Sate Ayam to be barbecued rather than what appears to have been boiled and disguised in peanut sauce. At 9.50€ for four pieces of Kroepoek (Shrimp crackers) it is a rip-off. The portions are very small with a substantial price-tag. read more

I am a foreigner in Paris. I am so amazed with the beauty of all the buildings here, yet disappointed with Parisian's attitudes. Wow I am telling....getting inside this restaurant you see the difference, no fake smile and no fake decoration, the food is NOT FROZEN FOOD that you always get in general restaurant. Real person will appreciate this restaurant, a little bit more expensive than other but it is worth the meal and the place. I came so many times here, because I like the taste of the perfume rice. It is mouth watering and get melt it harmoniously with the rendang daging (beef marinated in coconut sauce) hhhmmmm... marrying it with Opor ayam (chicken in light curry coconut milk) and also so heavenly delicious with the Pepes Ikan (Fish cooked in banana leaves) ... You can get all these meals all at once in the menu Bali (55 euros) and I suggest you come with someone and order the menu Djawa, (30euros )menu with rice and shrimp sauted with tofu and fish in sweet sour sauce. Well.. I could not say more about this restaurant; witness it by yourself. You could forget the time you spend and heaven is there! read more
