Torn between 2 and 3 stars here. This place bills itself as 'Indian street food' and I have to say the concept is good, the food is standard Indian fayre which is way overpriced though. It's centrally located in the middle floor food court where there's lots of food choices. The ordering process is good- they give you a pager that they page you on to tell you your food is ready to collect. This is good as members your group can eat at any of the places (my wife had thai) as they operate on the same system. It's a shame the food doesn't live upto expectations! I ordered Aloo tikki for £6 and a chicken tikka wrap for £7. I was firstly expecting fresh, just cooked food and a fair amount. No such joy! The Aloo tikki was lukewarm, though well presented and tasted ok. Just could not get my head around the fact I pay £1 for this street food dish on green st, just up the road. Was therefore expecting something more and actually the only extra you get is a bit of artistically cut salad. As for the chicken tikka wrap, this was nice but it didn't taste fresh as the nan was soggy. At £7 i'd say this is taking the p@@s because the portion size is pretty tiny and again, just up the road you can get a freshly made equivalent for less than half the price that would taste better. Now I know you can expect to pay a premium in such a prestigious location but with a premium pricetag should come premium food that's freshly cooked and fairly sized portions. At the end of this £12 takeaway meal I was still hungry!! Your money will get you a lot more at the other food places, such as the Thai opposite. And as for the urge to eat Indian food, I now know it's well worth driving up the road to either green st or east ham for it and then I won't need to complain! I just believe it's worth trying places for yourself once and this place I'll be avoiding in the future. read more
