What kind of food do you want? I answered (in Hindi).. "yaar kabab khila dey please. Bohot mood hai" -- Translates to.. "dude, feed me some kababs, in mood for it".. His answer was.. "Hyderabadi Spice" That's when we got here. We got the Kabab Platter (£15.99) which consists of some amazing Lamb Chops, Chicken Malai Kababs, Sheekh Kababs, 2 Drumsticks, Fish Tikka's.. Absolutely delicious and extremely well seasoned. I have also been to a place called Tayyab's in London.. and let me tell you, Tayyabs enjoys a brand name now in addition to it's location, but honestly, it's all hyped up. Understood, that in a tipsy/drunk state, it's difficult to make it to Hyderabadi Spice.. but it's totally worth it! We also got the Lamb Biryani (£12.95) which portion-wise is perfect for 2. In fact, we couldn't finish our Biryani. It's not the best biryani I've had, but still absolutely delicious! Service wise, really good experience. Attentive and friendly staff.

The staff are all very friendly and helpful when ordering if you are unsure. The menu is extensive and there is lots to choose from. As well as eating in or take away they do have a lot of snacks and sweets to take away too. They also do catering for events and weddings, they made the food for my wedding and everyone was very impressed. They are used to catering for hundreds and hundreds of people so they really know what they are doing. If you are ever in the area it is somewhere you should stop in to.

This is a vegetarian restaurant but if, like me, you're a meat eater don't let this put you off. The dishes are so tasty and filling you won't notice the lack of meat. The restaurant is always busy and is especially popular within the Asian community so that's always a good sign. It's not the smartest restaurant and is more like a cafe in terms of the setting but it really is a gem. I always have to have the aloo papdi chaat. It's definitely my favourite dish there. Then I usually go for a thali to get a mix of everything or a dosa as they're so good. It's all really good though, well cooked, nicely spiced and really good value. The only thing I haven't liked is the mogo. We usually get a few dishes and share them between us which works well but we do come out completely stuffed and have to waddle home. Oh, and always have a mango lassi each. I just wish they did jugs of it!

There's a plethora of Indian stores and restaurants on the East Ham High Street (and of course, the requisite population of Asians to patronize them... if you're anything but brown, be prepared to feel like a foreign minority - I've been stopped and asked if I'm "lost"), but after you've poked around a bit, I suggest you take a right out of the East Ham Tube station and head up the street to the vegetarian Saravanaa Bhavan restaurant for a delightfully tasty and authentic Indian meal experience. What's really cool about Saravanaa Bhavan (and what makes it worth the trek) is that they serve dishes that you've never seen anywhere in your run-of-the-mill Indian restaurant... and certainly not anywhere in Central London. Visually, you're in for a surprise. There are incredible inflated pancakes, mammoth tubes of golden crepes-like things three feet long, little tin cups filled with a rainbow of curries and sauces that you've never heard of before. For a lover of Indian food, this is a veritable funhouse of new and fascinating curiosities... you will want to look and stare and ask a thousand questions, and then, order everything! They have a couple of platter options, and for a first-timer, I recommend that you get both (especially since they're unbelievably cheap) - that way you get a good sampling of everything on offer. Plus maybe order a mashed-potato-filled dosa, just for good measure. The service is okay. The atmosphere is better than what you'd expect. But the food is delicious; good quality and exceptionally well-spiced - plus you really can't trump the whole novelty factor of the cuisine. We wouldn't have thought twice about it, had it not been that all the (white) groups that came in behind us were all noticeably seated on the more brightly lit side of the room where you come in (and as far from our table as poss). Were they worried people would be put off their food by seeing the table of asians eating naan with their fingers?! Maybe it was all just random, but I wasn't really sure what to make of it... The service manages to both stand on top of you yet also take an age to respond when you ask for anything. But the food came out eventually - nothing special but tasty enough, and not swimming in oil either which pushes it up the curryhouse rankings for me.
