I wasn't expecting to be able to get an appointment so quickly. Tristin and Gannon were the service technicians that completed the project. I needed to change one outlet to a 3-prong and had two outlets and a light switch that had stopped working and then started working about a week or so later. They replaced the outlets and, because they weren't grounded and didn't have a ground wire, they used two GFCIs to ensure safety and one regular outlets. They were very professional and personable, and explained everything clearly. I highly recommend this company for any electrical work that you need. I want to update that review because Portland Metro Electric ultimately went above and beyond to address my concerns. I originally called because I was experiencing flickering lights and was concerned that several appliances seemed to be having problems at the same time. The electrician evaluated my electrical panel and did not find a problem with it. During the visit, he suggested adding a whole-house surge protector as an additional precaution, and I agreed to have it installed. Afterward, I had concerns about the $450 charge for the surge protector, as well as the fact that I wasn't informed about the 3% credit-card fee until I was ready to pay. I contacted the company and explained my concerns. The owner took my concerns seriously and ultimately provided a total adjustment of $450. I genuinely appreciate that he was willing to listen, work with me, and continue addressing the situation rather than simply dismissing my concerns. While I wasn't completely satisfied with the initial experience, I am very satisfied with how Portland Metro Electric ultimately handled my concerns. They demonstrated that they care about their customers and are willing to make things right when a customer feels something wasn't handled appropriately. I'm updating my review to five stars because of the way the company ultimately stood behind its service and worked with me to reach a resolution. I appreciate the professionalism and customer service they ultimately demonstrated.

The cost quoted was $300/first hour then $150/hour. This seemed pretty high, but I can be out of touch with reality on pricing. Figuring out a crazy DIY mess from previous owner on a 107 year old house was quite the ordeal to put a ceiling electrical box up. When the 3 hour project was done it cost me $600. That was very reasonable because he worked quickly and efficiently. Quotes seven years ago from other electricians were $1000 plus .
