Amazing!!! Went here with my bestie to split an appetizer, entree and dessert. We asked for the vegetarian menu. Our starter: Cauliflower wings (with all 3 sauces, because our lovely server Yassy saw that we were having a hard time deciding on one). Delicious flavor and excellent texture. I was really impressed with how the breading held its shape & stayed bonded to the cauliflower. That's hard to do! The portion size was massive, so we had enough to take home and give to my dad, who really enjoyed them even without the sauce. Our main: Lion's mane mushroom steak. We mentioned that we'd be splitting this entree, so they brought it out already plated on 2 separate plates, with an extra portion for each of us so it felt like we each got a full meal! That kind of generosity is rare in a restaurant. And the food was delicious on top of that. The "steak" was impressively meaty and flavorful, the glaze was tangy and sweet, the Brussels sprouts were crisped to perfection, and the mashed potato just hit the spot. Our dessert: Grand Marnière Chocolate Mousse. Absolutely EXQUISITE. The flavor, texture, and portion were all perfect. No notes LOL. We ordered from this restaurant about a year ago. The food was delicious, but I remembered the Nibble Board being especially wonderful. We were back in town and ordered the Nibble Board in addition to other food. I don't know what happened, my guess is they ran out of what was needed to make this item. Our meat on the board was 2 slices of bacon (!) and summer sausage. There were no olives. In their place were grapes, several of those were over ripened. The nuts were walnuts which I am assuming are used on the salads. It was a stark contrast to what we had gotten before. My advice would be to ask what's on the board before ordering. Our other food was good, but not great. We'll chalk it up to an off night, but not sure we will return. Service was horrible!! We were in town for a wedding and came for dinner on Saturday night. Beautiful restaurant and ambiance. BUT first we waited 10 minutes to get a table - only 3 tables in the entire restaurant were occupied but no service staff around at all. We stood there for 10 minutes. Finally a waiter came by and sat us. Never brought water or menus. After another 15 minutes we got the attention of the bartender. Ok we all ordered and when food came out only half of us got food. We sat there not eating waiting for the rest of the food to arrive. It never did. Went to bartender again and they realized the waiter messed up the order badly by not putting all the order in. So here was a good 30 wait between first food being brought and then the second round of food for the 3 people who didn't get food. Overall the food was delicious. Service was horrible and the waiter in question should be fired. He was obviously overwhelmed, untrained, with horrible customer service skills. Awesome place to treat yourself to an amazing meal and some great drinks! The chef here has put together some very unique dishes and there is even a vegan menu! All the apps and dishes were amazing and the wine, beer and drink menu were spot on. Can't wait to go back and try more of the apps and desserts. Service was great as well, they care about what they do and want to give you an experience. Ambiance is low key but classy with cool jazz music in the background. Had an amazing meal tonight at Indigo Cafe. I was by myself so I sat at the bar. It wasn't busy being a frigid Thursday night, but I was happy to have a bartender to talk to. Shelbie was very welcoming and extremely helpful in making some recommendations. I started with the roasted red pepper and smoked gouda soup which was delicious, along with a wonderful bread board with herbed butter and another spread. For my entree I couldn't decide between the lion's mane mushroom steak or the butternut squash ravioli, so Shelbie recommended I get the ravioli with the lion's mane as an added protein. That wasn't listed as an option on the menu but I'm so glad she suggested it. The two were perfect together. The whole meal was fantastic and the other people at the bar were very friendly as well. It is so fantastic to have a restaurant like this in Cleveland that includes creative vegetarian options on their menu. I will definitely stop by whenever I'm in town. read more

Went there on a Saturday around 12:30. No wait time for party of 2. Appears deserted street and quiet on a Saturday but on you open the door to enter it comes to live with the decor and welcoming staff. I pint the decor mix of casual with some more formal element such as the long classic wooden table that can fit over 10 people. The menu very inclusive with good meat vegan and vegetarian option. Great options considering I am more carnivores d wife more vegetarian preference. The peach buratta salad is amazing with slices of warm grilled peaches. The steak pita has juicy steak strips with grilled peppers and onion. The pita grilled nicely and the side of garlics fries had excellent garlic aoli. Wife loved the bean burger and sweat potatoes fries. Server so welcoming and informative. I love the sure options as includes salads and soups. We came here after rafting on the Ocoee River. Our guide Rick, recommended this place so we tried it out. Immediately on walking in the place has a relaxed vibe and lots of interesting art and wall textures to keep the eyes busy. Shelby took care of us and she's super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Food was amazing and fresh with lots of well thought out choices. So many wonderful things to say about this restaurant. We stopped here after a day of hiking within 30 minutes of closing and sometimes the food and service can be below average when that happens. Not here. Our waitress, Rebecca was friendly and helpful when we asked questions about the menu. She brought samples of beer that we had questions about before ordering.. We ordered artichoke fritters to start and she also brought out a bread sampler with vegan cheese and herbed butter. Yummy! For the main meal I ordered the veggie burger and others had Salmon with Wilted Greens and Ancient Grains. The veggie burger was a black bean burger and it had a wonderful smoked flavor. Others also enjoyed their meals. We got the dessert sampler to go since we were to full to eat it then but since the bourbon ice cream would not travel well, Rebecca brought out 4 bowls for us. The Tahini cookies were amazing!I think we were there until 10 if not later and at no time did we feel rushed to finish our meals. We were seated next to the open garage door and it was so nice to enjoy the evening. Being from Houston, it was a treat to sit outside in the summer . Where do I even start?! Amazing. Just what we've been looking for since we moved to Tennessee 3 1/2 years ago. Wait staff is attentive, thoughtful, and offers helpful suggestions for menu items and pairings. Ambience is welcoming, alive and comfortable at the same time. Food is incredible! Love the combinations and both vegetarian and meat options. Presentation is tasteful and fun. We ordered the Mediterranean sampler, sweet salad will beef medallions,and the 8 Oz burger. All delicious and flavorful. Hubbie said its the best burger he has ever had! Quality meat cooked to perfection. Our server recommended either meat or seitin to go on top of sweet salad. I chose beef medallions and what a good combination!. The red pepper tapenade and smoked trout dip on the Mediterranean plate were my favorite and the baba ganoush and hummus were great topped with the tapenade! We will be back. As we left we let the hostess know how much we enjoyed our experience and she introduced us to the owner. What a lovely business owner with a vision for what this area needed. They've been open for only 3 months and they are quite busy but I think because service is so efficient and have a nice size space, they are able to turn tables quickly and there isn't a lot of waiting around. They appear well staffed and have a bar for those who are interested. The dessert looked really good but our meal was so satisfying, we just wanted to.savor it. We will be back and bring friends. We were excited to try this restaurant but the food was not tasty. The cauliflower wings had a heavy almond flour coating that tasted like sawdust. The black bean burger was mushy and tasteless, and gratefully our server took it back and offered a different meal. We chose the grilled cheese because we thought it would be hard to mess up, but it barely edible. Frozen crinkle french fries missed the mark too. Hopefully the normal chef was off duty that day. Hold on to your socks. Layers of cohesive flavors. Like pork belly? Chef has your back. Two entrees and the nibblin board and the both of us were quite satisfied. The restaurant was eclectic. Nice menu, great service. We were there for lunch, a group of 7. The waitress asked if we were on a crunch for time, since we had our work shirts on. We said "no". Forty-five minutes later, we got our food. Several had ordered the grilled chicken pesto sandwich. The bread was totally burnt on all of them. I had the roasted beet salad, and it was tasty. I went to Indigo Cafe for a work Christmas party with about 16 attendees. The servers were very polite, but there was no organization with the service. They had a hard time getting the right food to the right person. They forgot one person's order completely, and even after everyone had finished eating, his food had still not been brought out; he ended up canceling his order. He got the best deal of the night. The drinks were good, but not a single person in our party liked their food. My wife ordered the veggie burger only to learn the sandwich only includes the veggie patty, cheese and the buns; nothing else for the burger; it came with chips that tasted ok at best; I tried one, and unfortunately it was the best food at the table. I had the indigo steak, but it didn't even look like a steak when it arrived. It was supposed to be a ribeye, but it was about a 6-8 oz piece of pale meat, that was mostly fat. What little meat was on it was tough and stringy as well. It had no seasoning at all on it, and looked like it had been boiled, rather than grilled; there were no grill marks at all to indicate it had touched a hot skillet or grill grate. One of our party pulled up a picture of the advertised steak at Indig's, and it looked NOTHING like what they served me and the other 4 people at the table that had also ordered it. There were no prices on my menu, and to my horror that steak meal alone cost $48+tax. I will never go to this restaurant again. If I could rate it zero stars, I would. As soon as you walk into the Indigo Cafe, you get the feeling you're in for something special, and you are! My dinner companion and I sat at the bar and were served by the owner. Apparently someone called out. I didn't get her name, but she was delightful and very attentive. I ordered one of the specials, a 20-oz. bone-in ribeye, and my friend ordered the grilled chicken wings with Vietnamese sauce. Before I get to our entrees, let me take a moment to say something about the bread. Beautiful, warm, mildly crusty rolls, thoughtfully pre-cut into bite-sized portions, with an olive tapenade schmear on top. Delicious! My steak was beautifully cooked, mildly above my preferred temp, but super tender and incredibly flavorful. And the garlic mashed potatoes and broccolini sides were buttery and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. My friend's wings were perfectly grilled and juicy (pretty hard to do over fire), and the Vietnamese sauce was so good he asked for an extra portion to take home and the owner gave him a whole cup to go at no charge. Portions were so generous we both took some home. The Indigo Cafe is a truly fine restaurant, and I recommend it to everyone who lives in Cleveland, Tennessee, and to those just passing through. What a wonderful lunch experience! The service and food were absolutely superb. I recently decided to stop in for a quick bite to eat on my way to business meeting and was very pleasantly surprised by not only the wonderful ambiance of this beautiful restaurant but also the quality of the dining expirience. The roll up doors were open on a beautiful fall day, allowing light and a nice cool breeze to enter the space...how charming! For lunch I decided on an eclectic choice of a pumpkin chicken grilled cheese with a grilled ceasar side salad and a bowl the most wonderful homemade clam chowder. A perfect combination for fall day. The flavors blended perfectly, especially those of the sandwich and salad. Perhaps most surprising was how inexpensive this lunch was....essentially fine dining at almost at fast food prices. Finally the bar area, where I ate, has wonderful ambiance to it and would make a wonderful destination for group having a business lunch or an after-work cocktail! read more

My husband and I tried this restaurant this past Friday night for the first time. I don't think they made an impression on us that will keep us loyal. I ordered the beef medallions, but the side items that came with the entree didn't appeal to me, but they were happy to let me switch to a brussels sprout mix and polenta. The sprouts were wonderful, as was the beef. Big fail on the polenta and gravy though since they were really cold. I told the server (don't remember her name, but super nice) and she took the polenta and gravy back to have more made. She told me that she felt of it when she got it to the kitchen, and they were indeed cold. She had the chef make more, and I'm sure the microwave took part in getting the items piping hot. I would expect more for a $34 dish. My husband ordered the 6oz bacon wrapped filet special, but he didn't care for one of the side items. I don't know what it was, but the server said it had apple slices in it - again, not good for the $50 price. I accidentally spilled my little shaker with the remainder of my martini due to the lid not on straight and needed another napkin to dry everything up. We sat there for a long time without seeing our server again. My husband finally had to get another place setting from another table (not a problem, since there was only one other occupied table in the house!) When our server finally showed up, I told her we thought she had quit or something since we didn't see her for so long! I don't like to be hovered over by servers, but maybe make an appearance in the dining room so that your patrons can get your attention, if needed. read more
