Everything dish was a hit, no misses. Egg was so good, the crunchy stuff paired with the caviar complemented the egg perfectly. The bread on the side was so fluffy. Chicken Makhni was so good too, the sauce and naan were cherry on top. The kaju Katli was one of my fav desserts, so creamy and nutty. Great pairing + service. Price is also on the lower end for fine dining. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I also love the interior![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Michelin service and ambience wrapped around familiar flavors using French techniques.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Does it deliver the Michelin star - yes. Some items were more spectacular and memorable than others. Nothing was weak or a miss. We tried the non vegetarian and vegetarian menus. Nothing other than the final treats overlapped. So you felt like each menu had its own persona. The egg was a huge favorite for the non-veg menu. The dahi puri and Banarasi Tomato and mango dessert were stars for the veg menu. If you're super hungry, get the supplements. But we could have be very fine without it. The cocktails were amazing. Really surprising how tasty they were. And they packed a punch. All-in we paid $200 pp which felt very reasonable for the experience. Highly recommended for those looking for a Michelin level Indian experience.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Food was excellent, service was great, ambiance was nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Really no complaints about anything. Is a bit unusual to like everything on a tasting menu but I actually did like everything, the presentation was great. Service was good, they did explain everything, folded napkin by the time we came back from restroom etc Didn't get the wine pairing so don't know about that

Indienne absolutely deserves every one of its five stars. We did the non-vegetarian tasting menu, and it was one of the most thoughtfully executed Indian fine dining experiences I've had. The progression felt intentional from the start. The pani puri was bright and playful with passion fruit and green apple. The mushroom galouti éclair with goat cheese and truffle was packed with flavor. Even the yogurt chaat with strawberry, mint, and tamarind felt elevated while still nostalgic. The scallop cafreal was perfectly seared in a silky, herbaceous sauce with caviar, delicate and balanced. The lobster ghee roast was rich but refined and absolutely worth it. The lamb kebab was tender with a beautiful glaze, and the chicken makhni was a polished take on a classic, paired with incredible black dairy dal and garlic naan. Dessert was stunning and not overly sweet. The kaju katli with honeycomb and milk ice cream was the perfect ending. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is elegant and understated, comfortable but not the main draw.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service, however, was phenomenal. Attentive, knowledgeable, and perfectly paced. If you want a refined, modern Indian tasting menu experience in Chicago, Indienne delivers. I'll definitely be back.

My goal is to try 50 new Chicago restaurants in 2025! Restaurant: 60/50 Month tried: October Favorite dish: Chicken makhni curry, lobster ghee, dal and naan We loved loved loved Indienne! The staff is awesome and so friendly. I absolutely love that they have meat, pescatarian, and vegetarian tasting menus. So often I come to Michelin restaurants and have to skip a beef or lamb course. My husband had the meat menu and I had the pescatarian. And, because I had no red meat in my tasting, the wine pairing had no red wine, either! Truly a fantastic experience to even have those options. The food itself was fantastic. From all the unique starting bites (curry leaf and mustard, avocado tamarind oreo, passionfruit bubble) to the delectable mains (lobster ghee, lamb and chicken for my husband, fish for me), and even the desserts (milk ice cream and bon bons!), everything was perfect, creative, and flavorful. The main course was served with a side bowl of lentil dal and naan, which we devoured, and our server was nice enough to bring us more. I left so full I thought I would burst, and so happy. I highly recommend.

Indienne absolutely exceeded every expectation. This was my first Michelin star tasting menu experience and it was unforgettable. The hospitality was outstanding and every course was beautifully crafted with so much creativity and intention. The spirit free pairing was incredible and elevated the entire experience. I enjoyed everything, but my favorites were the Pani Puri, Yogurt Chaat, Medu Vada, Chili Cheese Kulcha, Paneer Kofta, and Mango Delight. Each dish was rich in flavor and presented with so much detail. The balance of textures and spices was perfect. Overall, an exceptional dining experience from start to finish. I cannot wait to return and highly recommend Indienne to anyone looking for a thoughtful and memorable fine dining experience.

Was absolutely blown away by this restaurant! We had such a wonderful experience on so many levels. We were greeted warmly and the waitstaff took our coats to hang up. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant decor looked upscale and minimalistic which I think embodies the simplicity of the menu.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The drink menu was crafted beautifully; each cocktail is named after an ingredient (e.g. ginger) and captures the essence of that flavor. We tried several and enjoyed them greatly. We loved that they offered different tasting menus based on dietary restrictions; we tried the non-veg and veg menus. The dishes were absolutely incredible and beautifully plated. I think they truly captured the flavors of Indian cuisine well. We will definitely be back soon!

Indienne very much sets the standard -- although does not exceed it -- for what a fine dining experience should be. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, and above all well-coordinated. Our waiter provided well-rehearsed introductions to each of the dishes we encountered and thoughtfully answered each of our questions. The food provided a well-curated and at times playful tour through Indian cuisine. One of our initial dishes was a guava "gusher" that provided a provocative introduction to the meal. The main courses were mostly fantastic, although I found the scallop to just be okay. Perhaps ironically, one of my favorite dishes was a rather simple dal with an incredible depth of flavor. My group skipped the wine pairing and opted instead for cocktails, which were surprisingly extraordinary. My favorites were a whiskey and tamarind old fashioned as well as another mezcal-based drink. While the cocktails and food were both quite good, some of the flavors occasionally missed the mark. Moreover, the interactions with the staff were occasionally a bit stiff. Still, Inidenne was a spectacularly enjoyable meal and absolutely met my expectations for what a Michelin-starred restaurant should be.

Food that is not just food but a roller coaster ride down the memory lane. The dhokla that my Gujarati heart will always root for, to pani puri and chaat that stores numerous good times with various friends I made through this journey called Life. Along with South ka kokum influence drink... Well how could North India be missed - the best Kulcha I ever had to the finger liking paneer gravies (yeah the curry had paneer katli that was inspired by kaju katli). And just when we thought we were full, there appeared the dessert. The chef even had us try their research menu of desserts that had edible Chai and Coffee. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance is cozy and perfect for date nights. Not loud and the interiors have lots of Instagram worthy clicks.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] In short the best meal of my lifetime! Thanks hubby for the surprise #michelin #michelinguide #michelinstar #chicago

Tasting menu: 1. Dhokla Aero - Curry Leaf, Mustard 2. Pani Puri - Passion Fruit, Green Apple, Buckwheat 3. Avocado Bhel - Tamarind, Black Rice 4. Yogurt Chaat - Mint, Rhubarb, Raspberry 5. Scallop Cafreal - Miso, Golden Kaluga, Corn Raab 6. Lamb Kebab - Shami, Ribs, Endive, Pickled Jicama 7. Chicken Makhni - Red Pepper Makhni, Fenugreek, Black Dairy Dal, Garlic Naan 8. Bal Mithai - Dulcey, Orange Murrabba, Milk Ice Cream 9. Filter Coffee Bon Bon, Huckleberry Jelly, Bhapa Doi Tart I had no idea what I was eating 90% of the time but the flavors and textures were very interesting and unique in a good way. The few things I'm familiar with such as scallop, naan, and kebab were perfect. I still think about the Chicken Makhni. Criticisms: majority of the courses were sweet. Quantity-wise, I'd prefer a balance or more savory than sweet dishes. Also, ultimately, not very filling but maybe I have a bigger stomach. No issues with service. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambience was fine, nothing special.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

An experience of a kind, the staff and service lives up to its hype. Food was unique, beautiful, curated with care but few things on the menu lacked the flavor or pop hence my 4 stars. We had a big group and they were able to accommodate us last minute. We decided to go the multi course with ala carte drinks. This is one of those places that one should try atleast once.

Oh my... Where do I begin... This was a great night. I was wrapping up my visit in Chicago and wanted a dinner by myself, but I wanted a nice dinner, a treat after a stressful week where I could just savor the experience and sink into relaxation. A friend recommended I'd try to get a reservation at this place. I got one, first seating of the evening. I must say that this was unlike any other Indian food I've ever had. Sure, the core flavors, spices and concepts were the same, but the elevation of each piece of food was just incredible! From the first amuse-bouche to the very last little sweet treat arriving with the check. Everything on the plate had a purpose, every layer a part to play, every pinch of spice adding to the complex yet familiar flavors that exploded in my mouth. The servers added to the experience. They were there at the right time, without hovering. They cleared plates without asking "are you done" because they could tell. They lingered just long enough after presenting each dish or drink to allow for a conversation to be stared if you wanted, but also allow you to just dive into the food without it feeling rude or being an awkward silence. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The dining room was filled with buzzing hushed conversations, just enough to hear a word here or there from the tables nearby, but never so loud as to take away from the intimate experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had the meat option tasting menu with the spirit-free drink pairing. I need to come back and try the vegan one as I am sure it is as amazing and vegan Michelin starred options are not that common. I highly recommend you try a pre-dinner cocktail. The way they incorporate "throwaway" ingredients from the kitchen is super fun and unexpectedly yummy! All in all, this was a great night, a fantastic end to my week. I am leaving Chicago on a very happy note.

Not sure about halal but they have vegetarian tasting menu as well

    Is the meat halal?

Their lamb is halal but not their chicken. Ask for the meat menu (which is mostly seafood) and they will sub out the chicken for cauliflower.

    Are there vegan options?

Yes! They have vegan tasting menu.

How long does the tasting menu normally take?

2 hours but it's not worth it. Save your money.

    Is this place kid friendly?

Not really. You should leave your kids at home.

    Are walk-ins accepted?

    Yes.

Hi are you able to accommodate Gluten free with your menu?

Celiac: no (they use a large, open tandoor oven for their naan) Gluten-free by choice: yes, but put the note in your reservation

All the premier dinners come with salad, cheese, fondue, and the chocolate fondue - You are just choosing what protein you would like. The Prince Geja combination has a little bit of everything. However, we most liked the seafood which includes lobster and the scallops were to die for! Also the beef also cooks well. Favorite dipping sauce included the pimento mayo, chimichurri, and garlic butter. The cheese fondue is quite rich and the bread is quite filling so maybe get as much cheese as you can on each piece of bread. The chocolate fondue, I think is actually the best course as the Belgium chocolate melts so well and has a decadent but not overly sweet flavor. It pairs well with all that is provided for dipping, which includes poundcake, rice Krispies, strawberries. They also have some liquor that they light on fire at first so you can roast the marshmallows. It is such a well thought out experience. Service flows very well from two waiters who take your order set up your fondue pots for each course, but be prepared to spend at least 2 hours on this experience. Check out the Groupon but also I read a review that they just tack on the extra $50 so it's not really too much of a savings. Not sure if this is true.

The truffle-parmesan fries: We couldn't tell if they were too salty or just salty enough, but somehow we couldn't stop eating them! I ordered the baby wedge salad with chicken, and while the chicken looked small at first, it ended up being a large enough portion to last the salad. We were glad to get a seat out on the patio on a lovely Tuesday evening after having spent time at the Zoo just a short walk away. The patio is lovely, two servers handling the large space extremely well. There were some things we had that were standouts, and others that were just fine. The half chicken was excellent, cooked perfectly and rubbed with delicious warming spices, the potatoes and pickled veggies the perfect counterbalance. Similar idea to the dish at Armitage Alehouse, but better seasoned and a lot lighter. The steamed mussels rivaled those of Armitage as well at a fraction of the cost. Very different broth, but the mussels themselves were excellent. We were also really impressed with the tuna tartare, an excellent blend of flavors and textures we could have had seconds on. The crispy shrimp rolls were a slight miss, largely because the shrimp were finely chopped, rather than sliced chunks. You ended up getting more the essence of shrimp than shrimp itself. We also felt the skillet cookie was just fun, no better or worse than we've had at places like Crosby Kitchen. Overall, a really good meal that scrapes being really great at times, and does it at affordable prices with friendly, attentive service.

Not a problem since I was dining with my husband, but I would have preferred my own salad if I was with a less familiar party. The silverware and dishes were works of art in and of themselves, but our table was scratched up considerably. My dessert was presented very creatively - although my husband's was much more straightforward. Dessert was an optional add-in, so a separate bill was brought out for this at the end. I'd never been to Willow Room and liked that they had a four course dinner menu, with items I liked. I was able to make a reservation for a Saturday night at 8:15pm. PARKING Parking on Halsted on a Saturday night can be a nightmare, and it did take a minute to find street parking. North of the 1800 block is busier because there are several restaurants within a two block radius. Side streets are permit parking after 6pm. Meters on Halsted are $2.50/hr. ATMOSPHERE Willow Room was pretty packed. We had a reservation for 8:15pm and my party of two was seated right away. The restaurant features a full bar, dim lighting and is nice and roomy. They have banquette seating around the perimeter, in addition to tables in the middle. SERVICE Our server, who was very nice and accommodating during our dining experience, came by and gave us our menu's. I had already decided on the RW menu and after review, my friend was interested in the Beef Wellington (not on RW menu). Luckily, we were able to proceed with ordering from different menu's. FOOD I ordered a raspberry Cosmopolitan. I'm a Riesling/Moscato girlie, but I tasted the Riesling and didn't like it. RW dinner was priced at $60. I ordered: First Course: Caesar Salad (Typical salad, was good) Second Course: Mussels (Tasted fine, came with a baguette) Third Course: Short Rib (Could've been slightly more tender and better seasoned. I've definitely had better. Wouldn't order again.) Fourth Course: Orange Ricotta Donuts (Donuts were very good. Three were served, a few more would have been more filling.) My friend ordered a glass of Pinot Noir and: Truffle Fries (Fries were very tasty. I would order again if I went back.) Beef Wellington (The breading was buttery and very good. The beef could've been more seasoned. I wouldn't order.) Key Lime Pie (Was not sweet and had no taste. When our server came back and saw it was uneaten, she offered to take it off the bill. It should be removed from the menu altogether.) The busboys and server were very attentive. Our water glasses were always filled. OVERALL The atmosphere was nice, our server was great. Of all the food we ordered, I would order the truffle fries and Cosmopolitan again. I did leave full and did take my leftover Short Rib to go. Main dishes needed more seasoning. I would dine here again and try a different menu (brunch/lunch), or Happy Hour if they offer it.

Fried chicken was crunchy and good. A touch sweet for my liking but very good. Truffle fries were a big hit. Also had warm crab dip wish had quite a few shells/cartilage but flavor was good. The drinks were all very good too. Music was nice. You good hear it a vibe to it but it was too loud. We didn't have to yell or talk loudly. We were were celebrating all 4 of our upcoming June/July birthdays and she treats us like rock stars. Great job Genesis

While the table was on the sidewalk it was slightly set off and not on a busy street, so that was nice. While I only went inside to use the restroom, the vibes are interesting... I had their aperol spritz and it was okay. It was strong which was good. Then a pornstar martini. I thought the pornstar martini was really good and the best item of the evening. We shared oysters, the crab dip, and tuna tartare. The oysters were alright. The crab dip was funky. It was a bit fishy and maybe too heavy on the dill? I'm not sure but something was a bit off. The tuna tartare tasted fresh and was a good combination of flavors. It would be the only food item I'd reorder from the happy hour menu.
