We've had take out from here a few times. It's been very good each time. My husband and I order 2 entrees total and 2 orders of naan and we have enough for 2 meals each. We love the chicken tikka masala and the butter chicken. The tikka masala has smaller pieces/ chunks of chicken. The butter chicken has a little bit bigger pieces. Butter chicken has a more mild flavor compared to tikka masala, perfect for if you are new to Indian cuisine and not sure what to order. read more

I had never heard of this place until my husband brought it to my attention. When we wandered in, it was pretty empty but it was Christmas Eve. We had a pick of where to sit. It looked like it used to be a Chinese place. The employee there said that they will be remodeling the place soon. There was a small buffet but it was delicious. My children and I wanted to have Indian food for lunch but are new to the Milwaukee area so we used Yelp to find this place. It has a sweet little garden by the front door. The inside is clean and there are plenty of tables to dine in. People were coming for pick up deliveries the whole time we were there which was over an hour. Our waiter wore a mask the whole time, we took ours off after we ordered. The naan is out of this world! My daughter and I have been to India and we really felt like we were there eating our lunch it was that good! They had a sweet stuffed naan that we think is hard to find. The garlic naan was incredible! We thought the portions were perfect for lunch. I can't remember the names of all our dishes but we all finished every bite! One dish we shared was butter chicken. I don't know what happened here. When we first went in 2017, the food was great, prices good, no complaints, and I was happy to give a glowing review. The last couple times we've ordered, things have gone way down hill. For instance, the chicken korma. It's $13 but you're lucky if you get maybe 6 little chunks of chicken in the entire dish. The menu also says the korma has cashews and raisins in it, not a single one of either. It was incredibly bland. My husband ordered the tikka masala, a dish we have loved in the past, also bland. I had a similar experience in a previous visit with a mushroom dish I ordered, it was all sauce with literally four slices of mushroom in it. The naan is still good, but I don't think we will be back. It makes me sad, because initially, we loved this place. We like to support smaller, local businesses, and I do not write a poor review lightly, but for the price we pay here and the other great options nearby (e.g. Havana Cafe), we can't justify returning after several poor experiences. read more

My husband and I think this place is awesome. We've ordered take it from here a few times, and the food is amazing; full of deep flavors and spices. The chicken in both the tikka masala and the chicken makhani is incredibly tender. The cheese naan is also excellent. This place never disappoints. We chose India Palace over the other Indian places in the milwaukee area. We live 40 minutes away and order pick up every time we're in the area.. and sometimes make the drive just because we're craving it. The food has large portions, is so tasty, not too spicy when we ask for "no spice," and everyone there is super friendly. Highly recommended. We started coming here before the pandemic and have been back many more times for take out. We are big fans of Indian food and have lived in cities with great Indian food. India Palace is the best we have found in the area. We have some go-to dishes we get each time, the chana masala and the chicken tiki masala. We have tried a lot of other dishes and many are good, but some are not good or are not cooked consistently. The spice level varies widely even though we ask for the same spice level each time (medium to medium hot). Only once was a dish too hot. We have tried the other Indian restaurants in the area and this is the best for the dishes we like and because the people who work here are very nice. We want to support the restaurant that is closest to us so we'll keep coming here and getting our go to dishes and mix in different ones here and there. read more

I love Indian food and the food was actually good. I looked at the menu online and ordered accordingly. I had my boyfriend go pick up the food and he told me he paid 73 dollars for our food that should have been 57 (without tax) They didn't give him a receipt and they showed him the bill so their prices online must be wrong. ALSO we called ahead and they said it would take 45 minutes because they were busy. He gets there and waited an extra 20 minutes for his food and they were not busy at all. read more

Went here for the lunch buffet yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. I didn't expect much out of a buffet for this type of food, especially since the place is a really small storefront tucked away by a mall and doesn't look like much. but everything was delicious! I had a couple plates and sampled the chicken tikka, basmati rice, naan, salad with tamarind sauce, mixed vegetables, onion kutcha, dal makkhan, gulab, and kheer. Nothing disappointed! India Palace is a no-frills spot with solid food. Last time we were there, it took a bit longer than I would have liked to receive our food...but the finished product was worth the wait. We have been to this restaurant a few times before. The first time was very good, but it has progressively gone down hill since. The decor is half Chinese / half family restaurant. Part of that is torn off as well. When we visited this last time the restaurant was cold, and the only other patrons to come in left before ordering, stating it as the reason loud enough for us to hear. The complimentary papadum bread and relish that we were accustomed to was down to just one relish. It was tasty. I wanted to order a lamb dish, and they said it would have bones..... A first for me, so I had chicken curry. It was just ok. In my opinion if you have to salt Indian food then it's under seasoned. My wife enjoyed her meal. Went out to get dinner tonight fro Indian Palace restaurant on 76th st. at Rawson. WOW what a great dinner! We had lamb tikkaa masala, lamb korma and tandoori grill. and some sides. Also mango lassi. Everything was rich and delicious. Sean said the tandoori chicken was the best he ever tasted. The portions were generous, and it was hot and fresh. Indian Palace never disappoints. We have been here several times and each time we left with happy mouths. I had the palak paneer, garlic naan and vegetable samosas. The palak paneer was the prettiest green, which tells me it was super fresh and it tasted wonderful. The naan is excellent and not too bready. The ladies who take orders and serve are so gracious and attentive. Be warned the decorations are left over from an old Chinese restaurant but don't let that scare you away. Great Cuisine. I like the fact that they have fewer items but well made rather than a variety of junk stuff.

An update. We went for dinner tonight with two friends who are very picky eaters. We had appetizers, Naan breads, and four entrees. Let me say one word, AWESOME! We previously had the lunch buffet which was small but incredibly tasty and, most important, fresh! The owner/chef studied Indian cooking under an Indian chef and he's Indian as well. I should have taken pictures but the food is probably the best that my Other Half and I have ever eaten and we've had Indian food in a lot of places including London which is almost like being in India. Have the Paneer appetizers (awesome), the spicy garbanzo bean app, the garlic Naan will make you cry because it's so good!!!! I'm a fat man so I only payed attention to my food and I highly recommend the lamb Biryani. You need to love some spice (for lamb biryani) and, if you do, this dish will knock you off your feet. I admit that I want this place to survive the competitive world of restaurants. So, if you love Indian food, you need to drive to 76th and Rawson in Franklin and have your expectations surprised. The food here is amazing...and so are the owners! I have been a fan of Indian food for years. I have had it all over, including in Boston & New York, but I have to say this is by far the most delicious and authentic food I have tasted. It is so clean and fresh tasting, and being gluten free it is very easy to eat here. Whether we eat in or take out, I feel like I just got food served by family friends, fresh out of their kitchen where recipes have been handed down generation to generation. India Palace was my husbands first adventure into this type of cuisine ...and what an introduction. We are hooked. Now we visit every couple of weeks at the very least. read more

This place is fantastic! My husband and I went for dinner last night, maybe our 5-6th time visiting India Palace. The ladies in the front are always polite and accommodating. The food is consistently delicious. I usually get the chicken curry, my husband chicken tikka masala. Last night I got the tikka and he got butter chicken. Both fantastic. Rice perfectly cooked. Naan... so good. We also got an appetizer - little fried veg fritters (don't remember what they're called). We always leave satisfied and not weighted down with a big pile of greasy food like we would've if we'd gone someplace else. I think sometimes people are hesitant to try a cuisine like Indian because they think it will be super spicy and have all sorts of "weird" ingredients. This is definitely not true. We're lucky to have something other than burgers and tacos in Franklin. We're happy to support this locally owned little restaurant, and we hope they're here for the long run. Hidden gem in Franklin. Tried buffet couple of times and A la carte couple. They never disappointed us. Buffet doesn't offer a large variety of items. But whatever they serve is good quality. Best thing is they always give fresh naan bread. read more
