Some of my neighbors gave this place a big thumbs up for their food, prices, and friendliness. Since it's within walking distance, I thought to finally try it last week, and it was really good. I'm a huge fan of Chicken Tikka Masala, and India Kitchen's was really yummy! Very creamy, flavorful, and the chicken was nice and tender. I saw that they have a shrimp version, so that will be next for me to try. I also ordered the Chicken Saag, which was very nice, and I'll be trying the cheese version next time. If you're craving some good Indian food, definitely a worthwhile place to try! read more

I usually never write reviews, but India Kitchen has earned theirs! Everything I tried was spot on!! Chicken 65 fresh chicken sautéd in delicious spicy light sauce Madras chicken curry savoury curry that took me right back to my childhood home And tadka daal or daal fry. Delicious home style daal that was spot on. Korma was OMG. it was one of the best kormas I have had. The vindaloo was so fresh you could taste the ingredients. Delightfully delicious. In their breads I tried their chapati and garlic naan. At this point I have lost the ability to add adjectives. I used to rely on other Indian restaurants in the vicinity for my Indian fix but this place is leagues ahead in quality, timeliness and most importantly the delicious taste!! I have now tried their CHICKEN BIRYANI which was really good. Only suggestion is smaller pieces of chicken. But it is tender and dish was very fresh and Flavorful. Second time around I tried the PANEER VINDALOO and it was really good. Usually I don't get this good soft paneer from any other restaurant in New England so I highly recommend this restaurant for any of it's been a dishes.. MALAI KOFTA- gravy was nice. Dumplings were dry. They need to be softened or somehow served so they soften. You have to break them and let them sit for a bit to soften. NAAN- I always find them someone hard to chew as they are not hard but just resistant to breaking and chewing. RICE- so so good. Just an accompaniment to my main course. But so soft. Well steamed. HIGHLY Recommend. Will order and try other dishes from this restaurant!!! read more

I found my new hands down favorite Indian restaurant. I have the saag and it was fantastic, amazing flavor, not greasy or heavy.

I've ordered from here 4 or 5 times during the lockdown because it's right around the corner. This is probably the best indian food I have had in Boston. Servings are pretty generous and the price is reasonable. The Chicken Tikka and Samosas are great! read more

This place has amazing food. We have ordered 4 times in 2 weeks from this place. Chicken 65 is really good, you have to say you want it spicy to get a perfect chicken 65. I get coconut naan and it is delicious! I wish it was a little soft though. We are in love with bollywood wings! read more

A great Indian meal in Watertown. I hate to sound like an advertisement, but really, it was clean, delicious, and a cozy and bright place to sit. We had a dal with kidney beans that was perfectly spiced (we asked for it medium-hot), and a sag with tofu that was a gorgeous green color from loads of fenugreek. I love that you can choose either brown rice or basmati. The meals came beautifully plated with a side salad. The plain naan was pretty good too. There was a parade of people picking up their takeaway, so obviously the word is getting out! read more

Ordered delivery because of all the good reviews and we were all very disappointed. Things tasted like three day old leftovers, the okra stew was mushy and lumpy, the tandoori chicken was unchewable, and the lamb kebab some some kind of an orange entity with no lamb discernible in the mix. It was extra disappointing because we ordered extra to have leftovers for lunch the next day. A lot of money for a sad gastronomical experience. read more

Great addition to Watertown. I have tried both the dine-in and take-out services and the food have been amazing each time. We have tried several different dishes and they were very tasty from Saag paneer to the Paneer tikka masala to the Dal Makhani. The appetizers were also spot on. The garlic naan was fresh and tasty and if you are looking for a healthier option the chapattis also did not disappoint. I was excited to see that a new Indian place had opened at the corner of Lexington and Main! I was skeptical about kale pakoras but they were delicious! The chicken biryani was spicy and delicious with bone-in chicken pieces. I also had the garlic naan and paneer tikka, both of which were top notch! I will definitely be ordering again! read more

Shiva and his staff catered our covid pandemic wedding and our reception and we love him. We had a 169 guests and we thought the quality of food will drop from the tasting but it did not. Each dish was superb! He made us a gulag jamun cheese cake that was an absolute hit. Our guests said it was the best wedding food they had had. This place is amazing! We've tried a LOT of Indian food in the Boston area and have to say this one gets it right when most get it very wrong. Some of our favorite dishes are the Biryani and the Madras curry. They also give you the option to get brown rice and tofu as substitutes (Genius!). read more

I love this Indian restaurant! The food is so flavorful with a variety of options including meat, vegetarian & vegan, and gluten-free. Last night was my first visit and everything was delicious. I got the vegetable samosas, gobi Manchurian, and channa masala. Great flavors and spices. The restaurant is decorated with colorful wall paintings. Disappointed. My experience in the past with the food has been wonderful, but not yesterday. Before this it was absolutely the best Indian food I've had and I wasn't ever going to go anyplace else! Three of the items we got we had before so we knew what to expect. Pakoras were overcooked as was the rice and none of the food tasted good. It wasn't spoiled or anything, it was just dry and tasteless. Maybe the main chef is out sick or something. I'll give it a few weeks and try something small to see if things are back to normal. The management of this restaurant is questionable and a little strange. 1. There is a "cash only" sign prominently displayed in the restaurant for many months now - but it's NOT cash only. I always pay with a credit card. 2. The online menu lists items not on the in-store menu - but they are available. The in-store menu list of items is the most limited of their three menus. 3. Three menus? 4. Another reviewer noted the higher prices ordering online. Is that to make up for delivery costs without letting the customer know? Stupid because I pick up. read more

Really delicious food at India Kitchen. Owner of our beloved Walnut Grille, Siva Kumar, has continued creating unique and creative dishes at India Kitchen. Beginning with the chicken 65, one of Siva's favorites, we can quickly understand why this is a favorite. This dish is tangy, Southern spice infused chicken strips, curry leaf and ginger. Chicken 65 offers the palate a fabulous mixture of spices. We enjoyed the chicken madras curry, Which incidentally happens to be gluten-free, offering a tropical medium to hot flavored curry, Home Grown spices, mustard seed and curry leaves, served with basmati rice. We also enjoyed the Yogi Bowl. This dish was served with seasoned vegetables, chickpeas unlike I have ever tasted them, whipped spinach, brown rice, kale, soy cutlet, potato crisp and tamarind chutney. and if that wasn't enough, be still my heart! How I have missed the chai tea at our friends restaurant (Rasoi) and I have finally found it here, after three years of searching! Ordered delivery tikka Marsala and naan. Both were good, but I was surprised that for the prices the portion wasn't bigger although that may be delivery sizes. But standard good Indian food. I personally prefer Spice Delight which is more expensive but better and more generous portion sizes read more

We were very excited to see it open recently so we tried a take out from here as we are big fans of Indian food and there are not many options in Watertown. We were very impressed with the Dhal makhani, saag paneer and chicken karahi as well as the tasty rice and naan!
