We had a group dinner tonight and India Delight was great! The owner was very accommodating with taking our reservation outside their normal hours. We all opted for the buffet, but the server kept bringing different small plates...naan, small lamb chops, drumsticks, and a small puff pastry that I can't recall the name. I'm usually suspicious of buffets, but really enjoyed getting to sample the different selections. Desert was the mango ice cream along with rice pudding - everyone enjoyed it. I was stopped at a light by 618 Taphouse and saw a food truck at the corner. I pulled in to see what they had. The man inside gave me a sample of some really delicious tomato soup. Spicy but not too much that it masked the flavors. I ordered the lamb masala. It's been a while since I've had Indian food and I really enjoyed it. The lamb was so tender! It was served with cabbage salad, chick peas and basmati rice. I'm not a big fan of chick peas but he made them wonderful. The cabbage salad was outstanding. So I am still sitting at the table here, letting no it digest a little before moving around. This place was fantastic. We came here on a whim while driving and since this is the only Indian place within an hour drive of home I had to stop. The food was great and fresh. I want to single out something I liked the best I just can't pick one thing over the others. Don't let the basic decor turn you away. This place is great. The buffet is just a small part of the meal. It started with soup, then a samosa, the came chicken Marsala, then ribs, then you go to the buffet. I did try at least a bite of everything. So good. I will keep coming. read more

Found my new favorite as a hidden gem in Marion!! A buddy introduced me to it yesterday and it was so delicious I went back and ate there again the next day! Unexpectedly good for being a distinctly ethnic restaurant in a generally rural area. I came in for lunch and the owner greeted me warmly. He kept my drink filled and answered questions I had about the different Indian dishes on the buffet. He also brought out fresh naan for me twice! Went here the second time today and the experience was as good as the first. My original review of my first experience is below: Finally we're expanding our variety in restaurants in Marion. I'm not an expert on Indian food, though I've eaten it many times and almost always like what I try. What's great here is that they have a buffet so you can try everything and figure out what you like best. Some of the dishes are a bit spicy (the hottest was near my limit for enjoyable) but the owner goes table to table and asks if you'd like your dishes prepared fresh and more or less spicy. I suggested a sign on the spicy dishes warning customers, but don't know if he will take the advice. Overall the experience was great and we'll definitely be adding this to our list of usual dining spots. One last thing, the place is kinda hidden around the corner from the bank and next to a law firm and parking is nonexistent. Don't give up... keep looking til you find it. read more

The buffet at India Delight is solid. What makes it great is the naan, samosas, and tandoori chicken that they bring to your table in addition to the buffet. After climbing all day at Jackson Falls this restaurant was perfect. The mango lassi is also very good. read more

My fiance and I tried this today for the first time ever. The food was great. The young man and woman working were very friendly and welcoming. When I went to pay the elderly man working was very hateful and threatened to charge us for a third meal because we had gotten full and were not able to finish our meals. What an unexpected delight. I have to admit that my wife picked India Delight and when I heard it was buffet food I was not expecting much. I am very happy to say I was wrong. The food on the buffet was fresh and tasty, made in small batches. The soup was wonderful, I recommend the tomato soup. They brought out plenty of Naan Bread. Then the owner brought out several small dishes directly to our table and shared how they were made. But the finale to our meal was a simple bowl of vanilla ice cream with mango and rose syrup. My wife and daughter loved it. We left stuffed and very happy. I only wish we lived closer. read more

We are retired "natives" who search out food. This is real. Kimmie always comes out and chats with us. She knows our names. Nothing packaged about this food. The lunch buffet is about $9. The evening meal is $14 I think. But you need some education with the evening meal. First, sit and wait until Satish brings your 2 or 3 appetizers. Then go to the buffet. All done in the back kitchen. Don't forget the mango pudding to cool your mouth. Both owners are happy to engage you with talk about Indian food . This is simply quality and love. The staff is friendly (the owner/cook pops out frequently). They are largely geared toward you going to the buffet.
