Very expensive for the food they serve. No food in the buffet. Only good thing they did is served a sampler which is OK. Went to this place based on the reviews but missed the point that all were written by people who thought this is indian food. Anyways I can understand to an extent and can't expect too much as this is a small town. But don't say that's authentic Indian food. Finally Not a DELIGHT sorry. PS: This addition to the review is after the reply by the owner. Looks like he was pissed but the point he misses is that he assumes that I visit this place again to say him the food is not good on his face. Point to the owner: I never mentioned the food is bad in my review and I can't tell on some ones face even though if the food is bad. I'm really sorry for people assuming that it's authentic. Of course, I know that they don't have a choice. Moreover, I should be pissed because of the fact that I drove 1 hr for this food. read more

I always eat so much I'm stuffed. Love all the flavors and spices. People are very friendly and always bring extras to your table from the kitchen. read more

Great entree choices on the buffet for dinner even though it was an hour before closing, plus endless baskets of fresh naan. Ice cream to finish off. Very attentive service. Better than expected even with high expectations from Yelp reviews. read more

my mom and sisters like it. i've raided their leftovers they've brought home in the past and it was great. looking to get my projectile diarrhea problem under control so's i can go there. read more

I was stopped at a light by 618 Taphouse and saw a food truck at the corner. I pulled in to see what they had. The man inside gave me a sample of some really delicious tomato soup. Spicy but not too much that it masked the flavors. I ordered the lamb masala. It's been a while since I've had Indian food and I really enjoyed it. The lamb was so tender! It was served with cabbage salad, chick peas and basmati rice. I'm not a big fan of chick peas but he made them wonderful. The cabbage salad was outstanding. I'm so glad to know where I can get good Indian food in this area. Now I want to try his restaurant on the square. read more

So I am still sitting at the table here, letting no it digest a little before moving around. This place was fantastic. We came here on a whim while driving and since this is the only Indian place within an hour drive of home I had to stop. The food was great and fresh. I want to single out something I liked the best I just can't pick one thing over the others. Don't let the basic decor turn you away. This place is great. The buffet is just a small part of the meal. It started with soup, then a samosa, the came chicken Marsala, then ribs, then you go to the buffet. I did try at least a bite of everything. So good. I will keep coming. read more

This has been the been the most subtle dinning experience I have ever had and I rate it one of the finest family owned restaurants in the area, I cannot wait to share it with my family! read more

The India Delight food truck can be found outside of the Speakeasy liquor store most days. The food here is okay. I've never been to the actual restaurant, just to the truck. I prefer the Indian restaurant in Carbondale. read more

Found my new favorite as a hidden gem in Marion!! A buddy introduced me to it yesterday and it was so delicious I went back and ate there again the next day! The people very kind and polite and the food had great flavor! I didn't realize how bland the food is around here until you try something with flavor and a balanced mix of spices! I highly recommend this place! read more

My wife and I came here for lunch. We had been hesitant, because we didn't think you would find good Indian food in Southern Illinois. We were wrong. Not only was the food delicious, the service was also great. I would highly recommend anyone who is skeptical to give it a shot, I think you will be pleasantly surprised. read more

Just had a wonderful experience at this great, family ran establishment. The owner and his wife were really kind and considerate. The. food was exceptionally good, especially for a buffet. Will go back for sure! read more

I love this place and I love it even more now that I know there is a food truck! The food, price and portion is great. The tikki masala and mango pudding is my favorite. Really like their buffet, it gave me the chance to try something new. Owners were very nice when I went and made sure I left happy. read more

I've never liked tandoori chicken until I came here. Time after time, chef prepared the chicken from the oven directly to my plate. Don't know anyone can out do that. read more

Went here the second time today and the experience was as good as the first. My original review of my first experience is below: Finally we're expanding our variety in restaurants in Marion. I'm not an expert on Indian food, though I've eaten it many times and almost always like what I try. What's great here is that they have a buffet so you can try everything and figure out what you like best. Some of the dishes are a bit spicy (the hottest was near my limit for enjoyable) but the owner goes table to table and asks if you'd like your dishes prepared fresh and more or less spicy. I suggested a sign on the spicy dishes warning customers, but don't know if he will take the advice. Overall the experience was great and we'll definitely be adding this to our list of usual dining spots. One last thing, the place is kinda hidden around the corner from the bank and next to a law firm and parking is nonexistent. Don't give up... keep looking til you find it. read more

Unexpectedly good for being a distinctly ethnic restaurant in a generally rural area. I came in for lunch and the owner greeted me warmly. He kept my drink filled and answered questions I had about the different Indian dishes on the buffet. He also brought out fresh naan for me twice! They are vegetarian friendly, clearly labeling the dishes that are vegetarian. I enjoyed trying the different Indian dishes! read more

The buffet at India Delight is solid. What makes it great is the naan, samosas, and tandoori chicken that they bring to your table in addition to the buffet. After climbing all day at Jackson Falls this restaurant was perfect. The mango lassi is also very good. read more

My fiance and I tried this today for the first time ever. The food was great. The young man and woman working were very friendly and welcoming. When I went to pay the elderly man working was very hateful and threatened to charge us for a third meal because we had gotten full and were not able to finish our meals. That ruined the whole experience and we will not be returning. This was very disappointing because I had heard great things and was very excited to try out the restaurant. read more

Really happy we chose to stop by. They are very friendly and personalized our experience. Excellent value for the price!

They were very polite and the food was delicious with perfect amount of spice. Would recommend if inMarion.

A fantastic meal with great service. It was wonderful. Beat Indian cuisine in Marion and surrounding area!

Easily the best restaurant in Marion by far! Come hungry because you will be fed a lot here. The tomato soup is the best, and the ribs are even better! read more

What an unexpected delight. I have to admit that my wife picked India Delight and when I heard it was buffet food I was not expecting much. I am very happy to say I was wrong. The food on the buffet was fresh and tasty, made in small batches. The soup was wonderful, I recommend the tomato soup. They brought out plenty of Naan Bread. Then the owner brought out several small dishes directly to our table and shared how they were made. But the finale to our meal was a simple bowl of vanilla ice cream with mango and rose syrup. My wife and daughter loved it. We left stuffed and very happy. I only wish we lived closer. read more

The food was delicious and the service was amazing. The owners were so nice and genuinely cared that we had a great experience! They were also great with our kids. read more

Absolutely wonderful experience. The food is delicious and the owners were so nice. You are greeted with a genuine smile and taken care of immediately. The appetizers are brought to you in stages and then you are free to sample the buffet. Everything was unique and tasty. Out of all the Indian restaurants I have eaten at, this is by far the best! Great service and even better food. read more

Great food and service was excellent. They served us naan, samosas and chicken tandoori in addition to the full buffet. Super tasty.

It's not fast food. come here when you have a lot of time. People are super nice. Food is authentic Indian food.

We are retired "natives" who search out food. This is real. Kimmie always comes out and chats with us. She knows our names. Nothing packaged about this food. The lunch buffet is about $9. The evening meal is $14 I think. But you need some education with the evening meal. First, sit and wait until Satish brings your 2 or 3 appetizers. Then go to the buffet. All done in the back kitchen. Don't forget the mango pudding to cool your mouth. Both owners are happy to engage you with talk about Indian food . This is simply quality and love. Congratulation to Kimmie and Satish for bringing uptown dining into this fast-food town. read more

The food was excellent. Best samosa I've had in a while. It's almost hidden in a little corner alley of the roundabout but worth a second trip around to find. Friendly service and very good food. read more

Had the lunch buffet. Perfect! I will be back for dinner soon, hopefully with friends I can share this place with. Indian food is one of my very favorite types of cuisine and I've been waiting for an Indian restaurant to come to Marion for years! This one did not disappoint. Tandoori Chicken was very tender with delicious sauce and the naan was fresh and delivered to my table. Rice pudding was a great way to end the meal and enjoyed chatting with the very friendly owner. Pleasant atmosphere, great food and prices - you can't go wrong! read more

The buffet was fine, some of the food was definitely solid Indian fair, while others were geared to local folks. The owner was friendly. I suspect ordering from the menu would lead to better results. We were stopping through while traveling so we opted for the quick option. read more

The food was delicious. I have never had Indian food so this was a first for me. We came in for their lunch buffet after hearing great reviews. While waiting for the rest of our party, they brought us a chicken wing with special spices. It was delicious. The staff was super friendly. I strongly recommend coming for their lunch buffet if you are like me and haven't had much or any experience with Indian food. I can't wait to go back! read more

One of the best family restaurants in the area. Food is amazing, lots of variety from vegetarian to meat options. Menu changes every day, so you will never get bored. Hosts are very hospitable, always greet you with a smile and treat you like family. Very underrated place! read more

Great food and authentic spices. The Naan was just a little too oily and doughy tasting. I am a LOVER of Naan and have eaten it in different States around the US, but this one didn't quite hit the mark. (An easy fix...I hope) ;-) read more

Excellent. What a treat. Highly recommend. Owner treated us like we were dining at his home.

Really great Indian food. I have eaten Indian food in several parts of the world and I have to say the food here ranks up with the best

The food is very good, much better than any other Indian place anywhere nearby. For that reason I will frequent it. I would tell anyone who likes Indian food to go. The staff is friendly (the owner/cook pops out frequently). They are largely geared toward you going to the buffet. However at dinner they will often bring free appetizers- oddly without telling you they are coming. read more
