This is definitely my go-to store for Indian groceries. They carry a wide variety of products and brands and they are organized very well. The produce section is good too. The employees wear masks and gloves and social distancing is practiced for the most part. The store generally remains crowded during but they are normally well staffed to handle quick check outs. I tend to avoid shopping on the weekends and in the evenings, when there are way too many people. There are lots of parking spots available. Their rewards program is pretty good, if you tend to shop here regularly. You end up getting part of your groceries paid for, as you accumulate points based on your spending - 1 point for a dollar. read more

India Bazar - Valley Ranch, Irving, TX I recently purchased a 4lbs packet of raw peanuts from India Bazar in Valley Ranch, Irving, TX, and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. When I tried to consume the peanuts, I noticed an unpleasant taste right away. Upon closer inspection, some of the peanuts appeared to be moldy and rotten. The quality was clearly not up to standard, and it was not safe to eat. I am not sure how they are selling this low-quality product, it is completely against law, and they are playing on public health. As a regular customer, I expect better quality control, especially for packaged products. I had a very bad and humiliating experience from India Bazar at McArther, Irving, today. We have been shopping from this store ever since they opened this outlet. We had several similar experiences with regard to fresh coconut purchases from here. ie: when we open the coconut, many times, it was found those as rotten. We bought a coconut from this store on Friday, Dec 2nd, kept in the refrigerator and discovered that this was a rotten one when we opened it on Monday, Dec 5th. This time I thought I will take it back to the store. When I brought it back to them on the very next day, they straightaway refused to accept a return saying that it is 4 days since I bought it and cannot be returned per their return policy. I was very humiliated with that approach. For this reason, I am thinking of not shopping from them in future and to try other Indian stores like Patel Brothers. For those who buy coconut or similar items from here, please be cautious to check it immediately after buying it. Also, you get coconuts at a very cheaper rate than the $3 that you pay at India Bazar, from Walmart and other stores. India Bazaar grocery store is super convenient when needing fresh produce and Asian spices at great prices. It is shocking how much other supermarkets jack up the price on spices like turmeric and cumin. I can get a big bag of cumin at the same price of a small bottle at Kroger. And, saffron (a very expensive spice) is SOO much cheaper at IB! The produce section is small but they carry all of the staple items for Indian cooking at good prices. If you are hankering for some okra, it is much cheaper here. The lines for checkout are a nightmare, sad to say. Super slow and the employees seem to not be in any hurry and chat it up with customers. And it seems the employees are always surprised when they look up and see a white chick buying Indian items! This store is VIOLATING US consumer laws. This store does NOT refund or exchange a BAD product with receipt when the product is "opened" even though their receipt states that "unopened" items CAN be refunded or exchanged within 14 days. How can a US customer know whether product is good or bad WITHOUT opening the product?? I purchased a bottle of oil from them. Upon opening the bottle I found the oil is BAD. I went to return the new UNUSED bottle of oil within 7 days & they did NOT refund or exchange & instead threaten US customers. I am an American and my husband and I like coming to this Indian Bazaar a lot :) Actually, I like it more than Patel Brothers. It's a small mom and pop shop. Never overcrowded and plenty of neat things to look at and try. They also have a frequent shopper rewards program that's nice. Beware of expired products where the date has been scratched off or marked over! This place is incredible and typical low end desi retailing. We visited this place yesterday and while shopping my wife noticed that the expired packaged biscuits she was looking at just the week prior were on sale. When she picked up a package, she immediately noticed the expiration date was scratched off somehow. We then grabbed all 5 packages off the shelf and upset as we were for this type of pathetic retail practice, we took all of the product to the cashier upon checkout and pointed it out to her. She was courteous but definitely did not appear shocked. Instead she responded "there are lots of expired products throughout the store". From here she asked if I could take the products to customer service (the one man counter as you get in line for the registers). When I took it over to the girl that was at the counter she had the look on her face that she knew this was a normal practice for them. She didn't apologize at all. But instead she walked away and grabbed a stocker to go search for the shelf location for remaining product albeit my wife and I removed the remaining items. By this time my wife and I finished paying for the other groceries and soon left. I would recommend that if you shop here be very careful when it comes to buying anything that does not have or is missing an expiration date. This is a very bad practice and I hope they stop this nonsense type practice; else if I see this next time I'm in the store I will certainly make sure everyone in the store at that time hears my frustration. read more

Horrible and incompetent customer service (because underpaid staff, owners/managers never available - no contact info. per store clerks). 2. Dishonest owners (apparently), since, on multiple occasions found the prices on shelves marked deliberately much lower than what we were charged at cash register in spite of registering several complaints. Even the store clerks physically verified the wrong prices marked on the shelves but said they were helpless, and not allowed to change. Initially, they tried to shift the blame on the stocking person but week after week the same situation of wrong prices, and some for the same merchandise!. Unfortunately, many innocent shoppers don't discover the discrepancies and wrong charges because it is hard to remember prices of every item in a shopping cart full of merchandise. 3.Food items being sold after their expiry date, and when we tried to return it, they refused a refund. On many food packages, found the expiry date either smeared or illegible. Since only two main Indian grocery store chains scattered throughout the Metroplex, and a rather large Indian population, the owners are taking advantage of the captured market! read more

I am so glad this place is conveniently located, in plaza with other stores that I often go to. Puja items that are difficult to find, are also stocked up here. One stop shop when festivals line up on the calendar. Seasonal fruits, flowers also available. Have not had any incident of expired food/item. Yet. Reward point program is definitely a star extra. If you shop here often, you will pile on points to get $20 off after certain number of points. Clean, almost all of the times, I have been here. I swear, sometimes Indians are the worst. They advertise on their website that you can get food delivered for $5.00 and curbside pickup states nothing on the main page, but like always, there's a catch. The 2nd page states there's a fee of $4.99 for curbside pickup. I hope Krogers and Sams charge the owners of India bazaar when they go to pickup their food curbside, they deserve to be charged!! They then forgot items I already paid for, so Jyoti said I could come back for the items they forgot to pack (mind you she never mentions I will be refunded the service fee of $4.99 for their mistake), but instead states I can come back. Are you serious? There was also an issue of how they would refund, a store credit. You just gave me the worst service possible, why would I want to come back anytime soon?! Anyway, now I wait for my credit! So curbside is $4.99 and they might forget stuff, so they ask you to come back! The veggie coolers were mostly broken and empty. This looks much larger from outside. I was looking for very specific items, they did not have them. I was checking out and asked the cashier if she knew if I had just overlooked the product on the shelves or if they just didn't carry it. As the name suggests, it is an Indian store. The prices compared to other Indian stores are competitive. If you are looking to buy fresh vegetables at cheaper price this is the store. Indian lentils and spices are also cheaper. What not to buy: Milk, Coffee, Sugar, Buttermilk, Banana and some similar stuff you could find at Target or Kroger. BTW watch where you park. Shopping carts are randomly left around as there is no place for carts in the parking lot and of course the "chalta hai" Indian attitude only worsens the situation. read more

Has locally sourced as well as stuff imported right from India, Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh. 5. Good staff. Cons: 1. Although place is big enough, its gets crowded very fast. Coming here of weekend evenings is act of valor and patience. 2. Check out line wait is as good as Costco's. (read long long lines especially on weekends) 3. Extremely stringent return/exchange policy. Just assume, nothing is returnable. They seem to follow the Indian shop motto - (All sales are final. Goods once sold will not be exchanged or returned back.) 4. Competitor coupons acceptance is a hit or miss (later being more probable) 5. Mobile app is dumb. It only stores membership number. It never loads any mobile coupons advertised in the store. 6. Shopping carts will be found lying in parking spaces. Blame it on laziness of shoppers. 7. They almost have no equivalent competitor in Irving area. So they rarely run promotions being run in their other stores in Richardson, South Irving etc. 8. Last but most important. Some of the items do not have clear manufacturing or expiration dates. So beware. Take it or leave it. Produce is great quality but kind of pricey at times. I really don't mind shopping here esp since they have their own card system and a redbox like kiosk for Indian movie rentals. What I do mind is standing in a huge line for about 15-35 mins to checkout with my 5-10 items. I've only seen the express line open once when I have come here. It's not the store's fault though on the long ass lines. They always have 3-4 registers open. The problem is the consumers who have no respect for the employees or the fellow shoppers. More than once I have seen people fill up 2 shopping carts at a time during the busy hours so checking out takes forever and at the end, they wanna know if they can get multiple gifts with purchase since their totals were over $75. I've never seen such an absurd argument for a steel container as free gift. The other thing I've also witnessed is ladies coming in with a pretty filled cart and AFTER the girl is done ringing her up, the lady will walk outside to get her purse from the car. -_- really? the salesclerk and the rest of the customers standing in line will of course get upset. So, if you're one of these people I described up above, pls understand you're ruining the experience for the rest of us and stop behaving like children. And for those of you who are normal, considerate human beings who live and let live, be prepared to see some behaviors that deserve public spankings if the person was a 5yr old. read more

As far as Indian specialty stores go, this place is very clean and neat by comparison. They have a mediocre rewards program, and a hefty selection of all things Indian (seems like the South Indian selection could use improvement). Some of their prices on produce are fantastic, especially Tindoora. I would here to stock up on Basmati rice and Tetley tea. Also, as somebody else said, they don't take returns, so make sure you know what you're buying. Ultimately places like this reduce their selection over time, and products begin to age on the shelf. read more
