I went in to get remote start added to my car, that service was done perfectly and I had no complaints when I got my car back, then a few days later my dashboard screen started bugging and glitching out. I took my car back and they offered to take a look even though they knew it wasn't attached to any work they previously did. Only 20 mins later they were able to determine that it's a common issue with my car and they even offered to fix it, though they don't usually do that type of work. They had me order the part on Amazon, charged me a flat labor fee an asked me to comeback for the install. When I went back for the install it took them maybe 30 mins and it was completely fixed and recommended a shop if the issue ever happens again. Given that the month of February in KC has now become winter in Antarctica, I decided that getting my wife a remote start was a great anniversary gift. I was able to get an appointment quickly (thanks to whomever cancelled theirs!). There are a couple of options to choose from (as in do you need your car started from 1000-ish feet away or up to a mile). For around $300 I was able to get the cheaper of the two options installed. The store is fun to browse around and you can even sit in the home theater mock up area while you're waiting. I only had to wait about 2 hours for the install. I have a Mustang GT Premium with the 12 speaker Shaker Pro system including subwoofer. Wonderful factory system but left more to be desired. After a lot of research on the best place to take the car to for a full system upgrade while retaining the factory Ford Sync head unit all fingers seemed to be pointed at Independence Audio being the folks I could trust the vehicle with. There are a lot of electronics in these new vehicles these days, I wanted it done properly because it is a vehicle I have been doing a lot of mods to and plan on keeping for the long haul. I live almost 2 hours away down in the Ozarks but was willing to travel for quality and piece of mind. They were booked out a little while if course but what reputable place isn't, I didn't mind waiting. I dropped the car off for a few days and they replaced all the speakers, subwoofer and factory amp with JL Audio all the way around. Couldn't be happier with how clean the install was and the sound quality. You pop my hood or look inside the interior of the car you can't even tell these folks were in there other than the bass knob installed neatly in the console by my shifter. Pop the trunk and the subwoofer and amplifier are tucked neatly out of the way with room for cargo and access to the spare tire and jack. 100% worth every penny. Chris Stroud was my rep and was very smooth and informative to work with from the first phone call to my back and forth with questions and kept me updated through the entire process. I had stopped here for a new stereo head unit in my truck.. I picked the the one I wanted and arranged for the installation. I got in my truck after the installation and everything looked good but the sound was not good.. it was flat and had not been adjusted for proper sound.. and my I phone charger was missing. The apple car car would not work properly with my iPhone and it seemed like a mess to me.. I was not happy going in for the second time.. The sales associate Justin helped me get it all fixed.. he actually took the time to figure out what was going wrong and spent the time in my truck with me adjusting the sound and adding the parts I needed to make it all work together.. he even ran updates and did not charge me any further installation charges. Laptop audio connection! I went in looking for help getting my laptop computer to connect to my home theater and outdoor speakers. Wasn't sure what the least expensive way to do it would be. Dave and I discussed different options and in the end, a simple $27.00 audio/video cable was the solution. I can now play my entire iTunes library and stream Spotify etc., to my outdoor speakers around the pool! This place is fantastic. I worked with Isaac to replace the entertainment system in my car. He was incredibly knowledgeable about each of the products they had to offer and I felt confident that I was going to be getting a great system and that there wouldn't be any issues with the new system "talking" to the other areas of my car, like my steering wheel buttons and USB ports. They installed it in just a couple of hours and it looks factory! It's a major upgrade from what I had before. Late last year I began a major upgrade of my aging speakers and electronics and this is the only authorized dealer around KC for GoldenEar Speakers. Even when I improper hooked-up a temporary amp which resulted in damaging my new Triton Ones, they were able to repair the speaker so I could enjoy them in all their glory. I was stupid and didn't price check before buying a touchscreen Bluetooth stereo, and they got me for an extra $250! I won't make that mistake twice. I paid for 3 hours of installation and it only took 1 1/2-2 hours. My installer was very professional and polite, the other installer was an absolute jerk. The installation was AMAZING!!! It looks so professional and actually looks like factory work! I love the installation. It gets 10 stars, but the mark ups; lack of generosities (coffee, drinks or any sacks) and the other personalities drags down this installation. Dec 9th Scott called me personally (the store manager or owner) and we had a very talk. He explained the charge that I thought was a labor charge was actually an abbreviation for a part that I needed to mount my stereo. We had a very good talk about websites like Jet.com (the site that I found the stereo cheaper) was all refurbished or disturbed shipping stereos with no warranty. I was sent to Independence Audio by the Kia dealer to try and do something with my very cheap sound system in my 2015 Sorento. When I walked in the door there was one clerk and one customer so I waited patiently, Chris came out of the back room and asked who was next, as I said, I am, a person who came in after me rushed up and put some items on the counter. I thought that was pretty rude but waited, When Chris had waited on the line jumper he didn't even look at me but waited on the next guy who had came in the door behind me. That was enough. On my way out the door the clerk who was with a customer when I came in asked if I had been waited on. I said no and left. I called from the car and Chris seemed to find the situation very funny and said they couldn't tell who was there first. The other clerk knew who was there first and should have said something.
