This is our first time ordering from Indi Spice. We ordered Samosas and Buttered Naan for appetizers. Both were cooked perfectly and flavorful. For our meal, we ordered Meat Platters, one mild and one hot. The flavor was A* - food tastes delicious and the presentation was on point. I took 2 stars off because the quantity of the food I felt for our meals was overpriced. Also, usually when I order a Meat Platter at other similar restaurants, they come with rice. We pretty much just had 2 plates with meat and onions. We would return but probably for appetizers and coffee. read more

I ordered takeout tonight from Inde Spice. It used to be Deccan Spice, however, new owners. I was very impressed with the food, it was delicious and tasted like homemade cooking. I'm a desi and have gone to indian restaurants in Hicksville, Queens and must say this is by far the best. I ordered Dum Goat Biryani, Dhal, Bhindi masala and samosa. All mildly spiced. I was concerned ordering mild spice since most places either disregard it or lose flavor. I must say Inde Spice did an outstanding job and did not lose any flavor and it was mild. I order it mild for my wife who is American and does not like too much spice. She loved it! The dhal was amazing, reminded me of my Mom's cooking. Bhindi was soft and very well cooked, the Biryani was outstanding and the Goat was cooked perfectly. This is my go to Indian place from here on out and I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great Indian Restaurant! read more

On a busy Saturday night our pickup order of 2 entrees and Samosas was not ready upon arrival and took another 20 minutes for a total of 1 hour since the order was placed. Seemed under staffed. Meat portions were small for the price. We like spicy and ordered dishes at normal spice level, which was way too much. Ate what we could, stomachs still burning a bit the next day. It was smelling as it was cooked in oil that was not changed for long time. It was inedible. Also the chicken tikka masala was watery and not creamy as you would expect. Also the portion is so small for the price. I paid about $40 for just those 2 items and for that price you would expect a quality food and good portion. I had to throw them. Had a very enjoyable dinner at this small unassuming restaurant. Cauliflower flower appetizer and samosas were delicious. Lamb vindaloo had good heat and flavor as did the chicken tikka masala. I'm used to having to make a trip to Hicksville for good Indian, so I was stoked to see good reviews for a place just a few minutes from home. It's an unassuming spot in a strip mall, but don't let that hold you back--the food is amazing. I got the $8 chicken tikka masala with rice lunch special and added on a piece of naan for an extra $1 and, wow, was it a pleasant surprise. The chicken was melt in your mouth tender, so flavorful and nicely spicy. The naan was fresh and delicious and perfect for soaking up the extra tasty sauce. I will be back to try other things on the menu. The lunch special is an amazing deal and the portions are generous, so I will be a lunchtime regular from now on. They also have plexiglass partitions up for indoor dining, which is reassuring in the age of COVID. So happy to have found this gem. Flavor of the dishes were great but I ordered for 6 people and you would think 8 variety of entrees would do--I ordered chilli shrimp and there were only 5 shrimps and another chicken dish which came in a large container with a half inch layer of the curry. The Food is alright. I ordered Butter chicken which came with Basmati Rice and also ordered Butter Naan, which was delicious btw.. But the Main Dish - Aka the Butter chicken was OK.. Tried take-out from restaurant for the first time on New Year's day and loved it! The saag paneer was delicious, the best that I have had on the Island. It came with large cubes of paneer and was not oily. It was ordered mild and it was perfect. Amazing food!! You can taste the authenticity in every bite! I had the pleasure of meeting Neeraj Sethi who catered towards my family in every way possible.. he even offered pillows for comfort! He went out of his way to make a special kind of chicken dish for my niece and nephew since they were craving chicken nuggets. While they didn't necessarily have chicken nuggets on the kids menu, he actually made the dish anyways from scratch! It satisfied their craving, and they absolutely loved it. Absolutely fantastic Indian food!!! This is now my family's favorite go-to indian spot!!!! My husband and I dined once and it was a Fabulous experience. A bit cold in the restaurant(temperature wise) but the food definitely made up for it. The owner is such a sweet, gentle, kind man who explained everything about the dishes and even recommended some things that we fell in love with and now request when we go back! The rest of the staff is so pleasant as well. Second time we chose to do takeout and bring food home and it was as delicious as it was when we had it freshly made at the restaurant! The food is OUTSTANDING! Flavors are out of this world. We asked for mild the first time just to be on the safe side and we actually wanted it spicier the next time we ordered. Had the 10$ lunch special..typical the restaurant makes a lunch special to entice you for lunch and like other establishments they do the bare minimum make it as cheap as possible for the price I rather it be more $ and delicious and eye appealing then feeling like I'm being punished for your offer of 10$.. the rice is tasteless no seasoning nothing added at all.. the chicken tikka sauce was good but it was more like a chicken soup all sauce only 4 small pieces of chicken was maybe 5 oz portion .. but the best was being charged $2.50 for a can of soda the soda cost them 33 cents .. that is ridiculous I'm sure the owner buys his items at restaurant depot.. soda is 12$ a case of 24 I won't be back.. read more

This is in a nice shopping center, and what caught my eye about Indie Spice was the nice yellow font that titles the place. I originally was going to go in another food place nearby, but I felt this was a nice change and culturally influenced. The food was really good and they were great service. I had the spinach and chicken curry, which was so yummy. I like a nice cooked meal so that is why I really enjoyed it. Even better when the owner is such a nice pleasant man who kept explaining about the food to everyone who walked in.
