While the restaurant isn't high-end when it comes to…read morethe look (it features faux-brick wallpaper, dated booths, basic ceiling tiles, plastic-laminated menus, & tiny dispenser paper napkins), the hospitality & food completely make up for it. Despite the casual setting, they include some lovely touches like heavy copper pitchers & glasses for water, sleek individual LED lights at each table, a few beautiful Indian-style hanging mosaic lamps from the ceiling, & fantastic background Bollywood music playing (for example, "Tere Naina" from My Name Is Khan). It's also always a great sign when you see local Indian folks eating here too. The staff is exceptionally pleasant & attentive, & it's fantastic that they offer dedicated, separate vegetarian & vegan menus alongside their traditional meat offerings. The food was fantastic across the board. The Dahi Puri was creamy, tangy, & crunchy, making for absolute perfect little bite-sized flavor bombs. The Paneer Tikka Tandoori was marinated beautifully with amazing depth of flavor, finished with a great char straight from the tandoor on the paneer, peppers, & onions, plus just the right touch of spice. Dipping it into the mint chutney swirled into yogurt sauce was delightful. The butter naan was to die for with its warm, amazingly buttery, perfectly baked texture. To top it off, the mango lassi was great & very tasty, even though it comes served in a plastic takeout cup. The food was so good that I ended up ordering more to go to share for lunch tomorrow! My only real complaint is wishing they weren't so far away. Overall, it's a fantastic spot if you're looking for authentic, delicious, flavorful Indian food & warm service over fancy decor.

Luckily we had the place to ourselves because the owner was so helpful with deciding what to have. We got the pani pori, gobi Manchurian cauliflower, vegetable samosas, garlic naan, chicken curry and kadai chicken curry. The pani pori comes with veggies inside and a delicious tamabrind sauce. The cauliflower dish was my favorite! It's in a spicy/sweet sauce and fried. You could eat it plain or with a side. The samosas and naan were also delicious. The naan was so fresh and the texture was perfect. The curries were flavored well and the portion size was large enough that it could serve two people. The atmosphere was at inde spice was great. Came here for the very first time today with my brother Peter and his daughter Kristina. Based on…read moreall the overwhelmingly positive reviews on social media, we decided to try the daily All You Can Eat Lunch Buffet for $24 per person. I'm 65 years old and have lived here on Long Island all my life in Suffolk, Nassau and Queens counties. I've been to many different restaurants over the years....and the Lunch Buffet at Saffire has to be hands down THE BEST dining experience that I've ever had in terms of FOOD, VALUE and absolutely the HOSPITALITY. It's great to be able to find such a new and wonderful Indian restaurant. THE FOOD: So let's start of first with food. An absolute 15 OUT OF 10 STARS!!! The Goat Meat was the most TENDER and TASTIEST I've ever had! The Tikka Marsala Chicken and Tandoori Chicken were also incredible. The Vegetable Samosas, Curried Spinach, Haka Noodles, Rice and Naan Bread...all were amazing!! And the Mango Lassi with Rose Petals was such a sweet and welcoming accompaniment. Without a doubt, Saffire has THE BEST Indian cuisine that I've ever had!! THE VALUE: What more can I say other than an ALL YOU CAN WANT LUNCH BUFFET FOR ONLY $24??? Most SOLID VALUE on Long Island...period!!! Definitely looking forward to coming for dinner to experience some more WONDERFUL tastes of India!!! Check out their menu at https://saffireli.com/menu THE HOSPITALITY: I can say with absolute truth that this is the very first restaurant that has ever made me feel like a treasured member of the family from the moment we walked in the door to the moment we walked out. ***I have to especially thank MICHAEL for his SINCERE PRESENCE and ABSOLUTE EXCELLENCE in making sure our first visit exceeded all expectations. The time we spent conversing with him today GUARANTEES a return visit to Saffire. And thanks to Michael's recommendation...I also discovered how much I like Chai Tea. Michael also introduced us to the owner Chani and his lovely wife so we could express to them directly how positive of a first visit we had. Meeting them both also enhanced how welcomed we all felt. We also loved the decor and ambiance of the restaurant. A wonderful environment in which to enjoy a truly delicious meal. So to summarize: AN ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS LUNCH BUFFET AT AN AMAZING VALUE, ALONG WITH THE WARMEST AND SINCERE HOSPITALITY YOU'LL EVER EXPERIENCE!! Please visit Saffire...and ENJOY the experience!!

My favorite Indian restaurant is about a 30-minute drive away, so I wanted to find something closer to the beach we were visiting. We decided to try the lunch buffet here and loved everything! I'm not sure if it's completely authentic, but I can tell you...it's really good! We will absolutely be back!

No one greeted us so the people without food said "we think you just sit yourself" So we did. And we waited. A few minutes later another couple came in and did the same thing we did - popped their heads in, confused as to whether this was an actual restaurant or just a live play of people sitting at tables with no food and no menus and no staff in sight. Finally a frazzled young man came out from the kitchen and yelled "it's just me working, it's only me!" That was all we needed to know about this restaurant and we booked it out there. As we were leaving the parking lot we noticed the other people were also leaving. I have no idea what was actually going on. Why was it only one non-Indian person working on a Friday night? I was excited to try Mango but this experience really soured me. We went to Atithi in Hicksville instead and had an authentic, delicious meal. I would not recommend Mango.

So, I automatically lowered my expectations before going to Mango. We are, after all, in Long Island. My expectations were correct. The food here is very Americanized; extremely mild flavors (bordering on bland). I also ordered my entree "spicy" but what I received was very mild (both in flavor and spiciness). On a positive note, customer service and hospitality was very warm and friendly. The restaurant was decorated very nicely and was very inviting. Parking is available in the shared lot in front of the restaurant but the spots are limited. Mango does have a large menu with a nice variety of dishes. I just wish the food was prepared more authentically. Bolder flavors would do wonders for Mango!

I came here last week for an event, and got to enjoy basically a tasting menu of sorts…read more This menu took Indian flavors on a seriously fun ride. From rich and smoky to spicy, tangy, creamy, and refreshing. Banjara Tikka brought tender chicken thighs layered with yogurt, fried onion and garlic. Mauryaji Basket Chaat delivered chickpeas, potato, tamarind, mint, pomegranate and a creamy yogurt mousse. The Chicken Seekh Kebab was perfectly seasoned and savory with pickled laccha onion, while the Guntur Chilli Chicken Bao turned up the heat with Guntur red chili, sesame and refreshing beetroot shikanji shots. The vegetarian dishes absolutely held their own as well. Chilli Momo with carrot, sesame and seaweed, came out with a soft, delicate bite and a subtle chew, filled with a lightly spiced vegetable mix that leaned savory and aromatic rather than overpowering heat. The Paneer Makhni was rich, velvety, and deeply comforting. The paneer stayed soft and pillowy, soaking up a buttery tomato-cashew gravy that was slightly sweet, gently tangy, and finished with that unmistakable fenugreek aroma that tied everything together. The mains were just as unforgettable. Laal Maas came in bold and unapologetic. Tender goat slow-cooked until it practically melted off the bone, swimming in a deep, smoky gravy built on mathania chilies that brought slow heat. The Shrimp Malai Curry was the complete opposite in tone. Silky coconut milk wrapped around plump tiger shrimp, with Bengali whole spices adding a gentle sweetness and aromatic depth that made the dish feel light yet indulgent at the same time. And somehow dessert still had room to impress. Rose Kulfi was creamy, floral and sweet without being overwhelming. Drinks included everything from the floral, mezcal-and-rooza Gulabo to Mango Lassi. And as someone who historically doesn't like anything rose flavored, I enjoyed both the drink AND the dessert. Just as good as the food, was the service. It is definitely a spot that should not be missed.

My only complaint? My stomach has a limit…read more My family and I have been coming to Diwan for years, and this is hands down our go-to spot for Indian all-you-can-eat. I used to frequent the Indian buffets in Jackson Heights, and honestly, Diwan is just as good, if not better! One thing I really appreciate is that they have their own parking lot, the dining room is spacious, and as a parent, I was thrilled to see they have baby high chairs. Those little details make a big difference. We stopped by for their weekday AYCE special at just $15 per adult, which is an incredible value! My plate always ends up looking the same because I can't resist the chicken biryani, palak paneer, and that rich, creamy butter chicken. Oh, and they mostly use chicken thighs! So tender and moist! I keep telling myself I'll try something different... then I walk back with the exact same favorites. No regrets. We also ordered the mango lassi, and it was fantastic! Just a little tip: it comes with ice by default, so if you prefer it without ice, just let them know when ordering. The food quality has been consistently excellent every time we've visited, and the service has always been warm and attentive. Another thing I enjoy is how peaceful the dining room is. It's not loud or chaotic. Everyone seems completely focused on the important business of enjoying their food. A couple of helpful tips: the buffet is dine-in only, so you can't pack up buffet food to take home. If you're ordering takeout, you'll need to order from the regular menu instead. They also offer children's pricing for the buffet, so if you're unsure about the details, just give them a quick call. If you're craving great Indian food without emptying your wallet, Diwan continues to be one of my favorite AYCE spots. Highly recommended!

There's also plenty of beverage options. We've been back twice already and anticipate many more visits.
