DIY Build Your Own Bowl - they forgot to put the chicken
Anna D.

I wanted to try this place for a while and had high hopes - unfortunately I was missing half my order and what I did get was missing the protein and toppings. Nothing like being hangry in the middle of a work day only to pay $17 for some rice, sweet potato, daal and a few leaves. My friend that did get the chicken said it was fine but needed more seasonings and spices - not what one hopes to hear from an Indian place. My other friend said an additional sauce is definitely necessary for the Green Mango Chicken Breast Bowl. I called via the only option the app would give me and the store picked up - they couldn't seem to locate my order even after providing my name and order number, and then said they would refund me. I couldn't get clarity on what and was too hungry to deal with further incompetence tbh. I had ordered for pickup and was not able to walk back AGAIN.

Inday has arrived in midtown East! A fast casual Indian eatery catering to everyone, this is a great lunch spot. A full menu of popular Indian dishes with many vegetarian options. Was hoping to try the masala chai, but they were out. Instead the freshly made lemonade with ginger & Tumeric was great! All of the food was outstanding! The roasted sweet potatoes are to die for! Crispy & well seasoned, but tastes like regular potatoes not sweet potatoes. The bowl, samosa, side of roasted potatoes, & lemonade was almost $30. Note the address may be confusing via maps, but it is on the corner of E. 54th & Lexington right next to Shake Shack. It's a small place. They offer ordering on electronic screens or with a cashier. With only 2 small tables inside it's more of a meal to go spot. No restrooms.

Congrats Inday on a successful grand opening at your new location! I got the chance to try their Saag Paneer salad, which was tasty and had a good mix of health and Indian culture. It does feel like a fast casual concept rivaling Sweetgreen, Dig thus I'm excited to try more of their menu items. This location feels specifically catered to the 9-5 workers, so this is ideal for a quick lunch run.

Golden Chicken Curry

New INDAY location that popped up this past week. Went during their opening day and was able to enjoy their golden chicken curry over rice. The curry chicken was tender and juicy while the pickled vegetables gave the dish a bright and zesty note. The curry was lying on a bed of basmati rice, which was a bit mushy to my liking. However, it was a good quick and easy meal for lunch.

I always passed by here and liked the trendy, bright beach interiors. The food is delish - simple healthy classics with lots of fresh ingredients and delicious flavors! I ordered the fire egg wrap and couldn't have the spicy sauce so the server, Bryan, brought 2 other sauces (pura vida and Caesar) for me to enjoy. The pure vida sauce was a herby green with mustard that was so good. There's lots of seating space with clean bathrooms and polite and prompt service throughout. I thoroughly enjoyed my food and time here.

Lots of delivery orders are being done. Customer service is good here as a few people came up to ask if I needed anything extra. The first bite of the raspberry croissant was a little hard but now it's fine. The raspberries are oozing flavor and the pastry cream inside is also tasty. I could eat another.

I got the spicy and it is low spice level - packed full of flavour, spaghetti squash is tomatoey and delicious, all the veggies I had were perfectly cooked and seasoned - I also tried the cauliflower and broccoli (not pictured) which were great. This is one of the few truly healthy takeout options that isn't packed full of salt sugar and additives - it tastes fresh, delicious and light. Though the portion looks quite small, it is actually very satisfying (and I can eat a lot) They get super busy (good for them as a small business!) so be aware of this when ordering at peak times in terms of wait time - my only complaint is, it is pricy - the steak in particular is quite a significant add-on. That being said, I paid for it twice in one day, so it is clearly worth it, but if I wasn't visiting - and this was a regular go-to - I would like to see prices a little more competitive. I'd been to sweetgreen once before years ago, but never this location. Upon walking in I realized…read morethat ordering is now done through the kiosk, so that took a minute to get used to. This is a busy location, and all kiosks were being used, so there was a bit of a wait. I placed my order and went to find a seat - unfortunately all the tables in here had some kind of dressing or trash on them, so I had to make due and clean up after the last person who left. My bowl was ready in about 5 minutes or so, was made correctly and had generous amounts of all the toppings I had picked - though the piece of salmon I got was really small and dry. Overall, not a bad place to eat lunch if you're looking for something healthy and don't mind dropping $20 on lunch. I do miss the days of watching them build my bowl so that I could've asked for a better piece of salmon.

And it doesn't have that dead space on the 2nd floor where though there may have been a place for you to sit, didn't mean that you'd necessarily enjoyed yourself there: Chances were that'd you'd have to hear someone's conversation in person or on the phone, as if you were on the subway. None of that here now with 4, albeit generous, seats facing the window: The expectation now is that during the lunch rush, you're going straight back to your desk or, if it's nice outside, sit outside (so a great use of the car-free section of Broadway). I had the Hot Chicken Plate: It was the special for folks with the SG app so I thought, why not. I picked double quinoa, blackened chicken, sweet potato and everything else you can see in my photo. The warm quinoa and the chicken were fantastic: You know SG is making a play for Chipotle's customers by offering what's basically a rice base with a chicken and salad topping. I was not a fan of the spicy broccoli which I found too salty. If you overload your plate with toppings it will easily go over the Chipotle price point: You'll know what's happening now that you have to enter it all in yourself on one of 3 tablets at the counter that divides the public from the kitchen. Can't wait to see the lunch crowd at the new spot!
