Husband and I were craving sushi after a full day of skiing on a Wed night. Found Inda Sushi on yelp. Service was great. We were seated right away and the gentleman who waited on us was very pleasant. It is a sushi fusion restaurant so when browsing the menu, some sushi dishes looked quite unfamiliar or unusual. But don't let that deter you from tasting them. We ordered calamari and edamame for appetizers and for the main entre I ordered the Hot Uncle and hubby ordered the Salt & Pepper sushi rolls. Both were delicious and were recommended by our server. They serve big servings. For the sushi rolls- no need to dip in soy sauce- it is already very flavorful. Being from Southern California, you'd think that we would have had the best sushi from there. But I'm thrilled to say that that is not the case. Oh we've had great Sushi - but then we tried Indah Sushi and our world was rocked! Have you ever had sushi tacos? This is our 1st time... they were so creamy and so fresh and just delicious! I am going to admit that we over indulged ...and every single roll that we had was - I don't even know - could it have been better then the one before??? Our drink of choice was huckleberry haze... I was really excited to try this place after receiving a recommendation from a local. Unfortunately, I don't believe it deserves the praise it gets. As someone who works at a five-star sushi restaurant, I found the only remotely appetizing thing we ordered was the edamame--and even that could have been much better. They tried way too hard to be creative with the sushi. Instead of crafting unique, flavorful rolls, they ended up serving what felt like a chaotic mess of ingredients. There's absolutely no reason my wasabi aioli should have tasted like plain mayonnaise. And honestly, why did I think a roll covered in leeks and dill seasoning would be a good idea? Beet-infused rice? It tasted exactly as awful as it sounds. I should have trusted my gut--this was a mistake. My family left behind a platter of picked-over rolls (we just ate the fish, which was surprisingly good), and that's saying a lot, considering we're usually the type to clean our plates. Do not go here. It's a real shame that this is considered some of the best sushi in the area. Wake up, people--you have better options! read more

It is not my desire to intentionally sink a business, especially one that has improved its service based on the older reviews I've read. So I first want to celebrate what I think is working well: - the wait time for my food was pretty reasonable - my waiters were attentive and friendly - the ambiance was pleasant and trendy Honestly, everything was pretty terrific until I got to my order itself. I ordered the Kinda Lingers, and when it arrived I had a feeling I shouldn't go for it, because the fish seemed to be off-color. However, I'd come all the way to Whitefish to try it off a recommendation, and felt guilty having spent as much as the menu charged just to refuse the food, so I ate it. It was inoffensive at the time (if not bland), but I am now feeling the consequences of ignoring my gut feeling about the fish. I have been violently ill for the past hour, with no other evidential culprit, and strongly suspect it to be the result of this experience. I'm not sure if it's an issue with a supply chain or what, but my experience with food quality has proven negative for my health. I don't even quite know where to begin with this review because your night was just freaking fantastic. First, a huge thank you to the staff to be willing to take us as their final table of the evening. And second, thank you for making this one of the most fun dinners! Let me paint the picture with how much fun we had here. The staff must have heard us talking about a song we wanted to hear, and no joke, they turned up the speaker system in the place (yes, we were the last customers there) and let the song rip! Literally, Bring 'em Out by TI and Jay-Z was pumping through the speakers and we got to have the best COVID dance party. Our quarantined bodies needed that moment to let loose and it was so refreshing to have such a fun staff. Thank you! Now onto the amazing sushi! Wow, these rolls were just fire. The spicy scallop nigiri was legitimately one of my favorite sushis ever! I was in buttery, spicy, heaven! Simply incredible. My Lady June roll (think that's the name) was perfection too. On our last night in Whitefish, and after a 12 mile hike at Glacier National Park, I was ready for something special. We don't normally have sushi when traveling but we're enticed by their awards. We ordered miso soup, the Indah roll (their version of rainbow roll) and 10-piece sashimi. The staff was great, but the food came out sooooo slow. The miso soup came out quickly but waited for over 40 minutes get the sushi. I wouldn't recommend this place if you are really hungry or have somewhere you need to be. The Indah roll looked great when it finally came out, but usually rainbow rolls have salmon. I double checked the menu and it is supposed to have salmon. That was disappointing since I love salmon and don't really like ebi (shrimp). Too bad I double checked after leaving. I was curious about their take on the rainbow roll. I couldn't taste the sage or turmeric-ginger oil. The crab was good as most places serve it with imitation crab. The cream cheese was an interesting twist that wasn't to my taste. But I usually avoid rolls with cream cheese. The sashimi was great quality, but thinner than the places we usually go to back home. The miso soup was different than others I've tried before. There was no seaweed, lots of sesame seeds, and instead of silk tofu, there was a crumbly tofu that had a feta cheese like texture. It was quite nutty tasting with all the sesame seeds. It took over 30 minutes to get the sushi. When we asked the staff to check on our food, we were told it was getting rolled right now. It took another 9 minutes to get it on the table, and 5 minutes for us to eat it. The ambiance had a trendy vibe and a creative menu. Wish we had a better experience. A CULINARY EXPERIENCE! Whether you are indah sushi or a dabbler, the food here is exceptional. From the perspective of someone who loves surf and one that prefers turf, a truly incredible experience. We started out with a staple item - edamame (not pictured) and then had one of the most unique and flavorful seafood apps, the drunken sea scallops. Wow, just wow. Next, we had the coconut shrimp - seriously THE best coconut shrimp we've ever had and the rice is a great touch. I ordered the house Portuguese glass of white at $9 but the waiter came back to inform me they were out of it and brought me a taste of their Sauvignon blanc. I said yes to that which was at a higher price. They only charged me the $9 price of the one I ordered. I appreciate and respect that. My husband had the soft shell crab also in a bowl. It was outstanding. Soft shell blue crab is a delicate thing and not easy to come by out of season. Super good. Man this was a rough one. It may sound like an exaggeration, but everything was bad. Service didn't seem to care about what they were doing. Our own server got his hair braided by his co-worker in the middle of the restaurant. We ordered the "trust us" and we told them my wife does not like spice. The first two dishes they brought out were both spicey. They decided to challenge us right in front of us to test if the food is actually spicey. They then agreed again that it was in fact spicey. Nothing about the food was good at all. I would rather get sushi from Kroger. Not to mention the restaurant had the ambiance of a smokers basement lol. Went for a girls night out and loved the vibe from this place. Super cute, got seated quickly. Service was AMAZING, and sake was pretty good too. Waited a really long time for food, whatever it's summer, I get it. The sushi though. Omg it was horrible. We were literally so shocked when we tried it, it had zero taste and was so nasty. Came in and spoke to the hostess who told us that the wait would be 10 minutes. About 30 minutes later the hostess took us to a table outside with very uncomfortable chairs. We were told that the kitchen got backed up so they were waiting to seat ppl until the kitchen catches up. Edamame great, soup good, cucumber salad, fresh and crispy. Everything else was done sloppy and fell apart. Fish was good at best. Cut rolls looked like they were done by a novice sushi chef... all cut uneven. Also we tried making reservations the day before but were told over the phone that they only make reservations for party of six or more. So it ended up being that the parties of six or more had preferred treatment whereas everyone else who were "walk ins" had to wait for an indefinite amount of time. We also noticed that the owners were not present. Thus perhaps leading to the unorganized staff and quality of food to go down. Sad! read more

We read all the reviews and thought we'd have an amazing sushi experience. Well let me tell you. First we went around 2:30 in the afternoon before checking into the lodge in town. There was one other table occupied which wasn't surprising because of the time of day. So we had to order off the lunch menu. It is not as large as the dinner one, no sashimi just tempura type offerings and some rolls. My husband ordered the Narwal roll and I ordered the Bedazzled Topknot. We also had miso soup and a couple hot saki. The soup was hot delicious and had some black sesame seed and a few veggies in it. Our saki was hot and tasty, but the rolls were a big disappointment. My husbands roll had a lemon and goat cheese mixture in it that left a metallic taste in your mouth and the size of the rolls were a lot thinner than most places we've gone. Looked like the size of a fat cigar not a good sushi roll. My roll was a lot better than his, the love sauce was delicious. Unfortunately it wasn't worth an $80 lunch that's for sure. 2 soup, 2 rolls, 2 saki, sweet rice and tip. Update: Owner reached out to us which I thought was amazing and understood her position so I changed my rating taking her input into consideration.
