    Enlow Fishler Fiduciary

Top notch. Five stars. Somersaults. Seriously…read more After my parents passed away in 2016 and 2017, the handling of their trust assets was assigned to a fiduciary in Sonoma County, where they'd lived. After years of having limited dealings with the fiduciary and regular static on the occasions when I did need her assistance or required information, I was finally able to select a new fiduciary to take over the role. Several recommendations came my way and Enlow Fishler were included among those. My expectations were low, but when I spoke with Melissa initially and realized I was going to get to speak to a real person, right off the bat - no dodges or complications, that was a good start. I kept the other recommendations in mind, but moved forward and set a meeting with Enlow Fishler to see what they were about. The two women who met me at my local bakery were considerate, present and honest. At no point did they project anything that wasn't authentic and which they weren't prepared to back up with action. They didn't promise perfection, but they were ready to stand by their ethics, prioritization of the best interests of their clients and the joint power of their smarts and hearts. They've delivered - in spades. Within months, they not only had the tangle of the trust accounts straightened out and transferred over from the previous fiduciaries, but they'd discovered accounts the other fiduciary lost track of which more than covered all the legal fees for their services and the transfer of trustees. (I'm sure this cannot possibly be the case under ordinary circumstances, but it speaks to their thoroughness and value.) It isn't too much to say they've changed - not only my life, but the lives of my sons as well. After meeting with me, prior to taking us on as clients, they insisted on sitting down with my sons as well, as we're all beneficiaries of the trust. They've shown compassion and a deep interest in supporting each of us - as individuals, toward our various goals. They've routinely stated "it's not our money, it's yours." Since the trust stipulates that my sons won't receive their portions until they turn 35, I've known the relationship with our fiduciary(ies) would stretch into the future, making our trust in that entity all the more crucial. Knowing those now carrying that title and responsibility are women I trust implicitly lifts a weight that's been on my shoulders for years. I have never felt such a strong obligation and privilege to recommend a business before, but should you be looking for professional fiduciaries worth their weight in gold, look no further.

My mom has been at Aegis Corte Madera since 2009 (post-stroke). The residents are warm, there are just enough of them (over 100) to pick and choose friends that share common interests -- whether it be movies, religious services, walking club, bingo, poker, art classes, lectures, jewelry making, and the many cultural and off-site excursions (there's a bus) that take place on a weekly or twice weekly basis. The care has been superb, and there are longtime caregivers (Kevin and Sarbjit, and more recently, Ryan and Falle), who have made a significant difference in my mother's life. They're like family. Really, truly, the case. With both, there's continuity, caring, and concern. There's also an on site doctor, Rebecca Conant, who has made a significant difference for us, the adult children, and of course, for my mother. We know we can count on her, and she has the passion and compassion that makes her one of the finest medical professionals (were a family of doctors) in the county. We chose Aegis not only for the atmosphere and how it felt when we toured (food is good, too), but for the many activities and the liveliness / positive vibe of the place. How does it get its beat? It all comes down to a team of individuals, under the helm of Jordana Berliner, who tirelessly and creatively plan activities and events for the residents. We haven't, over the past 12 years, had any regrets. And when there are issues or things that need modification or attention, the general manager (Lee, and now Bill), listens with intention, taking needs seriously and to heart. I recommend touring the place and seeing if it feels right for you, and more importantly, for your loved one.

I was…read moremoving my parents to the Bay Area, and we needed assisted living for people with memory issues who do not meet the threshold for memory care. Also, both of my parents had been dramatically declining for a couple of months, so we needed to act fast to get them new doctors with weekly appointments and consistent caregiving. Aegis Corte Madera is the right place for them. An excellent UCSF doctor visits the community every Tuesday, and she has improved my parents' medical care. She works closely with the nurses onsite, so there is clear communication and implementation. Both parents made trips to Marin Health (hospital), so it was not an overnight success, but their health has stabilized. I have faith in their medical care, and they are in better shape than when they lived in their home. The management is exceptionally welcoming. They made my parents feel like they belonged right away. The GM buddied up to my dad to make him comfortable. The nurses and caregivers display a lot of care and even affection, which helped my mom adapt. The management staff is deeply invested in each individual and will do whatever it takes to settle people into the community. The cost is high, and the entrance/community fee is too high. However, I could not find another option offering medical support, very comfortable living spaces, a sunny apartment with views of the Marin ridgelines, and lively community activities. When I looked at my spreadsheet, the monthly costs for almost all the facilities were very close. I bit the bullet and paid the higher community fee, and we've had an excellent outcome. I recommend Aegis.

Alexis is on top of it to an extent I've never experienced before. She's extremely knowledgeable and what she doesn't know she will find out - in a heartbeat. She makes herself available to her patients and their families, giving them a comfort and security. She is collaborative in her approach which I find very important, since aging and decline brings constant change that needs to be managed. My mother and I are very appreciative for her capability, compassion and loving care over these years.

To say that she has been a godsend isn't an overstatement. She is the most competent, compassionate and thorough health-care professional I have ever had the pleasure to work with. She cared for my father as if he were family, and constantly kept my brother and me apprised of his changing health issues. When we had questions or concerns, she always responded promptly, even when she was out of the office or home with her baby. Her dedication to her patients is admirable indeed! I know my father, brother and I will miss her now that she is no longer with Hampton Health. And I have no doubt that future patients will be equally fortunate to have Alexis advocate and care for them.
