This is a quaint spot with health-conscious but delicious offerings (it's Halal so no pork). Had the French toast platter with turkey sausage and home fries. Also had an iced coffee. Everything was delicious. The portions were good. My one complaint is that the potatoes had an off putting color - almost as if they forgot to put them in cold water after peeling and turned brown from oxidation. Every time I visit Philly, I make sure to stop by iMunch Cafe, and it never disappoints. This is a great neighborhood spot or if you're just in the area. Ran across them when we visited the ALDIs across the street once. The inside is nice diner looking space but also paired with like a hole in the wall style. The staff was pretty nice when I went to pick up my order and made sure I had everything. I had the French toast, pancakes, grits, eggs, beef bacon, Turkey bacon, and a Caribbean dream smoothie. I did not have this all in one sitting haha. I don't have any complaints, the food is slightly above average but the price is pretty good for everything you can get. My bf and I were in the mood for a late lunch within walking distance of my apt when Google Maps reminded me of this spot that I pass regularly coming back from warmer weather workouts but had never been to before. It was so good! The guy at the register was very friendly, the menu had plenty of options, and we both liked the vibe inside (esp that partial wooden wall behind the spiral staircase!). We both ordered a chicken pesto panini, and also a cheesecake brownie to share after. We could not stop talking about how delicious the paninis were. I'd say the brownie could have used more cheesecake on top, but the brownie itself was melt-in-your-mouth good. Breakfast was delicious. This is a nice but small establishment with reasonably priced food items. They have a breakfast bar on the main level with 4 bar stools and additional table seating upstairs. This place is not wheelchair friendly. There are two steps to get to the entrance door and to access the upstair tables, there are spiral stairs. We placed our order and went upstairs. Our food was brought to us in containers which I like because in the event you have leftovers, you can just put the lid back in your food and take it with you. PERFECT! The food and my caramel latte were delicious. I ordered the French toast topped with sliced strawberries and Turkey bacon. I was surprised to get 4 slices of Turkey bacon. Typically when I order Turkey bacon, I only receive 3 pieces so that extra piece was a treat. Lol! My sister ordered the vegetable omelette with grits and Turkey bacon. I like that things were still decently priced in these times of inflation. $4 for a 16 oz smoothie is sort of unheard of. I know I've paid almost twice that other places, so I was pleasantly surprised. The chicken sandwich, which was oh so good, also came with a side salad. Just head up: Parking was free street parking, but sort of a challenge to find, but not Center City bad. Also, the spiral staircase leading upstairs is one to be careful on. We ordered and decided to sit upstairs. The girl at the counter assured us that they would bring up our food as soon as it was done. The upstairs seating was cute, small and intimate. For the first 20 minutes hubby and I were enjoying our time together.... Hanger hit as we started noticing people that came in after us were leaving with food. At the 45 minute mark we got up to leave and then our food walked up the stairs. It was not hot, small portions pretty underwhelming. Hubby ordered eggs over medium they were hard. My eggs were scrambled and although not hot they were good. Toast and grits were cold but had the grits been hot I would've loved them. Was not a fan of the take out containers the food was served in. I had a double shot in my latte and it was pretty weak. Then the fly. He was definitely in the way buzzing around our food but I was able to roll up a menu and swat him. First impressions are everything I had even mentioned it was our first time there.... I can only give them three stars at the moment based on their employee practices during a pandemic. I only saw one employee wearing a mask. This concerned me, especially with the individuals handling my food. Luckily I had paid online so I didn't have a money transaction. The sandwich was good, but the bacon was rubbery. It actually didn't taste like bacon, so maybe it was turkey bacon. But I prefer my bacon crispy. They are very busy, so I did have to wait, even though I ordered ahead. Went there to do some work and found the place to be a pleasant surprise. When you walk in there is seating along the window but that's about it. However they do have an upstairs seating area with plenty of room. They also have a meeting space which is a nice bonus. Now the food...I ordered the herby chicken salad sandwich on multigrain. It was very good. Huge and delicious. The best part was the sweet pepper relish. To drink I ordered a non dairy pomegranate/berry smoothie. It was tasty. Stumbled on this place via Yelp as we were leaving the zoo and needed a quick (and kid friendly) place to grab a bite to eat. Of note: the downstairs area is really small, with just a few window seats; most folks are just standing their waiting for their food for take out. But if you can get up the narrow winding staircase, there are several tables (and a giant 4-screen TV) upstairs. (And they will bring your food up to you, which I thought was a really nice touch). There is also a gender neutral/single stall bathroom upstairs. I found the food to be of the "underpromise, overdeliver" variety. I got a hummus plate, which could've been pretty unexciting, but had delicious grilled pita bread and fantastic pickled veggies. Solid place! Would stop by again if in the neighborhood. read more

I've been here two times now! A month ago today. If I could, I would come here more often for the food and customer service. Both times, I've gotten the French toast breakfast with scrambled eggs and turkey sausage. The french toast is so yummy even after the longish drive home. The scrambled eggs are seriously addicting. My picture doesn't do it justice! They're so fluffy and flavorful I could eat a whole bucket. I loveee eggs but never seem to be able to make delicious scrambled eggs. I ordered the blueberry pancakes by accident but no regrets there! They were generously packed with blueberries. I actually preferred the pancakes over the french toast, but that's just my preference. My bf got the roast beef panini and enjoyed it! Update** My new favorite: the tomatocado omelette with cheddar cheese!!! I went again today to try it and was not disappointed. I'm not usually a fan of avocado since it can be bland, but it went amazingly with the slightly acidic tomatoes (I watch too much Chopped). I also got the chocolate chip pancakes. Omg what a wonderful restaurant! The food is always good (I order at least once a week) and the few times I've spoken to the staff (I order on Uber eats) they were so kind and accommodating. And then to find out that it's Black owned??? I suspected they were when I saw green peppers in the salmon cakes (which are amazingly good) but then I was talking about their food and someone on my friends list who happens to be their relative confirmed it. I've passed this place a million times while walking my dog and finally decided to stop by for breakfast. I'm not feeling well and wanted a good hearty breakfast. I checked the menu online and didn't see grits on the but decided to go anyway. Low and behold iMunch has grits. I then found out that I could order Shrimp and Grits so I went for it! The portion size is great (as the order is considered a platter). The flavor is amazing! So many small businesses usually choose Old Bay to season seafood and it's so annoying and usually unoriginal. IMunch didn't. Their seasoning isn't too salty and has a hint of a kick in it. The balance of the onions, peppers, bacon and shrimp is perfect. My only issue is there was entirely too much butter. No seriously it seemed like there was a stick of butter and that was the only downside to the dish. Otherwise it was great. The staff was friendly. The restaurant has a extensive menu with great options like sparkling lavender lemonade. The place is clean and has a nice energy to it. Initially, I wasn't gonna leave a review, but I've changed my mind. I saw the cashier give herself a tip after someone used contactless payment. I alerted the guest that the cashier had given herself a tip. I also notified management. I wasn't going to leave the review because I felt like management was not responsible for the actions of the cashier, but the cashier literally cursed me out and gave me a middle finger all because I called her out for having stolen money that wasn't her. This is the weekend of the roots picnic. I ran into the young woman from the coffee shop at the festoval. She indicated that they had given her a free coffee to resolve the issue. She also noted that they stated that the system tends to add tips which leads me to believe that this waitress has been stealing all along. To the two men that own this restaurant, I'm sorry that I had to state the truth, but I don't think that her behavior is acceptable and I did not gather that appropriate actions would be taken. CUSTOMERS BEWARE!!! Make sure you finish out that transaction to either choose to add or not add a tip and don't leave it up to the thieving cashier. read more

I have been frequenting iMunch for 8+ years and I don't know why I haven't written a review before. The food is consistently good and, since that aren't too many lunch options near my office, they have been to go-to place for many people in my office over many years. They have the standard sandwiches (which are huge), like the BLT, turkey, chicken & tuna salad. They have some unusual items on the menu, like a vegetarian wrap with sweet potatoes, truffled mushrooms, and corn salsa. It is quite delicious and I've never had anything like it before. Other standout items are anything with the salmon patty, the omelets, and the herby chicken salad. I like to order many of the sandwiches on a spinach wrap. ***4.5 stars. I ordered here for lunch yesterday and got the roast beef panini with provolone cheese, peppers, red onions and an herb mayo. It was simply delicious. It is black owned and very reasonably priced. The roast beef was sliced thin but very good quality and they are everything but stingy with the portion size. Cibatta was soft but had a nice grill to it. Passion fruit lemonade OMG OMG sweet and refreshing. I will definitely be ordering soon. Only reason I am shy of 5 stars is I thought it was a bit heavy on the provolone cheese, but it did not take away much from the sandwich. I enjoyed every bite.
