I am writing this review to make sure parents are informed about how Improved Dynamics informs and onboards its clients. On or about October 23rd 2023, my wife sought ABA services for our 8-year-old son. We received onboarding information by email which explained the initial assessment of $128.00 plus the creation of an ABA treatment plan would be "billed to our insurance." However, what you're not told is that your insurance company treats ABA therapy sessions much differently than standard medical insurance in which you would have a standard $25 or $35 copay.
In our case, since we have never used ABA therapy services, we had to first meet our $20,000 deductible before any claims were "paid" which means, the ABA services you receive from Improved Dynamics is likely to be paid completely out of pocket by you. In other words, when Improved Dynamics says they are going to "bill your insurance company" for the initial assessment and the creation of a therapy plan by a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) (which is Mary's daughter by the way), they should say, we will submit a claim to your insurance company for services that will be credited towards your insurance deductible. When I explained my misunderstanding to Mary, she chuckled as I pointed out to her that her wording in the email is somewhat misleading. She then told me she had to pay their BCBA specialist who is her daughter which is why she had to bill us.
Additionally, they do not disclose the waiting period can be due to them not having a therapist provider for your area. Instead, they tell you the waiting period is for them to get everything approved with your insurance when in reality it's because they do not have an available therapist. Therefore, you will sit on a waiting list indefinitely while they take your money for the initial assessment and treatment plan which in our case came to $672.00. Furthermore, the initial assessment was completely online with some very basic questions about our son and maybe 60 seconds of interaction with him. Hardly worth the money.
Again, this is a warning to all parents seeking services for their children to be wary of dealing with Improved Dynamics as I have heard of many similar complaints about them from people "in the know." Parents, please do not allow this to happen to you.
