Tim was very helpful and fast! They changed all my fluids Ina timely manner and were very respectful!

I had my "check engine" light in my Hyundai - Accent diagnosed and was told it was the catalytic converter. No charge from Import Auto for the diagnosis. I was advised to go to the dealer to have fixed. I did and since it was under warranty, I paid nothing. read more

Go here! I'm not joking. I needed a part installed to fix a potentially car ruining issue that I couldn't fix myself. They got me scheduled immediately. They fixed my issue with no problem. Quickly, efficiently, and at a reasonable cost. Do not schedule an appointment with anyone else before you get a quote from them! Amazing! read more

I brought my o 2009 Range Rover in here for some suspension repairs and ac service. The fellas at Import were very welcoming and assured me they could solve the problems. My check engine light, suspension failure, light, were on and the ac wouldn't blow. It took them a few days, but the problems were all solved. read more

Took my Audi in last week to diagnose a rattle. The guys lifted my car and poked around until they figured out it was the brake pads that were either the wrong size or ? We ordered new brake pads and was scheduled to replace the next day. Low and behold when I left that day, whatever they did stopped the rattle. I told the owner and he said "then go then! Why do we need to change the brakes if there is no rattle?" I asked what they did yesterday? He said his guy tightened the brake springs. I said I took my car back to Wolfe last year at least three times after talking video of the rattle. They either didn't look for it or did but couldn't find it. This company found it in less than and hour and didn't charge me for it and were honest enough to not make me change the brakes when they didn't need it. Honest, integrity, effort. That is this company and I will definitely be back! read more

I'd write a novel on this one if I had the time! This is by far the best and most honest auto repair shop I've ever step foot into! I told the gentleman over the phone what I needed done and asked for a price quote. Right off the bat he gave me a quote on the service which was 40% less than anywhere else I had called, but then he did something above and beyond what I could have hoped for... I had mentioned that I needed my turn signals replaced, which one of the chain shops just down the road had told me would cost $45... Which was $45 I was willing to pay in order to avoid the obvious dangers and hassle from not having working turn signals causes... He immediately told me "I'm not going to charge you to replace the bulbs as they only cost a couple of dollars, and on top of that I wouldn't charge you for something that could be a possible hazard due to not having while driving" Honestly I was floored and in a million years would never have expected as a response!!! Honesty, integrity and super fast service is something I'd be more than happy to pay EXTRA for, and instead I received all of this while paying less!!! It's hard to believe, but it actually happened! Again, I could go on and on about this positive experience but I'll end it on this note... If you ever need service done on your vehicle and you are anywhere near the greater San Diego area, bring your car here! You will definitely NOT regret it! THANKS AGAIN IMPORT AUTO SERVICE, I look forward to doing business again in the near future!!! read more

In 2017, after a questionable diagnosis and a high estimate to fix my 1998 Izusu SUV I started looking for a new mechanic. I happened on Import Auto just over a mile from my house. Tim fixed the problem, was totally reasonable on the charges and I have used him ever since for my two Prius's. Great work, great prices, treats you like an equal when discussing problems and solutions. As an older woman, this is meaningful. read more

BEST / LOWEST Cost Repair Shop for BMWs!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Got 10+ quotes to replace a battery & Import Auto Service's price was 1/3 the price of the next lowest quote I received. They were really helpful explaining a few other things with my car, so I know what to keep an eye on. All the work was done quickly & properly. The waiting room is nice & clean (not that I care, but it was) & it's Air Conditioned, so be a comfortable place to wait around while you get your car worked on. read more

I'll update this at the end of the work also. Tim and Scott at Import Auto has been very helpful through a situation where I had a mechanical problem while I was away from home. Tim has come through for me with my Toyota Prius on a few occasions. He knows his stuff and is honest and I drive almost 20 miles just so I can take my car to him. He's a true gem! The check engine light of my 2013 Audi A6 had come on and when I called, Scott told me to come down and they'd check it out for free. I was immediately greeted and taken care of right away. My car was misfiring a bunch of codes and instead of trying to repair them all at once, Tim took care of one smaller problem which fixed the whole thing! I felt really cared for as a customer and not just them trying to make a quick buck. These guys will definitely be my go to mechanics from now on! read more

Had my transmission fluid changed for a price cheaper than quoted and was completed very quickly. Will be coming back for other services!

Went in today to get some advice regarding my CCB on my BMW M5. Staff was very responsive and gave valuable information on how to ensure my high performance brakes functioned properly. Highly recommended! read more

Hello everyone! I needed to change the oil on my car early in the morning. The day before I called the guys and informed them about it. Next morning everything was perfect, they took my car in first minute after opening. During changing process we had good conversations with gorgeous staff. I highly recommend Import Auto. 1) First and foremost they are honest, They tell you exactly what's wrong, they don't try to upsell. They don't say things are wrong when they are not. You can trust what they say. 2) They do stellar work, I brought my car in, it was shaking going down hills, turns out it was my brakes my car drives so smoothly now. They check out the car in its entirety, changed the oil, filled all the fluid levels and brought my car back to factory specs. They even adjusted my backup camera. 3) They do quality work without the dealership price. They are all professional, kind, and care about their customers satisfaction, and the little dog is the cutest, ever! I a medical provider. I am expected to diagnose accurately and give ultimate care. It's really nice to get the same quality of service in return especially in the automotive industry, as it is about safety. I have found my new automotive repair shop. I highly recommend them. read more

It's about time I write a review for this shop. They are amazing. It helps that they're so close to my house, but even if they weren't I wouldn't go anywhere else to service my M series BMW. They have been extremely helpful, informative, and reliable and professional since the first time I came in a year ago. So, my car started leaking coolant on my way to work one day and my engine overheated. I was on the freeway and terrified....long story short I unfortunately took it to another place in El Cajon first that charged me $800 to do NOTHING but read the codes and tell me it was good to go. Next morning I'm on the freeway on my way to work and the coolant just flows out of the engine again!!! I was pretty upset. Got it towed home, had my husband replace the water pump assembly and thermostat, and that wasn't the problem either. So, I find this shop, Scott the service manager was so polite and gracious with me he could tell how upset I was and assured me everything would be fine. Sure enough it was, in a few hours I had my car back and it was a radiator hose that needed to be replaced! That was all! They also refilled the coolant for me and pressure tested it to make sure I'd be safe. I went back today to get a code for the chassis checked thinking "crap I probably have to replace struts, this is going to hurt," because the "shop" in El Cajon had told me I needed to replace them due to one of the struts having a hole in it.....right....Anyway it was just a sensor that had come unplugged so thank God honest people like these guys still exist! They plugged it back in, and while I was there brought my attention to the inside of my rear tires which I never would have seen if they hadn't shown me, one of my run flats had metal wires showing through! So getting that addressed tomorrow as well. The moral of this is don't look anywhere else if you can't afford to go to your dealership for service on your vehicle, these guys have always been extra kind to me, even offered to give me a ride home so I wouldn't have to wait in the shop. I have anxiety so I chose to stay all day, but you don't have to. Thanks again you guys! read more

Looked these guys up on Yelp and saw all the great reviews. Had an issue with my car and took it to them. From the start I felt comfortable with everyone there. They fixed my car and even fixed some minor things. Was a great experience and even gave me the idea part back. It's hard to find a car mechanic who truley cares. This is an AwsoMe company and appreciate there honesty. read more

I cannot recommend Tim and his crew enough to everyone I know. My car's check engine light was on and after being given a farce of what "needed" to be fixed, I went here and Tim was honest about what he'd do and the estimate necessary for potential repairs. I was treated like a person here and can say if you want someone trustworthy to work on your vehicle, stop here first! read more

Well I took my truck into these guys to have the motor replaced with a JDM motor it took them 7 months to give me my truck back after they gave it back to me I had to have it towed back four times they rented me a rental car for one week of this 7 month time finally 4 weeks later they call me and say we've finally fixed your vehicle I go and get the vehicle it's running good I get it home check engine light comes on I can't smog it I lifted the hood open just now as a matter of fact that's my fault I should have checked it the day I got it back they cut the lines going to my heater core and attach them together there were things disconnected under there I had had a brand new battery when I took it to them and just noticed that they stole my battery and put a used one in now my vehicle will not start I would not recommend these guys to anybody they are thieves and I will report them to the better Business bureau as well I just can't believe this I spent over $6,000 with these guys and they completely robbed me blind 7 months later I have a truck I can't use and parts were stolen off of it do not trust these guys no matter how nice they seem it's your money it's your vehicle have a good day read more

Brought my car in to get the brakes fixed which was a good thing I did because they found a bolt missing that was supposed to be holding together my strut. I came in to have them evaluate my brakes. I was having some minor squeaking. They did an inspection and told me how much life was left in my brakes. This is my "GO TOO" place for my car repairs. These guys are super honest and never over charge for any repairs. Before you go anywhere else, give them a call or stop by for a quote. They only have 2 but it helps when you're in pinch for a ride back and for from work. Check them out!! read more

Thank You, Lord, Thank You. Let's start there. If you drive a Prius and have had the ABS unit go out, you know how embarrassingly annoying it is. Every time you brake, it sounds like 2 chimpanzees mating with each other under your hood. I've been putting up with this shame for nearly a year and Import Auto Service saved me like a lost puppy taken in on a cold winter night. When I get work like this done, I normally spend the day on brain-boil adrenalin-worry-mode ready bracing myself for the 'we also found this problem and it's going to cost you your retirement' call. Not here. I got a great price for the fix and no fuss. Priced as quoted. Dropped it off at opening and picked her up at close today. Maybe one day I will get that call from a mechanic, but I don't think it will be from here. And quite frankly, today I feel lucky. Thank you! read more

5 Stars for great service, incomparable prices, and clean environment. I will never go back to the dealership again!

These guys are absolutely top notch and highly recommend them! I have a Honda Accord and recently the check engine light came on, so I needed to take it in and get it taken care of. I called in the morning and came in a couple hours later. They called me and let me know the issue and the cost and gave them the green light to get it fixed. I dealt with Tim and Chris and really appreciated their upfront and honest way of doing business. As a business owner that takes pride in my customer service, I was extremely happy with these guys and the shop's work. If I ever need anything done at all, coming here, hands down, no questions asked. Thanks guys! 10 stars!!! read more

As I was driving to work one morning, my vehicle began stuttering and the service engine soon light began flashing intermittently. Not a good way to start the day. After I arrived at work, I opened my trusty Yelp app and searched for auto repair places nearby. I found Import Auto Service nearby with glowing reviews so I called them up. They understood I needed to work and really came through to ensure I had transportation back to the office after I dropped my vehicle off with them. They quickly diagnosed my issue (I had 2 of 4 cylinders non-functional) and rapidly fixed my vehicle, ensuring I had my vehicle back by 5:00 pm the same day. They were even willing to stay late had I not been able to pick it up on time. I was given an detailed and accurate quote and upon performing the work, when they found a part which didn't need to be replaced they skipped it, making the final total come in much less than the original quote. I will go out of my way to visit this local repair shop should the need arise in the future. Great people, great service and just all around a great experience. (Who can normally say that about expensive car repairs?) read more

Guess i can't change my original review but if i could i would bring it down to 2 stars. Had a part "replaced" and it failed 6 months later.I Sold the car and the new owner told me it had the same problem that i had replaced. Went in to ask the guys at Import auto what could have happened to make this part fail again and find out if the new owner could do anything to fix the problem himself. Not only did i not get any help, they couldn't even find the part number of the part they replaced. Said they would call me the next day for warranty info or anything that would help the current vehicle owner with the issue. Never heard back from them. I have a feeling they didn't even replace the original part and just did a quick fix to get it back on the road since the new owner did exactly that after watching you tube videos. Anyway, thanks for nothing guys, 600 bucks down the drain. *make sure you always ask for your original parts back* Didn't get mine back come to think if it. Interesting. read more

I went to get my vw tiguan looked at...Had misfires for years and on diagnosis but the dealer and whoever fixed it before didnt do the last coil. So check engine light been on years cause of it, so they changed that to 1 coil they already had FREE AND diagnosed it no charge, as well, it was supposed to be 50, which everywhere I checked wanted $120-150 just to diagnose. Found them on yelp. VWs are such hard cars to fix BUT THEY KNOW what they're doing and they're honest. I still had steering rack and pinion plus alignment done...I got oil and gave it to them, they did that as well. And radiator had a leak. Replaced it, He did everything needed, and took like 2 days, feels brand NEW! I will go to them for future car services, when necessary. read more
