I get home and unpack the iMac and turn it on and my keyboard cannot recognize my computer! I call him and tell him my situation, and he responds with I am gonna have to get an adapter of some sort... I was aghast!!! You did this and apparently knew that it was not going to be a "fix" without said adapter and you charged me...?!!!! So I mull it over a wee bit and call them back and get another staff member. I ask if I could use the $26 as a credit to a key board that they had for sale for $89? She responds that her manager is out for the day, "off the clock", and she cannot get this question satisfied until "tomorrow". Fortunately, I decided to venture down a search into the more local small businesses and came upon this cool old school & quirky shop. I think the gentleman's name was Jim. Older dude that could pass as your nerdy techy friend who's probably collected every tech gadget since the original Tron came out. Told him what I was looking for but I gradually got discouraged as all he was showing me were the bigger style bigger sound units that are common for home systems. But, alas! With a little patience we revealed a new treasure: smaller desk top speakers! Minor speaker mesh stains on the front but super decent with a little TLC. He was super friendly and chill, even making an effort to find parts that could potentially be missing from this set (like compatible power cord). It also came with an amp box that I've got sitting below my desk table, which was a nice surprise (I keep it plugged in for the deeper sounds or just unplugged for more "regular(?)" crispy audio). All that for a really awesome deal; I think it was something like $15-30 or something crazy like that. Good shit, dude! Thank you. If you're looking for small speakers, I probably snagged the last set but I definitely recommend this place for any help with acheiving 2 things at once: reusing/upcycling any sort of old working electronics and supporting a damn good local friendly small business.

Not only were they rude, arrogant and telling untruths from the get go, they seemed to just grab a price out of thin air and quotes me that number. I walked over to Ifix never having been here before, and found the employees to be professional honest and easy to work with. The glass was ordered and although it took a bit longer to arrive, the work was done correctly. Unfortunately, the mouse USB was left at iFix and realized it hours later. When I called it was confirmed the USB was there and Lucas dropped it off at my home. What awesome customer service. For future needs I will be going directly back to iFix and would recommend you go there as well for your phone, tablet and computer needs.

Had my Pioneer SA-8500 II refurbished with Carver Audio's "Chassis Refresh" service in February…read more2025. Besides a thorough cleaning inside and out, all capacitors are replaced. (Go to Carver Audio Repair's website for a better description of all that is included with this service.) Only a few rare days do I not listen to the Pioneer, which performs better than it ever has. It also looks as good as possible for a 50-year-old component. The same condition exists under the hood... it is absolutely beautiful. If an audio component is worth investing in, this service will restore or upgrade to as close to new as is reasonably possible . Rolland (owner) will do custom modifications upon request (for an additional cost). (I requested the Pioneer have an IEC power connection installed.) Carver Audio will also do repairs only. (A Kenwood KA-9100 will be receiving the "Chassis Refresh" within the next few months.) My experience has been that Carver Audio's the level of technical service, pride in their work and overall professionalism is hard to find in servicing home electronics. The reviews tell the story.

I have a few audio units from decades ago in decent enough shape to have completely brought back to like-new condition. This service does not address external cosmetics, but the owner (Rolland) will make sure the unit receives a deep cleaning inside and out is remarkable. All capacitors are replaced with modern (better than when new) electrolytic capacitors . (See website for description of "Chassis Refresh" service.) The Pioneer SA-8500 II and Kenwood KA-9100 sound better than I ever remember. If you have cherished older stereo power equipment that you love to use (touch, look at, and listen to) it will be very satisfying to receive back the amp you have sent to Hi-Tech/Carver Audio.
