I ordered Imperia Caviar through DoorDash last weekend. It was so delicious and very fresh. I couldn't decide between the Royal Ossetra Caviar or the Kaluga Hybrid Reserve Caviar so I got a small tin of each. Both were amazing! I enjoyed the caviar on Organic Humble Original Potato Chips with Vermont Creamery Crème fraîche and of course drank a little Champagne. The only suggestion that I would make to Imperia Caviar is that they should include a caviar tin opener with the Doordash order or at least make them available for purchase along with caviar spoons. We just had caviar from Imperia for the first time after over 20 years of getting it from Bel Air Caviar for NYE and other caviar all over the U.S. and countries all over the world. We had the Royal Ossetra and I have to say it was absolutely, hands down, the worst caviar I have ever had!!! The texture was mush...like mushy peas and bland tasting. I found it barely edible! Again, I have had a lot of caviar in my life and I have a lot of experience with it. I am truly disappointed and even more so...surprised! I'd love to know if anyone experienced this with their order? I have about 4 oz left and it is a waste. One of our favorite ways to enjoy at home is to finely chop some chives, shallot, and egg to serve. Incredible caviar and even more incredible customer service. I purchased the Kaluga Hybrid Reserve and it is delicious. I've tried it on its own and with creme fraiche and a potato chip. It really shines on its own! The color is a beautiful green. Very creamy, little briny and a great ocean finish. I would recommend this caviar to anyone who loves good caviar. They answered all of my questions in an expeditious manner. Very transparent as to where they source their product. Great customer service my a great product even better. Shipping was a breeze. The caviar was quite good for the price and the shipping was five star, otherwise a three star review. Phone communication was nonexistent. Email explanation as to which to choose was useless. Now the caviar. The kaluga was quite mild And had a clean taste. I ate it on lightly buttered brioche with a squeeze of lemon. The eggs didn't "pop". What was disconcerting was that they clumped together and left a yellow residue on the plate. The Ossetra, had more of a beluga taste. They were a bit saltier, with what I call a "grey" undertone. The eggs slid past each other nicely, but still did not have that pop. Still very good when not eaten right out of the fridge. What really bothered me, was the 20% additional "special". The three small, extra tins were labeled ossetra when clearly they were Kaluga, nor was the amount 20%. Carelessness on the part of the seller. i would buy the Ossetra again if they sold it in larger amounts. read more
