Having IDS rebuild my house after a fire was easily one of the worst decisions I've made. The "contractors" lacked basic skills. Over the months that it took to rebuild my house, I had several different project managers, and countless workers as they could not seem to keep staff. The workmanship was atrocious and the staff from the owner down to the workers were unprofessional. After a few years of going back and forth with the owner about items that need fixed, I am still stuck with floors that look like they were done by a child. They did come back to stretch the carpet which made them look slightly better for about two weeks. But clearly they were not "fixed" properly as you can see. The last correspondence I had was with the owner on 1/14/21 in which he said "as soon as we can get you scheduled we will." To which I replied "I look forward to hearing from you". I never heard from them again!! Attached you can see pictures of the carpets that look like they were thrown down and the laminate that has huge gaps. We had a roof leak during a recent rain storm. IDS was a phone call away and had prompt response on a Sunday!! They assisted with drying and cleanup and then went to work to assess the problem. The thorough and knowledgeable staff members that took care of us were top notch. Management kept in contact as well to provide updates, a timeline that they stuck to, and after service followups as well to make sure our problem was fixed and we were satisfied. Don't ever expect these people to get the job done. We had a big job to be done. Andrew Deffendall, project manager, submitted an estimate to our insurance and his estimate was accepted. In short, Mr. Deffendall kept putting us off, and in the end said he really didn't want to do the job. We got another contractor, who is charging less, and doing the same job. Impact Disaster Services was recommended by my insurance company after we incurred some major water damage. Dave was sent out and was very knowledgeable about the actual work needed as well as the process with the insurance company. Based on our positive interaction with Dave, we chose to go with them. Unfortunately, the problems started very soon after. As the start date that was on the estimate approached, no one called me to set up arrival time or confirm any details. I called them to find out that Wayne, who was to be the construction manager, failed to put us on the schedule. Number 1 problem! They started demolition 4 days behind schedule. During demolition, they discovered a lot of additional damages that now had to be approved by insurance. We were warned, by Dave, that this would happen. Insurance red tape held the job up another 2.5 weeks, no fault of IDS, and Dave worked to get it approved as fast as he could. Then, I expected work to begin as soon as the approval came through, especially since they knew when it was coming. NOOOOO....we were put off for almost another week because "we have a million other jobs to do", "your job is pretty small in the grand scheme of things", "we had an injury and now we are a man down", "the roofing sub-contractor is not available", "our foreman had a death in the family"...needless to say, Wayne was a very poor communicator and failed to call to update us about anything. I had to request that he not be the construction manager on my job anymore. We had to call and call and email and email to get any answers as to what was happening with this demolished room that has been boarded up for the better part of a month now. Mike, the owner, got involved and personally called us to apologize and offered a small compensation for our troubles. I felt a little better at this point, nut this changed quickly. They sent out one man to get the job started. He was a hard worker, but there is only so much one person can do. He told me that he was sent to "appease me" and show that they are trying to staff my job and "save face" (these were his words). So, for about a week, we had only one person on the job, then they eventually sent two, but then it was only two on some days, one on others. Toward the end of the projected date, they had to add another week to the job and even then, they went over that by an additional 2 days...most of this extension was due to the fact that they shorted me with staff. If two guys would have been on the job every day, they would have gotten done on time. Who sends one man to install drywall ceiling??...it took him forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mike, who is the owner, was very resonsive at first, then he turned into a very disgruntled man. Due to the fact that I am farily savvy at this kind of thing and extremely stubborn when it comes to getting what is owed to us, his tune turned and he was unwilling to work with us to fix their mistakes and poor planning. When the job was complete and I did my inspection, there were several things that required them to return and repair before I was willing to sign off on the job. There was a hole in the celing at the base of my ceiling fan because they cut the ceiling hole too big and the base of the fan did not cover it. There was drywall dust ALL over the floor, the windows and the walls which they did not clean up before they left. The caulking job they did along the outside was ridiculous and my toddler could have done better and there was a strip above the air conditioner that clearly did not receive a second coat of paint. After they fixed everything, I was happy and the overall quality of the work was good. The one young man, who has since left the company, was very detail oriented and very good at making sure that things were done to the best of his ability as if it were his home. However, he no longer works for the company. The last straw was the payment process. My insurance company sent them a large check that had to have their endorsement, my endorsement and my mortgage company's endorsement. It was to pay them for their work...yet they would not share in the expense to safely send such a large check via fed ex instead of regular mail. It cost me $54 to send it and I asked Mike, the owner, to split that cost with me, his answer was "I will not pay more money, just to get paid" Nice, right??? It was their money, yet, I was paying to make sure it was safely delivered since it was so large and had been endorsed by two of the three parties. Hmmmmm...????? I will not use this company again, nor do I recommend that you do!!! read more

The end of January 2018 we had a minor fire in our master bedroom with major soot damage. IDS sales person arrived at our door that very evening. He seemed to be knowledgeable to restorations. Fortunately this was our first time for a disaster. We decided to go with IDS as the restorer. Aaron Collins was the project manager and Wayne Zimmerman was the construction manager. Most of our dealings were with Wayne. What an asset to your company. He was very thorough when coming to restore our home. The person doing the work, Brady, was a worker. Always here when scheduled and always working constantly when on site. The subcontractors that Wayne used were all top of the line. Even thought we had a devastating condition, the crew made it tolerable. Our thank you and continuous success to IDS. the crew is very inconsiderate to everyone else involved, i don't their service with their client, but if you aren't their client, they treat your stuff like garbage, their guys throw their trash in "your" dumpster, even found a bag of feces in the dumpster, had their dumpster people back theirs so close that cannot even open the other one, found trash in the other house from them doing roofing, even when closing up they were hired and didnt close the house entirely , as in closing a few holes in the roof above the attic, and stuff that wasnt ruined from the fire, now is! and they company won't own up to any of their issues either, said that the boss said they werent aloud to close up the roof, but yet the rest of the roofs were closed up on the neighbors read more
