RUN! If your insurance company is partnered with them RUN! They are horrible and caused more issues then the actual claim issue. This is going to be a long review. Allstate insurance has partnered with this unprofessional and inexperienced company. A tree fell on my house during a huge rain/wind storm. My agent told me they are partnered with them. So I called them. We had nothing on our backs but our clothes. I called and they were on the scene. They failed to pack out our house correctly. They shoved all our contents from the basement in my storage room, They had a pod delivered for other items upstairs. They packed the pod with all our clothes in the back and furniture in front making it impossible to get to even our underwear. BIGGEST problem was since they failed to pack out our house correctly and have the knowledge of letting the customer know the timetable of repairs, we got mold that covered all of our stuff in the basement as it was all a total loss. I am talking our 5k couch, old yearbooks, clothes, childhood memories, things you cannot replace. Insurance did not replace anything because of Paul Davis. If a company does this all the time shouldn't they know what the right steps and practice should be? Not Paul Davis. I was there the day they winterized our house. Toilets could not be flushed. Low and behold a couple days later I come to the house only to find one of their workers went to the bathroom in the toilet that doesn't flush. Disgusting. The smell was horrific. They did a horrible job demoing the house and other workers had to go over what they did. They subcontracted a floor company to remove the bad hardwood floors and they ended up taking out way too much flooring. This caused me to fight with insurance and even send a old piece of hardwood floor to a lab to have tested to get more money. What idiots. All because they failed to do their remediation properly. They ONLY WANT TO TERRIBLY REMIDATE YOUR HOUSE TO GET THE BUILDING CONTRACT. PERIOD! RUN! Joke of a company and cannot believe Allstate would have their name attached to such a horrible "restoration service" Communication was horrible. If I could give zero stars I would. We had used paul davis Lancaster in the past and they were efficient and phenomenal so when we had a water leak didn't hesitate to call them. Mitigation went perfectly smooth. The restoration was an absolute nightmare. We started the claim August 26 and they took 9mos to complete the job. It is half ass and not up to the standard we had. We got so sick of calling them back for poor work that we just signed off. If Jay is assigned as your project manager I urge you to request a new one. He didn't communicate, never was on site, had no clue what needed done, had zero attention to detail. It was as if we were a bother to him. The subcontractors he used often did sloppy jobs and here we are 9 mos later with a freezer that no longer works and dishwasher that was never reconnected. The employees were always kind but Jay was absent and did not have any attention to detail.this is not what we expected from them and would never recommend them again unfortunately. They never returned to clean our home after 9 mos of work. Vents weren't covered as they sawed inside our home. They quoted us square footage for paint jobs and only half was done. Where do I start!! We had a flood in our home. Paul Davis came out to start the tear out. They were great! So we decided to go with them for the rebuild. That's where it all went south. We went through 2 contractors that neither one spent anytime really trying to help rebuild our home. They would just send 3 party companies who didn't know what they were doing either. No one communicates with each other at this company. We wanted to order flooring and our kitchen on our own and they proceeded to tell us they wanted to take care of it. It took 9 months for a kitchen to get installed. They sent someone out to install it who never installed a kitchen before. My husband had to spend hours helping the man who they sent by himself! We ended up having to fire them and hire another contractor to come fix everything. They installed the cabinets un level that the new contractor had to come out and take the cabinets down and reset them so we could get countertops. They used the cheapest material they could. They had to have 2 electricians come out because they drywalled over the first set of wires and couldn't find them so then they had to run a whole new set. They drywalled over a fire extinguisher. The list could go on and on. We were very patient, but they never took ownership of any of their mistakes. It was honestly the worst experience we have gone through. Oh and now since we had to go with another contractor to get things finished Paul Davis put a lean on our house. Honesty integrity is not this company. read more

We had a great experience after a major leak and extensive damage to multiple rooms and floors within our home. They came in the middle of the night, worked closely with our insurance and were incredibly compassionate during the entire experience. They removed drywall, our kitchen cabinets, ceilings, duct work and builtins. They packed and stored our belongings and were very responsive to our phone calls. This company does not communicate AT ALL.. they just make the sale and then send in the rudest team to work on your home. They left flooring sticky that they weren't even working on, just where they walked through stuff and messed up other floors. Never contacted me when they said they would... I would give -1,000,000 stars if I could. I wish this was an exaggeration. If you are consideration Paul Davis for home restoration, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. -They let our home sit with NOTHING BEING WORKED ON for FOUR MONTHS. -Insurance no longer wanted to fund our temporary housing situation because Paul Davis took so long to get started on our property so we were forced to move home before the kitchen was finished. -When we finally got our kitchen appliances it took them over a week to come to hook the appliances up. Their employees had the nerve to ask us why we didn't hook it up ourselves. As if we know how the heck we even could?! -They were aware of the fact that we were new parents with a two-week-old baby and did NOT make us a priority in fixing what SHOULD HAVE ALREADY BEEN DONE. -The job should've taken 3 months total and was dragged out to 6.5 months. -We lived without running water for 2 days with a newborn. -We lived without appliances and countertops in the kitchen for 3 weeks. -It would take several tries to get them to respond to emails. (MOST of the time they didn't respond at all) -Many phone calls were never returned. -Many appointments were made where someone was supposed to come to meet us at our property (that we couldn't live in yet due to it still not being ready) and the person meeting us didn't show up or even call to say that they couldn't come. -They lost a few of our items in storage. -We're young, kind, very relaxed, and not easily angered. At first, we took this poor treatment with a grain of salt. We felt bad for their overworked and visibly flustered employees, and we had no desire to be a pain to anyone, but when we did finally start to speak up about how neglectful the company had been with us, we realized just how much they didn't care. Even our VALID ISSUES AND COMPLAINTS to management went unanswered and unacknowledged. -After how they treated us, they've magically (without rhyme, reason, nor an explanation) have come up with about 25k in extra expenses that they're expecting us to pay. -Our insurance company even hated them because of how much they ignored phone calls and emails. -It took them MONTHS to complete and send in SIMPLE paperwork pertinent to operations. -The work they did was NOT top quality. That's being kind. They used the cheapest drywall I've ever seen in my life. If I touch the wall with even a slight amount of pressure there is already a scuff mark. -G.R. Mitchell sent Paul Davis the wrong interior doors for our house. When we pointed this out the Paul Davis employee just shrugged and said there wasn't much that could be done now. We were so emotionally drained and there wasn't enough time left before our move-in date so we let it go. -The outlet holes were cute much larger than the outlet covers can cover so you can see into the walls in some parts of our house. It's very minor, but honestly, I hate this company so much that these minor imperfections pain me to look at every day. -They didn't install our tub correctly and now we have water damaged and MOLD. (Ironic that a mold company would even allow this to happen to us) -We asked them to put waterproof trim in the bathroom window because of its INSIDE of the shower. They put regular wood. A COMPANY. THAT SPECIALIZES IN MOLD REMEDIATION. PUT WOOD. IN OUR WET SHOWER. WHERE WATER GOES. -They left paint splatters all over many of our windows that we had to clean off. Some of it still won't come off. -They left an ample amount of construction trash in our basement and under our carport that we paid out of pocket to remove because no one came back to take care of it when we asked them to take care of their mess. -The left ruts in our yard from their machinery driving in our grass. They said they would fix it, but can you take a lucky guess as to what still hasn't happened? I curse Paul Davis's name every time I try to mow over the bumps in lawn. -Whoever installed our stove ripped the floor beneath it and that was never fixed. -Because our home was unattended for months, thieves (possibly even the workers, honestly) stole our lawnmower and grill from our yard. -The front door hit the door frame every time we closed it. We fixed that ourselves because we would've waited for weeks or even months if we asked them to take care of it. -When my items were being taken into storage, I was told any time I needed an item from storage to call ahead and I'll be able to come to pick it up. One time I called ahead to pick up my high school diploma and was, and I use this word intentionally, scorned for it. The person I was scorned by said I could only receive MY items from storage two times because of it being a long process for them to find items in storage. That was only my 2nd time calling in 6.5 months to retrieve a personal item. I'm writing this review an entire year later because I decided if I could spare someone else the pain, I should. I wish I could give 0 out of 5. I had a pipe burst in January of 2018 in my upstairs bathroom that damaged the entire wood floors on the lower level. Project managers Bill and Wallace made what looked like a well planned estimate and order of work. But, when it actually came down to the work part they hired sub contractors who didn't show, or did sub par work. A zero star review is more appropriate for this company. Our home owners insurance set us up with this company. We experienced water damage on the first floor of our house due to a slow leak. Every room except the living room needed repair. Our home project was rescheduled which we realize could happen. But, four times? In between the rescheduling and actual start date of demolition, we removed everything from our downstairs except the flooring in dining room, laundry room, bathroom, foyer, closets, and hallway; the toilet; dishwasher; sink; and garbage disposal. We removed all of the tile and hardy backer from the kitchen except directly under the fridge and oven. On the start day, they sent the flooring guy and his helper to do the demo. The project manager, Brad Kotzmoyer, told us that he was going to be there on the start day. He never showed. When we asked the flooring guy if he knew when Brad was coming, he told us that we shouldn't trust him because he tells people he's going to be there and he never shows up. The flooring guy and his helper did two days of demo then were moved to a different project because mold was found in our home on day two. We had the mold remedied. We also had no downstairs other than the living room in working condition. Once the mold was cleaned, Brad told us that they would not be coming back for five weeks to continue the work. Due to needing our downstairs to make it livable, we fired Paul Davis and completed the project without them. After firing Paul Davis, they sent us an estimated credit. Not an itemized bill so we could see what they were charging us for. We asked them for an itemized, estimated bill. They waited three months before sending us yet another credit estimate. We asked again for an itemized, estimated bill. And, yet again, we received an estimated credit. This occurred for a total of one year and six months before we finally received an inaccurate, itemized, estimated bill. They were trying to charge us for work they did not complete. To this day, one year and ten months later, this bill continues to be inaccurate because they have work listed that was never completed by Paul Davis. Then they falsified extra work that never happened because it could not be preformed because of the absence of the need for it. One of the items was for removing a double layer of underlayment which was never present. How does someone charge for something that you can't even see because it's not there? They are charging us for items that we completed without them. I highly recommend that you search for another construction/reconstruction company to complete your home repair needs. Look for reviews on yelp and Better Business Bureau before you hire someone. Paul Davis is most certainly not the company you want to use. There's no time for Paul Davis. read more

I have never left a negative review before, but in this case I have to. I cannot even put into words how disgusted I am with this company. We had them put a new roof on for us almost 4 years ago and it's already shot. I called them for days and they would not return my call. Finally they passed me from office to office not wanting to take responsibility. They finally sent a guy out who seemed great and then totally disappeared. Then they sent an engineer out to say that out house doesn't vent properly and that is why our roof is already rotted and we have mold and water stains on our ceilings. If they have had halfway decent roofers do my roof they would have recommended more ventilation. My husband and I have tried reaching out to them a couple of more times and no responses. This was the worst most unprofessional experience I have ever had with a company like this. My insurance uses Paul Davis and I thought they were a reputable company. A pipe broke in the bathroom and insurance told me Paul Davis would get back to me for water clean up within an hour. 3 hours later I had to call them to get someone to come out. This was Friday and she told me somone would come out Monday morning to pick up drying fans. Monday morning no one showed. Late Monday afternoon I had to call to find out what was going on. She said the local office was closed but she would send an email and they would get back to me. No one did. Tuesday I called again during business hours and they said they would send someone to pick up the fans. I asked if he could give an estimate. The lady on the phone assured me that was no problem. I was at work when they came to pick up fans. The man who came would not give an estimate but said he would send pictures to his boss. I called the next day to find out what was going on. Couldn't get ahold of a person so I left a message to please call back. No one ever called back. That was 2 weeks ago. My sister's family was coming from Texas so I had no time to wait. My Brother in law put in some drywall to fill the gaping hole in the wall and my son reconnected the sink but that is as far as we got. My bathroom is still in a shambles. Then 2 days ago I got a bill from Paul Davis for 1400+ dollars! read more

We had a leak under our bathroom sink that we didn't know about until it leaked through the floor and into the finished basement. I called one of the "big name" water mitigation companies first as I had seen a commercial but I wasn't happy with the answers I got from them. I called Paul Davis Restoration next and they have been amazing!! They came out right away and were able to give us a very reasonable quote, which they stuck to, and were able to save us a ton of work (and money) as far as having to replace carpets and drywall. Barry & Griffin were both super nice and professional and there weren't any surprises as far as additional unexpected charges. They did everything they said they would do within the time frame they said they would do it. They were available any time I had questions throughout the entire process and they worked around our schedule. I couldn't be happier with the service we got from Paul Davis Restoration and I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs this type of service. read more

Paul Davis is a BIG company, which typically means small (to zero) 'true' customer care. My wife and I had a water leak from an apartment above, Paul Davis was called by condominium management, and when they began work, they presented a contract to sign allowing them full control of restoration (meaning they wanted to tear up 'everything') I made an addendum to the contract so they were only permitted to do what I was comfortable with. They agreed but were noticeably angry (less work = less money.) They insisted I had water damage in so many areas, but, when my contractor arrived who makes restores and repairs, his moisture reader showed these areas were completely dry. I now see them in the hallway where I live completely demolishing other apartments that had minimal damage because the unit owners signed their contact in a rush. If you feel like being taken for a ride, yes, use Paul Davis. If you want someone who doesn't like to make profits off of your tragic loss, avoid this company like the plague.
