Beautiful handcrafted, both indoor and outdoor furniture. We're redoing our kitchen and looked for a kitchen set to replace our 22 year old kitchen table. We've been looking but haven't seen a set we both loved. Well, the search is over. Peaceful Valley Amish Furniture, you want everything in the store! We looked at a few sets that we really liked, when I came across this set I knew our search was complete. We started talking to the folks behind the counter, I tell them we need one more barstool for a total of 7 chairs. I'm told, let me contact the builder and see if he has any more in stock. 10 minutes later, the builder doesn't have any more in stock but will make one more chair, just for you?! I think I love you... How cool is that, this wasn't made on an assembly line but someone from the area made the beautiful table and chairs by hand. Delivery, I'm told them only take cash. They called my cell a few weeks later and came to, I like to see people struggle saying East Setauket NY, haha. Sure enough, they came and put together the table. We love our purchase and cannot thank you again Peaceful Valley Amish Furniture for getting the extra stool for us.

My wife and I drove out from Pittsburgh to visit a number of vendor's showrooms. We'd already…read morespent time in Amish areas of Ohio. While various vendors (including online order sites ) do sell items made by the same shops, we value and want to reward (so to speak) the showrooms that educate, help customize, and allow one to see/feel/touch items of interest or similar-enough, in any case. Caleb was our primary point of contact to order two highly customized chairs, a custom keystone table to go between them, and one ottoman. One of the customizations was one I could find on no website anywhere for the manufacturer we had chosen. Caleb contacted them and navigated all our demanding requests with patience and cheer and, generally, in a reasonable time frame (we were erratic on our end a bit, too -- give and take). Our estimate was 2-4 months and we were called exactly at 3months. They held the items for several days until I could drive out, helped load things up, and just happened to have some fresh sweet rolls to share! (I loved that the kids were selling some 3D printed parts they designed in a CAD package just inside the store.) I trusted they had checked everything over and belive they had -- We got home and found everything to be absolutely perfect. Beautiful select+ grade QSWO, well-selected, constructed, and finished. $5200 for two chairs, the table, and an ottoman actually seems fair given the quality. These are our first non-IKEA or hand-me-down furniture items and we are proud to own them. We will be buying a new dining table and chairs from them in the future, no doubt. One note: My wife and I had forgotten her reclining chair had an internal lever that is sorta' hidden by the cushion AND also needed to figure out how the backs slid and clicked into place. While I'm a handy engineer and this was easy enough, I could imagine some folks might have benefitted from a little instruction. Perhaps that was not given as Caleb personalizes service, I dunno. As per another's recent trouble here on yelp, there is only so much any vendor can do with long lead times from Amish workshop partners. Given my initial experiences and interactions, I can can't imagine they would do anything but follow the Golden Rule in helping reasonable customers.

Let's touch on that for a moment.....prices are not horrible, but they are horrible compared to what I'm used to. THIS IS A BOUTIQUE THRIFT STORE. The staff even told me so, and is geared towards the tourist crowd, or those folks that might not otherwise purchase good second hand. At first glance, you won't know you're in a thrift store by the merchandise offerings and elevated displays and that's kind of the point. It's beautiful and their "better" name donations will end up here moving forward. It's evident someone with a skilled eye is responsible for the store layout and displays, which are beautiful. Parking is ample in their own lot. Hours are limited as of now but that could change when tourist season is in full swing. They will NEVER be open on Sundays, as they are a christian based ministery and the stores raise funds for addicts and their recovery.. What you won't find here is a huge selection, but adequate, the best of the best. Housewares unless it's higher end or decorative. A second floor is currently being renovated for future expansion, and the staff are wonderfull.
