This place is a joke. Had a remote start installed come to find out it wasn't a top of the line viper that was installed like I paid for. Lee installed a piece of shit alarm system and remote start doesn't work like advertised. Lee says he would do such thing. Had a paper receipt cause he's still in the old days and doesn't do electronic receipts. After arguing with him with over an hour he wants me to pay his service tech to uninstall and reinstall the one I originally paid for. Buyers go elsewhere before you get scammed like I did. Had work done there a few years ago spent easily about 6k for a bunch of different things on my car. Few years later and most of these things are not working correctly. I called Lee back to ask if I can bring it in to get looked at and he got extremely rude and defensive with me and gave me an attitude right from the start of the conversation. I never accused them of doing it wrong in the first place, I just simply said it wasn't working anymore now and wanted to get it fixed. He got even more defensive when trying to make an appointment time and I simply asked how long it would take because I'd have to leave work in order to bring it in during his hours, and he compared himself to a doctor saying he didn't know how long. I just wanted to know if I should wait there or Uber home and then come back... Terrible customer service. I regretfully have sent this business MULTIPLE customers and I can definitely say I never will again. I highly advise if you want an honest company with good customer service, good quality work, and honest workers, to never bring your car here. read more

If you are looking for an honest, upstanding, man of his word, don't get work done by Lee at impact audio. I recently had my windows tinted in a coupe. The price was agreed upon of $250 for 22% for ceramic tint. A week later the tint is peeling and it isn't ceramic. I called Lee and explained my situation. Lee said that he charges $250 for ceramic and I only paid $150 and didn't ask for ceramic. Lee then went back and looked at my receipt and apologized for misquoting himself. Lee agreed to refund me $100 and told me to come back in. When I got there Lee changed his story again and said that they should have charged more for what I got and also my tint was 35%. I told Lee that my tint was supposed to be 22% and ceramic. Lee then took a tint meter outside to prove that I asked for and received 35%. Lee once again only proved himself to be mistaken. ( The tint was 22% non ceramic) After all this Lee didn't want to refund the $100 because he said he only made $50 in the deal. This is the last time that I get work done at impact Audio and I would advise anyone who cares about honesty to also stay away. read more

DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE!!! I had used Lee a couple times in the past to install an audio system and sound deadening on my former vehicle (a stock Ford Focus ST) with the only issue being me overhearing him say "that fu#@er said he was gonna call me back" to his wife when he called me and didn't realize I had already picked up the phone. When I got my new car (a Ford Focus ST with a larger turbo and meth injection system), I called him to transfer the equipment over and return the old car to the stock system as I never had a problem with his actual work. He assured me that he would "take care of me" but was evasive every time I asked him for a hard quote. Nevertheless, I trusted his words and dropped my car off. Big mistake. He proceeded to tear my car apart from top to bottom to install sound deadening material even though all I told him was I simply wanted him to transfer the system over and install a radar detector. Again, he assured me that we were "going to do it right" this time and he would take care of me so I didn't object. After over a week of waiting, my car was finally ready to be picked up. When I arrived, I immediately noticed a giant blue "Impact Audio 248-366-6900" sticker on my rear windshield. He saw me looking at it and let me know I could take it off but that it "looks really good with this color". He was showing me the work he had done when he said "this car has some weird horsepower with the front wheel drive". I looked at him dumbfounded and he tells me, "I took it for a little spin". I was pretty much speechless at this point. He then proceeded to hand me a bill for $2,600 which was about $1,000 more than I wanted to spend and assured me that it was a "really good deal". However, I found the radar detector online for $350 but Lee charged me $550 for it ($200 to install a radar detector?). A while later, I got a message from the radar detector saying "Speed trap approaching" on I-75. This detector let's you mark areas where you see speed traps but I had never done so. This makes me think he sold me a unit that was already used. But this was only the start of my problems. The next day, I noticed the roof was bent very badly in the corner where it meets the windshield and the airbag light was on. Lee assured me that the airbag light would go away by itself but to bring it back to fix the roof. However, he he was ultimately unable to fix it. Also, shortly after, my water / meth injection system went out. The mechanic I brought my car to told me in all likelihood, the guys at impact audio grounded it out and fried it when they were installing the system. They also commented on the shoddy electrical work they had done (using scotchlocks instead of tying the wires together). Fixing this ultimately cost me $500. When winter started, I noticed that the rear defroster didn't work. I took the car back to the same mechanic who asked me if I had took out the center console. I reminded him about the work Impact Audio had done and he said there were all kinds of things broken behind it, screws missing etc. and that whoever was back there "didn't give a fu@k about your car". This was the reason the rear defroster light was broken and the airbag light was on. Another $150 out of pocket. Take your car to Mickey Shorr or any other large shop but save yourself the $$$ and heartache and do not bring it to Lee. read more

Just picked up my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee from Lee. I had a remote starter installed. I actually received it as a gift. I was thrilled because I park in the driveway and the wife parks in the garage...go figure. Lee has a great selection of remote starters basic to all the bells and whistles. I called to ask when he would be able to fit me in and it was next day. When I picked up my Jeep Lee showed me how to use the remote starter and explained all the functions. I love this thing! I had a terrible experience getting a Viper Remote Start Installed. The owner was always super rushed and frazzled. If he had been more thorough on the phone when I first called, not cut me off, and listened better, this mess might have not happened. This place was not knowledgeable about their product. They installed a remote start system on my car that was not compatible according to them. I spoke to Viper and they told me the system is compatible with my car, so not sure what happened at Impact Audio. They kept the car hours longer than promised and I had to pick up pretty late at night. Upon arriving, I find its not even working. The owner offers to fix it by adding a different Viper remote. The next day, the same thing happened with the time, and the car is done hours after the owner had promised it would be. Upon arriving again, he then charges me the labor and cost of remote. I was shocked. He had been totally unclear about this. I ended up paying significantly more that I was quoted. He also made an awesome 'joke' about me being a girl and not being able to appreciate cars because of my sex AFTER all this. read more
