They provide bows, arrows, and lessons for people trying it out for the first time. They offer kids classes on Saturdays from 9am - 11am and can teach kids as young as 4-years old to 13-years old. Extremely Disappointed!! We scheduled and paid for a birthday party for my daughter on August 30th 1 month in advance. The day of our party, I arrived with 4 eager children and a picnic lunch only to find a sign on the door that said, "Impact Archery will be closed on August 30th." I called Monday to find out what happened, and why they canceled my daughter's birthday party without notifying us they said, "Everyone went hunting, and I didn't think to check the schedule." Ultimately, The Spot Archery in Fresno accommodated my daughter's birthday party with no reservations or prior warning. They went as far as opening the range outside of their normal business hours, with one hour notice in an effort to ensure my daughter's birthday celebration was not totally ruined. Needless to say, we will not be going back to Impact Archery for any reason. We will take all of our business to The Spot Archery in Fresno from now on. read more

The facility is great. Plenty of lanes. That's worth three stars. Mondays through Thursdays are best if you're not working because there aren't a lot of archers. Not sure about the evenings during the weekdays. My guess is everyone is off work and is out target practicing. I know for sure that Fridays and Saturdays can get very busy, which can get crowded. Sometimes you'd have to wait for awhile for your turn. The downside (minus two stars) is the young kid working the counter. Not friendly and seemed annoyed when asked questions about recurve vs. longbows, carbon vs. aluminum arrows, feather vs. plastic fletching, point grains, etc.. For any beginner archer, like myself, we are going to have hundreds of questions. We just want to scrape the tip of the iceberg. This young kid should learn to have patience and explain it to the best of his knowledge. Instead he gave off this vibe like he didn't want to help or answer any questions. That on a personal opinion, tells me that he's not very knowledgeable at what Impact Archery is selling. It's like a doctor telling his/her patient that the patient is sick but gives no explanation as to why or what's causing the illness. I did purchase a couple hundred bills worth from them last time. Although, last time it was from an older gentleman who was patient. Was gonna purchase some items from them again, but that young kid made me change my mind. Called 3 Rivers Archery and they patiently answered all my questions. They even offered to help answer future questions if I had any that hasn't crossed my mind yet. This place is great! The new owner and operator Brian is very knowledgeable and willing to answer questions. A big change from the last time I'd gone to Impact Archery. That was about 5 years ago and was very underwhelmed with the service. I was looking for information about getting into archery hunting but left feeling frustrated and without anymore information than I had before. Big difference this time around, Brian answered all my question on multiple visits. I always left better informed and feeling more comfortable with my next decision. First time going with my lady nice gentleman helped teach me and was such an amazing space and energy

So I brought my bow into Impact to get it restrung and after an unfair price I brought it home to shoot. The first two arrows seemed fine but on the third when I came to full draw, the string cam off the cam and it was crazy. I brought my bow in wondering if they could put it back on but they wanted to charge me and told me I must have dry fired it. I will not be going back ever again and I suggest no one else does. Hadn't owned a bow since I was a kid in the 90's but being a former Marine I know a few things about shooting and weapons. The guys (and girl) at Impact Archery are fantastic and knowledgeable from Re curve sport/competitive shooting to hunting Deer and dangerous game. The selection at the store is good but not on the level of a Pro Shop located in a more 'hunter friendly' region of the United States, can't fault them for that though, Vegas is what it is (their stock seems to be mostly higher end equipment). The young lady working during my first visit was very helpful in assisting my niece (11 yrs) about choosing her first compound bow and took time to answer any questions we had. My second visit I met the owner (Tim? who had just broken his foot the day before on a hunting accident, yet was wheeling around on a kids bike assisting everyone in there) and his dad, both excellent gentleman and true master huntsmen. Their pro shop is also first rate and Tim can tune any bow you bring him regardless of the problem. They will also order anything you could possibly want that they might not have on the shelf and I found their prices to be the lowest in town (just picked up a 2016 Defiant Turbo and Tim sold it to me at under MSRP plus a 10% military discount). Also if you buy a bow from them they also comp you 1 free month of range access. They also give you lifetime free service on said bow (unless you are retarded and dry fire it, but that's your own damn fault =p) If you don't see what you are looking for make sure to ask an employee, they will order it but some of the best bows made on the market have HUGE waiting lists for them (the factories are back ordered), the Carbon Defiant I was interested in had a 6 month wait!. So don't beat around the bush and expect it to be there next time you come in, don't wait forever like I did!. A great bunch of people there, I'm saddened to see a few bad reviews about the place on Yelp but as a Wolfgang Puck bartender for ten years I know that in the service industry it is impossible to please everyone. Yes the place can be very busy on weekends and prime time (after 5), but if you can manage to get there in the early afternoon then Tim, his dad and the young lady that works there will take the time to answer any questions and shoot the shit, I yacked Tim's ear off for probably 40 minutes my second time in. A word of advice for the new and inexperienced. Going to an Archery Pro shop or a Gun Shop that has ranges can be very very intimidating to those who are new to the sport (natural reaction around any weapon). Remember, archery is probably the most ancient martial art in the world. Walk in to the shop with an open mind and leave your ego at the door. Give whatever Master Archer you are learning from the proper respect, as you should do with any true Master of an art form. Take initiative, ask questions, be very descriptive about what you are having problems with and don't get offended if you get a slight chuckle in response while someone is teaching you. Most important of all, DON'T get frustrated, this isn't easy, some people are naturals, others might take years to be proficient. The staff here will ABSOLUTELY take the time to help you if you are honest and upfront about it (which is why checking your ego at the door is a must, you have no idea how many Vegas meat heads walk into the place and act like they are Robin Hood and then proceed to draw back on a 1,200 dollar bow and dry fire it {costing the store a huge amount of money}). Remember, in the mind of a true master, the techniques and disciplines of a martial art are so deeply ingrained in them that it becomes pure instinct, they interact with it on the sub-conscious level (by the time I had 4 years into my Marine contract I was almost unable to teach new guys the basics because I couldn't put those complex disciplines into words). Asking Tim how to aim and sight a bow in at range with wind is like asking Bruce Lee how to throw a punch. read more

He was humiliating his staff in front of customers for booking a birthday party over the phone! Instead of being happy that he has customers in his place. I called this facility to arrange a time to shoot. I was told they do not take reservations. Come on down, NO PROBLEM. We arrived at 4:30p.m. We were told there was NO availability, it would be about an hour. We drove TWO HOURS to take a break from the fire we have been engulfed in for almost a month. I was told they used to take reservations, but too many people didn't show up. Here's a good idea...take a credit card for a reservation, if no one shows, CHARGE IT for an hour!!!!! No brainer!! I purchased a Hoyt bow from Impact about 9-10 years ago. I sold it to a cousin a few years later and have subsequently reacquired it again. I called Impact and asked how much it would be to reset and re-tune it to my dimensions. They said if I bought it from them, then it is no charge. Of course one has to pay for any new string sets, but the setup is on the house since I bought it there! What a great American company!!! This is the kind of service that one cannot get from an Internet dealer or big corporate chain!! Way to go Impact! Keep it up. Paid cash for a new Hoyt bow, was told about 2 week's for delivery, after 3 weeks I went in too check on it, was told it would be 4 to 6 weeks, I asked him to please call about delivery date he said he would, I told him if he couldn't get a delivery by Saturday that I would be back up for a full refund the guy at the shop told me that be no problem I would be able to get a full refund I came up here this Saturday to get my refund he takes my receipts walks in the back calls his boss and says you can't do anything until the owner gets here and you talk to him which is at 2 o'clock here it is 10 o'clock I drove 60 miles to the shop clearly stated that I was going to get a full refund and then they're going to make me wait around to 2 o'clock I am getting the worst Hassle and shake up and total runaround from any business I've ever been in. read more

If I can give this place 0 stars, I would! My family was so excited to go do some archery as we have not done that in awhile. When we arrived, we were greeted by an old man who told us wait an hour to begin shooting since they were full, but we had seen that the shooting lanes were EMPTY. The old man had no sympathy whatsoever when he told me and my family that they won't honor the full 2 hours of my Groupon deal if we came back at a later time. We decided to wait and lo and behold we were able to start shooting within 10 minutes. The old man who set us up told us we each get 4 targets, but on one bale saying that they're busy. We go in there and there are 3 lanes that were not occupied by anyone who was shooting. Our bale that was given to us was 5 yards away from where we were shooting, which was fine for my nephews since they were young, but for me and my in law, it was too close. Imagine 2 full grown women shooting a target 5 yards away. How pathetic and embarrassing does that look? The man who taught us how shoot was surprisingly nice and told us we will get to shoot the 20 yard distance soon once we get a hang of it. He also told us we can have 2 lanes since there was 4 of us. After the lesson, the girl who was working there took up one of our lanes to teach a kid how to shoot. She clearly saw us with 2 lanes earlier, and yet took one of our lanes which left us with 1 lane to shoot. Keep in mind there were 4 of us shooting. The old man comes around and starts socializing, checking up on the shooters, reinforcing their stance, and teaching them how to shoot all the while avoiding and neglecting us completely. 4 gentlemen came in after us and were given each their own lane to shoot the full 20 yards. Remind me if I'm wrong, but were we not first in line? Did you not think 2 full grown women would not want to shoot the full distance? Anywho, he clearly saw all four of us taking turns on this tiny bale and didn't even offer us the bale next to ours to shoot. And surprise! It was EMPTY! One hour into shooting and we were sick and tired of being discriminated against, so we left the range and asked one of the workers how come we didn't get a different bale when the worker who had taught us earlier told us we will and that worker, rudely, responded that since it was busy we had to share. It was EMPTY for the last hour we were there!!!!! We left without saying a word and are never going back. I WILL NOT SUPPORT A BUSINESS WHO DISCRIMINATES AND TREATS ITS' CUSTOMERS UNFAIRLY. We have the right to be treated equally and deserve the same amount of attention as everyone else who was present at the range. I have experienced countless bad services, but never as bad as this one. Never again will I set foot into this place. What a complete waste of my money! P.S. Does it make sense that the OWNER of the company, Tim Burnett (aka Tim B.) would write reviews on HIS OWN company saying that they are always busy and that they have great customer service? How is it that on their Guest Book, all the bad reviews are left unpublished, but all the good reviews are published? Wrote on their guest book and received an unsympathetic "sorry". I purchased a Compound bow for my husband for Christmas here and Vinnie was more then willing to help me with all my questions. He was a able to give me a decent deal for all the stuff I needed and gave my husband a card for some lessons. I was told to return for fitting of the bows and so he can teach my husband how to use it . We went today but its the day after Christmas and the store was closed , which is understandable . I have been shooting here since buying my Elite Energy 35 bow. They are technically knowledgeable and all shoot in competitions or hunt. I will be frank in that they have very strong opinions about certain broad heads, string, and arrows. Who does not, but sometimes they can get a little over the top in said topics when brought up. On the rest of it about equipment and shooting facilities they are really good. They have a lot of accurate shooters in there so the targets will show this and they do rotate targets out. You get several things when buying here. Lifetime service on purchased bow in regards to tuning, installation of components, and when something seems wrong they normally have an idea of why. If you are a new shooter they do have a service where you can be shown how to shoot and provided with arrows, bow, and target for $13 last I knew. One of the staff will help you out and typically people like me will point out tips from time to time so you shoot better. There is one thing that should be known though. When ordering stuff it can take a short time to a really long time. This is not because of them, but actually the carrier/ware house they have to use. This ware house is normally good about shipments. Then there is other sources such as Easton who will hit hunting week and seem to stop operations completely which also effects shipments. So please do not take them as the reason it is not coming in and do no remove your Impact sticker from the gear as this shows you bought from them. read more
