What a beautiful studio, staff are very friendly, upbeat, and very positive my experience for the first time in the good dirt pottery studio was very fantastic as I attended a Yelp event. The group was given a large dish plate as the group was participating in a painting event. I would highly recommend this place if anyone is looking for something fun or relaxing to do in town. This would make for a great girls day out or get together and I would suggest that anyone who's looking to have some brunch would call first and see if bringing your own alcohol is OK to do so. I was so excited to be part of this event with Yelp and even more excited once I walked in! Such a great, welcoming environment with so much to create and do. You can definitely get lost in time there, I personally stayed there past closing time but the team was so sweet about it! This was such a fun experience! I felt like I was back in elementary school doing art with classmates while teachers walked around being helpful and encouraging. Drawing the design and then painting it on the dish was so therapeutic and calming. I was in a flow state and I got to have fun conversations while, at the same time, focusing on my painting. I would highly recommend coming here with friends and experiencing this. I think it's fun for adults and kids. And you get a masterpiece that you can use! 10 out of 10 :) read more

I have taken the 4 week course a try night and am now a member. I wish I could put into words what a good experience it has been. I will try :) the owners are extremely encouraging and employees are helpful. Its a great community truely. Sometimes I think its hard to try new thing and push our selves but this studio has given me that and more. My sisters and I went to a Tuesday try night. It's a 2 hour introduction to pottery experience. You check in and then pick your stations... I would say arrive early, there is limited coat hangers to hang your jacket. And word of advice, leave your purses at home, you will end up putting it on the floor. The instructor will first demonstrate and review the whole pottery process. It is ALOT of information in a short amount of time... I ended up zoning out during the demonstration. The instructor and assistant instructor were very helpful!!! I needed a lot of assistance, and both seemed happy to help! The overall experience was great. The amount of attendees to instructors is a good ratio. Good Dirt Pottery Studio definitely maximizes the amount of time spent wheel spinning-- with no previous experience I was able to make 2 pieces (with assistance from the instructors :P). If you have thought about trying out pottery and wheel spinning, I would recommend this place! read more

I went on a try night and what a great experience! The instructors were thorough and were helpful throughout. We were able to make two pieces and picked them up a few weeks after when they sent a text that they were ready. My party of 3 tried the Saturday 12-2 ceramic painting and we enjoyed it! The only suggestion I have is to properly display what colors you have and don't have, it wasn't just our party who was having a hard time with it. It's pretty frustrating that they had colors listed that weren't available. And by the time we started figuring it out the Lady kept putting pressure on us to leave by standing around watching us and peeping over our shoulders and telling us how much time we had left every 5 mins! Not very peaceful while you're trying to finish painting. read more

Took the 4 week beginner wheel throwing class here with Yesenia, and it was such an awesome experience! She went above and beyond to make sure everyone was comfortable, centered the demos around what we personally were interested in, and answered all the questions with so much patience and kindness. It was such a highlight of my weeks. Even if you think you may not have the "artistic touch", she gave us plenty of modifications and advice until we were all happy with what we had thrown. I'd recommend this class to anyone, whether they are curious to learn about pottery, try something new, or just have a few hours to themselves to decompress through the week. We were able to create 6 things from start to finish and had lots of time for trial (and error). It was a great deal for the level of instruction, clean and welcoming space, clay, tools, glazes, trimming etc included. Overall 10/10 experience! read more

Helpful staff, welcoming atmosphere, and a fun experience are waiting here. I would highly recommend wearing something you feel comfortable getting dirty! I surprised my wife with a visit to one of their Friday "Try Nights" for our date night, where we joined a group of about 12 other people (almost all couples too) to learn how to make a bowl and cup. There was a little hiccup when we arrived since they apparently had a mix up with my reservation, explaining that sometimes their system books incorrectly. So I would advise folks to save your reservation confirmation/receipt and be prepared to show it. We were then presented with a blizzard fast presentation of how to create a bowl and cup. It was honestly so fast and so much information that I stopped listening part of the way through. It seems they do this to make you familiar with the process so you can do it mostly alone once you start, but it genuinely feels overwhelming at first. We were then seated and allowed to dig in, and antics ensued! Given that the instructors do this daily and I do not, I expected that my attempts would be much less smooth and/or successful than theirs, so I wasn't frustrated by my struggles and others also seemed to take them in stride. The instructors were responsive and helpful, at times maybe too much so. For example, I had to restart a project since I'd ruined mine, and after the instructor gave me more clay, she went ahead and completed the initial shaping of the cup for me. It ended up not really feeling like "mine" since she did most of the work, and I wish she would have asked first. The experience was otherwise fun and a nice way to be creative in a pressure free environment. read more

The experience was going great. Nice staff and the kids were having a great time. We had went here for a field trip. It wasn't until one of the owners came in when things got uncomfortable and awkward. She completely belittled 2 female staff members in front of myself and the students. I understand constructive criticism but her tone, body language, wording and everything about it was not right. She also did it in front of me and my students which i was surprised about. Even my students looked at me and were uncomfortable with her disciplining her staff members in front of us. I can only imagine what she tells them privately. One of the members looked like she wanted to cry. I was embarrassed for her. Completely unprofessional as an owner on her end. I would not be supporting a business who talks to the employees the way she does in front of people and especially kids. read more

I love pottery, and I decided to take a four week class at this location in 2022; after I was done with wheel class I was hooked! i've been going regularly since then, working on wheel thrown and pinch pieces. When I'm in the studio I feel at peace in a natural environment that has become my zen place and one of my favorite things to do on a weekly basis! I love how everybody is so helpful especially when you're new and not familiar with pottery. All the members have become friends and it really feels like a family when you are inside. The space is perfect and very inviting. In fact they just expanded and have so much space to just play with clay!! I love that they have enough wheels that even when a class is in session you still have enough for the members to use! It's my clean spiritual happy place to be and clear my mind & soul! I've been waiting for this studio to open and wasn't disappointed. It's open & inviting. The ladies who own this little gem are so helpful. I haven't had any experience with clay since high school (many years ago) & this studio felt right. I've started with 2 classes. One is hand building & the other is a beginning class using the pottery wheel. If you aren't sure about your skill level, go for a hand building class. You will walk out with a few amazing pieces & think "did I really make these?" The beginning wheel class is where my challenge is. The instruction is so good & I actually made a few pots during my first class. I can't wait to get back in there. It's so much fun, I almost hate to put the word out because I want it all to myself. So much fun!! We did the "Grandma Camp" clay building class. We were a foursome of ages 10, 15, 56, and 78. We all had such a wonderful time there and all of our projects came out great!
