The horses did not seem very healthy either. I came across Tally Ho on Facebook. I was impressed by the owner's generous spirit and kindness to others. Marti does so much for Veterans and others. I figured that care would transfer to her horses and to her guests...and I was right. I was immediately struck by how warm and welcoming Marti was when she greeted us. Then when I saw the horses and facilities I knew I hit the jackpot. Very clean, very organized and gorgeous horses that are very well taken care of. Marti is all about teaching. This isn't " plop on a horse and get led around." You LEARN. And in a very fun way! By the end of our session my 6 year old granddaughter was off the lead and really riding! She was ecstatic. She also learned how to care for a horse (as did I) which is important. She LOVED it and can't stop talking about it. I rode too and I've never had anyone take the time to teach me. It was thrilling to be able to actually understand how a horse thinks and what I need to do to ride. It was a huge confidence boost and I am actually getting teary eyed writing this thinking of Marti and of course, my girl Maddie. Tally Ho is now my go to place. And it's not just for kids. The horses are well trained and cared for, and the staff is attentive, patient and kind. The ride was beautiful. We did a one hour tour that crossed a creek twice and went up and down hills. The staff does a verbal training and allows some time for practice--making sure that everyone is comfortable before heading out. They even stopped part of the way to check everyone's saddles and take photos. I highly recommend these stables when in the Yosemite area. As a plus, flush toilets are available at check-in.

She also cares about you so if you fall off she gives you a minute to breathe and get back on the horse. I find it super fun to go there after a long day of school because school can sometimes be stressful, hanging out and riding horses can cause stress to go away. Riding horses can be therapy when you're feeling anxious or stressed from anything.
