Referral process: They declined our referral stating that the provider did not have the proper…read morecredentials---they didn't bother to call the provider and try to help. They sent us home. Numerous new referrals were sent via fax and Viera Diagnostic claimed they did not receive any of them when we called to follow-up. We asked if they would let us know when they received the referral and they stated that we would just need to keep calling to see if they received it. Eventually, I had to call the provider and receive a new printed copy through their portal to physically provide Viera Diagnostics. That should've been a sign! That whole debacle delayed us getting the x-ray. The appointment: The x-ray tech was kind and professional. Results: Results were never provided to my son's doctor. The x-ray was needed in a timely manner to make treatment decisions. At the appointment, they said it'd be 2-3 days. I never heard from them so figured they had sent results to the referring doctor, which is typically standard protocol (unless the patient or family is advised otherwise). Over a week later, I didn't hear anything from my doctor and when I called Viera Diagnostic Center to follow-up, I was told it'd be sent immediately (no apology or explanation was provided for the delay). However, nothing happened as our doctor still never received the images. Following a 2nd call and a request to speak with the manager, the results were suddenly received by our doctor. At this point, the x-ray was completed 1 day shy of 2 weeks ago. The results were simply an interpretation that sounded minimal---NO IMAGES for the referring doctor to review!! The manager never called me either. There is also no portal for the patient to access images. For a very simple x-ray, this process caused me a lot of stress!

I got lucky via some friends who recommended me to Brevard Skin and Cancer Center. Specifically they told me to see ALLISON RACO, PA-C! It was some of the best advice I have ever received. She saw me right away, and not only was my lip was pre-cancerous but I had a big spot on my shoulder. She excised them and sent them out for testing. My lip she got on my first visit. It came back clean. My shoulder needed minor surgery, it to came back clean. If you have an idea you may have something troublesome, do not hesitate to see her. She IS THE BEST! A lovely young lady who listens to you and gives you straight answers. I highly recommend Allison to anyone, bar none.

I recently had a MOHS procedure done at Brevard Skin and Cancer Center by Dr. Minor. After the…read moreprocedure was done, what started out to be the size of a pea ended up being about the size of a quarter or larger and required 15 stitches. After the procedure was done, I was given an handout, and number six bullet point on the handout said, For minor pain and discomfort, please take extra strength Tylenol. Well, the next day at 71, I required a little more strength than extra strength Tylenol. I needed something stronger, so I called and spoke to his PA, at which time she informed me that quote-unquote Dr. Minor doesn't prescribe opioids to his patients. When I insisted a second and third time, I said, Please have the doctor call me. After three weeks, he sent me a letter stating that the physicians of this office no longer want to provide any further care to your dermatological needs. After being seen there for 13 years by another doctor, they basically have banned me from the practice. I find this rude, insensitive, and unprofessional. I wouldn't let these doctors work on your animals. Having said that, stay away for your own safety.

I came to this center during one of the hardest and most frightening times of my life, reaching out…read morefor support at a moment when I genuinely needed it. What I received instead was inaction, condescension, and a kind of hostility that was all the more disorienting for being wrapped in a polite tone. I made contact through ordinary, appropriate channels. Rather than being met with care, I was treated as though reaching out was itself a problem, as though someone in crisis asking for support was an inconvenience or a concern to be managed rather than a person to be helped. Underneath the performed warmth, was nice nasty condescension and a clear message that my needs were too much. That message was delivered in a way designed to appear reasonable while it was delivered with contempt. I also want to name something about how this center staffs its support. Partnering women in acute crisis with graduate trainees is not appropriate. People reaching out at the worst moments of their lives are not practice cases for the next generation of mental health professionals, but that is exactly what it was. As a client, I was treated like material for someone's training rather than a person receiving care. When the support you reach for is structured around the learning needs of a student rather than the immediate needs of the person in crisis, the person in crisis is the one who pays. And I paid for it. When Heather, a supervisor became involved, the experience got worse. Her tone had a thin veneer of pleasantry that masked dismissiveness. I was talked down to, treated as though I didn't understand my own situation, and steered through a process that centered the center's procedures rather than anything resembling actual attention to the person in front of them. I was never asked what I wanted or needed. It was framed as help. But it was not help. I was managed out the door while being told it was for my benefit. There is a particular harm in being failed by the very people whose stated purpose is to support you, and in being made to feel that your reasonable need for care is a red flag. At a moment when I was already carrying more than I could hold, this added a fresh injury on top of it. I left more hurt than when I arrived. Care is not condescension delivered with sarcasm. Care is not deciding someone's course of action and calling it a referral. Care is not treating a person in crisis as a liability to be handled. Care is not handing a person at their most vulnerable to someone still learning the job. Whatever this was, it was not care, and I would caution anyone reaching out at a vulnerable moment to know that what you find here may not be the support you are hoping for. It's another dead end with grant funding. Very disappointing. The women of Brevard county deserve better.

The group members, leader and curriculum helped me understand so much about my family dynamics and how the abuse was allowed to continue for a decade. I have fewer nightmares. I have developed the courage to distance myself from certain family members, to set boundaries and enforce them, to release feelings of shame and guilt I'd been carrying (unknowingly) since age 4 or so. The process took a lot of work, time and heartache, but I am much happier now than I've ever been. I have an indescribable sense of freedom now that I've released the feeling of 'owing' people for allowing me to live. During the time I was attending classes here, I was also heavily involved with Codependents Anonymous. I highly recommend that group in tandem.

I asked her to send me a statement cuz I didn't feel okay doing a payment over the phone with her and she sends me her office screen shot and then writes how many times she has sent me a statement previously. I have told her to stop calling me and she continues to harass me.
