I recently suffered through a series of traumatic life events, and so I attempted to reach out to Dr. Joel Shuy in my time of need. I wanted to to see if it would be possible to continue having sessions with Dr. Shuy, via telehealth appointments, while I'm living in the California area. Dr. Shuy was just as kind, caring, and understanding as he always has been. He permitted me to have sessions with him via long distance, and we've already met for several long distances sessions, via the phone, since I recently reached out to him. Dr. Shuy is truly one of the most gifted and knowledgeable Psychologists that I've ever had the pleasure of being a patient of. Dr. Shuy has helped me so very much in life throughout the years, and now again, he has helped me, substantially so, just in the few sessions that we've recently had.

Never, under any circumstance, should anyone ever engage with this criminal enterprise…read more They have perfected the widely-reported Florida scam where a clearly incompetent person under their care signs a legal Power of Attorney document, allowing these shysters to liquidate all the person's assets. (In this case, parent had advanced Parkinson's disease and was confined to a wheelchair in a nursing home with no ability to speak or write). Not only was this parent's single-family residence liquidated, with all of its' contents, the other long-deceased parent's ashes were buried, against this parent's express wishes to have the ashes scattered in the Atlantic Ocean, in a burial site that was arranged front to back, rather than the more conventional side-by-side. Adding insult to injury, the parent's ashes that were now buried had the wrong name engraved on the shared headstone. It took years of litigation, with multiple Florida law firms on retainer, to redress this horror-show. I never passed through the OB ED department and I never sat on a gurney in the OB area. I was never seen by their OB ED doctor. When I called to complain I was told that when the triage nurse checked my dilation upon arrival and found that I was fully dilated that that brief assessment by a nurse qualified as ED service! As soon as I arrived I was rushed into a delivery room. The bed was unfolded and the baby was on his way. The on-call OB doc rushed in the room right before the baby was delivered. I gave birth vaginally and without complications in less than 15 minutes after arrival the hospital. Their creative billing team finds ways to sneak in extra charges like $1,306.14 dollars for sitting in the recovery room--the same room delivered in--until the closet sized room near the newborn nursery became available.
