Staying at the MGM Grand Hotel for my first wedding anniversary with my husband yesterday and saw one of the most disgusting things happen at the pool. My husband and I went for a quick swim in the beautiful salt-water pool and then decided to check out the rest of the area, primarily the separate hot tubs in each of the locker rooms. I got back to the pool a few minutes before my husband and, unfortunately, witnessed one of the most disgusting displays ever. Remember, this is an adults-only area... Two guys came into the pool area when we were already out and started yelling and talking loudly. They could be heard all over the spa area. This was a totally different vibe than when we first got to the pool area, even though it had been quite busy when we first settled in to take a swim. These guys didn't care that they were completely disrupting the ambiance. The place is supposed to be tranquil as it is a part of a spa, but none of the staff seem to give a crap if people adhere to these rules. This is a place for adults as there is an age restriction; people pay a decent amount of money to use the amenities. We chose this place close to home TO USE THE SALT WATER POOL. That's not the worst of it. I had no idea how to handle what happened next. I'm completely sickened that I was the one to witness this... One of the guys decided to spit right next to the pool and his friend saw this happen AND SAW THAT I SAW WHAT HAPPENED AND JUST SHRUGGED IT OFF! Wtf. This is NOT AN outdoor area, but that it is acceptable either way. He just spit right on the floor by the 'infinity' water edge. Again, they saw that I saw and since we were the only ones around this that time (they ran off the two other people that were lounging in a private party area after what I assumed were their spa treatments), I couldn't believe I wasn't vomiting and that they just didn't care others would be walking through and swimming in the spit. My husband made it back to the pool area and wanted to swim more, but I quietly told him what happened. He was disgusted and I was sad because this was our anniversary and we spent a lot of money to have a good time and pamper ourselves. My husband loves to swim and it's very therapeutic for him to do so to relieve stress. I'm heartbroken our time there was ruined. I went up to a member of the spa staff, but didn't know what to say as I was the only other one around and the guys were still yelling and splashing around loudly and nothing was being said. I ended up asking them a question I had about something else. Sigh. We paid hundreds of dollars for a nice room and wanted a nice experience close to home to be remembered forever. I sure will remember this forever and can't imagine ever returning to the spa that I was hoping to use in the future, as I have a lot of friends who love to go there for a quick retreat. read more

I had a facial at Immerse almost one week ago as part of a friends bachelorette party. I'm a facial regular at another spa, and get a facial about once a month, so I'm pretty familiar with my skin. For more than $200, I expect my esthetician to be educated on different skin types, and provide me a good value for the money spent. The value was subpar- at best, and the esthetician left my skin in much worse shape than what I arrived with. Instead of reaping the benefits of an entire 80 minute signature facial, I was taken back 5 minutes late, and my esthetician spent more time getting the product ready than actually performing services. She also left the room for more than 5 minutes to find a product, which would be fine if I had a mask or something similar on that required a wait time, but I didn't have any product on my face. Not only that, but the esthetician applied some sort of exfoliant to my face which immediately burned. I informed my esthetician that I have relatively dry sensitive skin, and that I generally use gentle products. I know some exfoliants come with a slight stinging sensation, but this was a burning sensation. My skin was immediately red, bumpy, and irritated when I looked in the mirror following my service. 6 days following my service, my skin is still red, irritated, and flaking off. Its not peeling in a way that would be indicative of just having a peel service, but instead is peeling in very small flakes. I didn't want a peel, and have had several events in the days since where it has been embarrassing to have my skin in its current appearance and condition. My friends on the bachelorette party who had massage services were all very happy with their services. If I ever return to Immerse, I will never get a facial again. read more

I struggled with how to write this review since my previous experiences here (I've been a guest with a group of 2 or more over 5 times) have always been great! I bring people back when I can. I was so unbelievably disappointed with my last trip to MGM spa that a review is necessary for change. I booked 4 massaged for an occasion to have a little outing before my Mother-In-Laws double mastectomy the following Tuesday. Very emotional surprise for a very loved woman. I was clear a group of 4 and we wanted to spend time together before the big surgery. I was very excited as I always tell everyone what an amazing spa experience I've always have here. This place is an oasis in the city. It's like going on a vacation for the day. I've only passed on rave reviews. It started out in a bit of a panic. My mother in law had lost a $150 gift card we had gotten her. We surprised her the day-of and she was prepared and did not have the gift card on-hand. I called the spa just to see if they would have all this information on hand in records and they simply said no, unless I have the receipt and then we could request from card supplier. It worked out and she found her card, but know I know NEVER to buy such a large amount gift card that has zero traceability. We get to so and everything is great the massages are amazing per usual. The cold washcloths no longer are with cucumbers slices. No big deal. We grab some large chairs out by the pool and relax, read and order our food. Our food which was estimated 45-60 min was not there yet when we were ask to consolidate our 4 large chairs to 2. The chairs can sit 2, snuggle but it is still comfortable. We are told these large chairs are called cabanas. Not really definition of cabana, but ok. We co plain but oblige apparently they booked a party who booked 'cabanas.' I ask why I wasn't offered to book one as I would have splurged to do so. Only groups of 5 or more it is offered. I've been in a group of 5 and it was never offered to us. There are no signs for this either. We oblige and the 4 of us sit in 2 cabanas. Then about 10 minutes later the same woman realize she miscalculated or the party added on I'm not sure and now claimed she needed all the cabanas.... meanwhile our food in order not arrived. She offered us 1 cabana on other side of pool and 2 straight folding chairs. We complained and she said 'sorry these are contracted out you have to move.' We obliged, but were not happy about this and moved to 1 cabana (just a lounger for 2) and 2 straight chairs so they could set up for the party. We get our food about 45mi after we were asked to move. The entire time the cabanas reserved for these parties remained unoccupied. One woman from one party who witnessed this actually offered her cabana when she left for her 2 hour long pedicure. We have photos of the unoccupied cabanas. I wish the whole venue would have been twittered. It was unreal. We had 5 empty cabanas behind us and 5 empty cabanas on the other side of pool that were 'reserved' we are the rest of food and left to go shower and get ready. Meanwhile the entirety of about 2 hours these 10 cabanas remained unused. The manager gave us free day passes, but honestly that whole experience was horrible. We didn't let it ruin our memory of togetherness, but it sucked that the manager did that to our group. I will not be recommending with my glowing reviews anymore. Honestly with the right manager response it would never have gotten to an online h. She could have easily given us an hour heads up, she could have asked for one person in the group to give us the cabana for an hour until we received our late food, she could have offered to comp our food bill, she could have offered to add on a service. As I stated no where does it state the cabanas are rentable and not always available for use. So sad. Such a great spa and such terrible management. I hope it improves, but reading other reviews sounds like this place is going downhill. I hope it improves! I truly LOVED this spa. read more

4-20-19 Rating this one for my mom. Bought her a gift card to try one of the exfoliating body treatments. She loved it!!! She normally travels all the way to Arizona just to get a spa treatment. It looks like she found her spot. The service was good. My mission is complete. I was determined to find her a local spot with the same service and treatment. I looked at the other casino spas in the area but this one had the most amenities, like pool and sauna. I didn't rate this a 5 star because I have to try it out for myself. I noticed the website had spring specials....can't wait to try. I recommend this place to others for sure!!! read more

I wanted to love the spa but unfortunately it didn't end up that way. My husband and I came for our wedding anniversary for a couples massage and facial. We got there early to hang out in the pool. The spa pool area was very loud and it was difficult to get seating. The pool was freezing. We waited at least a half hour before we were finally able wave down an employee to place a food and beverage order. It took over an hour to get a drink and premade cheese-plate that was served with the plastic wrap still on it. The massages were enjoyable but definitely weren't 60 minutes as we weren't taken into the treatment room until about 10 minutes after our scheduled time, then the orientation of the entire thing, then accounting for time to change. It wasn't terrible but it was disappointing, especially considering how expensive it is. read more

BEST SPA in Michigan. I am not giving this 5 stars because I have been to better spas - but not in Michigan. My friend and I planned a "sunday funday" consisting of massage and facial at Immerse spa and then martini's at Wolfgang puck restaurant in the casion (BEST martinis, btw!!!). We arrived 1 hour early so we had enough time to check-in and enjoy the amenities, such as the steam room and the hot tub. There is no dry sauna at this spa. There was an employee in the locker room, making sure everything was tidy. She was very sweet and asked us many times if we needed anything. Aroma Massage was great. I had a man named Roderick. He applied a good amount of pressure and had great technique. The facial was ok. I should have chosen a regular facial versus just the refresher, which is only 25 minutes. Pool and shower are nice after treatment. You can also order food and drinks poolside. Next time, we will plan a break in between our treatments so we can have a cheese plate and champagne in between! read more

**Edited reveiw** My husband and I had a hiccup in our first visit here which we felt was not handled well. Eventually, I was contacted by the manager, Debbie, who completely took care of the situation and went above and beyond to make it up to us. At our second visit, which was just yesterday, I requested the same massage therapist (Jamel) because he did such a great job the first time I saw him. This time I got the "joy" massage because I'm pregnant and it was (again) amazing! I was impressed by the services I received from Jamel, and now I am impressed by the customer service we received from Debbie in management as well. I really enjoy this spa and will return! read more

I used to go to this spa for my birthday annually until about 3 years ago. Apparently they've increased the pricing and changed the menu of services to consist of minimalist packages. For example, the "Essence" spa treatment, previously at $115 on, I do believe a Mon-Thurs. It consisted of a body scrub, shower then massage with oil. That no longer is available and has been stripped down to either or. In addition there are no day passes for the general public to enjoy a spa day with friends. And lastly, you can purchase a gift card online...but have to wait for it to be delivered in the mail...very prehistoric. The inconvenience is totally not worth me going or even sending anyone as a gift. MGM really needs to reconsider what excellence in customer satisfaction looks like. read more

What a great spa experience. Free valet. Attendant staff at every possible point of experience. I had a facial with Libby. I have never had a facial that was so well done and keyed into relaxing and stress free. Bravo to everyone at Immerse !!!! read more

I'll keep it shorter than other reviews. Well I went here July 10th on my birthday. It was actually a little surprise from my boyfriend. Very pleasant I felt pampered I liked the pool and stuff, nice atmosphere. Spent time with him by the pool side and also got a new massage called gold wrap or something like that. Very friendly staff but the price was kinda other the top $300, I wasn't really happy with that it's kinda ridiculous. Other than that, it was a good experience read more

IMMERSE Spa - Pampered by my BoyfriendBday gift. - Day Spas Near Me - Detroit, Michigan

A nice spa that could be much nicer. Treatments are good, hygiene also. The only thing that bothered me there are the way they manage people of different age...I mean I love kids but there should be some sort of order there...especially weekends.. read more

Kids do not belong in spas! The spa itself is gorgeous. The pool is spectacular and the fitness center, which has outstanding up to date equipment, heated towels and overlooks the pool complex, is world class. I was really looking foward to a relaxing, luxurious day here. I was particularly excited about the pool, and I planned to spend most of the day there today relaxing, ordering food, swimming and enjoying the fitness center and maybe getting a salon and/or spa treatment. Unfortunately the salon appeared to be closed (President's Day) but it didn't matter, the main purpose of my visit was the pool. I had checked out of my hotel and had a LONG wait for my plane, and it would have been perfect to enjoy the day there. Well, unfortunately, my expectations did not meet reality. I got a rude awakening when I got to the locker room and noticed that it was a mess. It smelled bad, had wet towels strewn all about, and had half-empty plastic cups of what might have been beer or apple juice out on the counters. Worse, I heard screaming coming from outside of the locker room. It sounded like .... kids! How could that be? isn't this a LUXURY SPA? Dedicated to serenity, calm and relaxation? The locker room door even mentioned that minors weren't allowed, but clearly kids HAD been in the locker room and had created this mess. When I walked out to the pool, I saw kids screaming their heads off and splashing loudly in the pool. I just couldn't believe it. This was no better than a water park or hotel pool. I had to turn right around and leave. The receptionist told me that hotel guests are allowed to use the pool. I asked, what about the signs requesting quiet in the pool area? what about the expectations of guests that this will be a high end luxury experience? If anyone from MGM is reading this, please note, customers do NOT want kids in spas! Luxury spas are the one place I had hoped to escape noise and irritations and enjoy a peaceful, serene experience. But instead, I left irritated and annoyed. it's not the kids' fault, no one could blame them for being excited to be in a pool, but I have never been in a spa that allowed kids. I was planning a return to the hotel next month but now think I will stay somewhere else, as to me, the major draw of the MGM is the spa. By the way, I couldn't even enjoy the rain head showers or the jacuzzi in the locker room, not just because of the loud screaming (that carried all the way to the reception desk, and I'm sure was audible by those receiving treatments) because there were no towels! Instead of my relaxing spa day, I had to hang out in the lobby of the hotel for 4 hours as I was done with gambling and there's really nothing else to do there. Shame on you, Immerse Spa! read more

My friend decided to go to Immerse rather then her usual spa and wanted me to tag a long, since she had her father's credit card I said why not. We got here a 1/2 hour before our appointment and had time to change, shower, and change into our robes they provided to get ready for our appointments. I got a Sento ritual and a wash of my body, my body cleaned with natural oils, a very nice and long massage on my sore muscles, and after a nice massage of my hands with Shea butter to make sure my skin would be nice and smooth and not crack. After I got a 'Youth' facial to help cleanse my skin of everything since I have not been to Lush in a while to get my usual facial products. After over 2 hours of being at IMMERSE we went to Wolf Gang Puck's restaurant for some food feeling more relaxed then ever. read more

I've been to Immerse Spa on a few special occasions for pedicures, massage, and facials. It's expensive if you're paying upfront, however more affordable if you're you have express comps to offset the costs. They add an automatic 20% gratuity to your already overpriced service, so you do the math. And the price is not comparable to the service you receive. If you want a good massage, you're better off getting one at a real massage place where that's the bread of butter of their business. Here, the inflated prices are paying for the overhead, seriously. The hot tub, the ambiance, their sparking pool and the all-day access is what you're paying for because you're not going to get any extensive deep tissue work from the massage or real pore extractions in a facial here. An afternoon here is better than gambling, though, so hey. The best massage I've received here was from a therapist named Aaron, very good; a true sports massage with stretching and deeper body work. The others have been more aromatherpeutic light caresses to the body. For a spa, it's beautiful, but there are room for improvements, I think, considering the high costs they charge. The steam room seems to fail at its job at properly steaming up (and veer towards funky, in terms of smell). And I'm not a fan of the weekend/weekday price differential. Service is great though, very professional staff here. read more

This was my 4th visit to this spa. My girlfriend and I went here recently for what we were hoping would be a relaxing and rejuvinating experience. Two days before our appointments I received a phone call informing me that the massages would be moved from the treatment rooms to a hotel room on the 4th floor in the middle of the hotel. Oddity No. 1. I decided to cancel the massages and keep the facials however I should have just cancelled the whole day. When we arrived, we were greated and taken to the locker rooms for changing. We walked through a hallway maze of construction equipment cases, building materials, and trades workers. Oddity No. 2. We decided we would try to wash away the bad first impression by drifiting off in the hot tub. There was so much film/scum surrounding the edge of the tub that I felt I would come out with some infection verse a relaxed look on the situation. Oddity No. 3. Then we proceeded to go to the pool to soak...it's salt water. Maybe it would help pull my toxic attitude about the spa out. Nope. The water was so cold that I didn't make it three steps into the pool. Oddity No. 4. I could go on and on about the services, outdated and unclean spaces, horrible food, the poor attitude we received upon leaving, and ultimately the lack of attention to detail but I won't waste you time. There were over a dozen "oddities" that made this a waste of a day and money. I'm truly disappointed in where this spa is today and hope the management realizes the short comings. This was once a really nice spa to spend the day at, I wonder when things started to decline. Either way, I definitely won't be back unless I get a phone call from a supervior explaining why the spa is being operated as it is today and what they are doing to correct those problems. read more

Horrible experience! I just spent $156 for a 50 minute massage that was about 30 minutes maximum. When I went to the desk to let them know I actually waited there longer than I was on the massage table. Then the spa director talked to my masseuse Elissa who LIED and said I was on the phone. My phone records will show this is a blatant untruth. I should have known to leave when I saw a homeless man washing his face in the pool. Left there more stressed than when I came. Ridiculous and a waste of money. 50 minute massage and only got 35 minutes and I paid $156. When I told them that I did not receive my full massage, the masseuse claimed I was on the phone and it was a complete lie! This is MGM. Horrible customer service and my friend had the same issue. We went here yesterday for a Mother's Day spa getaway. The spa was absolutely gorgeous and the treatment was wonderful. The saltwater pool is a very nice touch and they had a private area set up just for our group. The only thing that would make this five stars is if they served champagne upon arrival. For a $200 facial, yes $200 is correct, I think champagne is in order right when you get in the door. We ordered wine for our group and it took an hour to be delivered. For this reason, I won't be back to the spa. My local spa has champagne in my hand within five minutes of arrival. read more

This was the absolute worst experience I ever had. On February 22nd I had a gift card as a gift that I wanted to use for the detox massage. I drove 3 hours away after confirming my reservations 3 days in advance knowing the cancelation policy. The only opening the spa had was 3pm so I decided to add a facial at noon. I was early and properly greeted. After exploring the area and waiting I was guided to next floor. Jessica my facial therapist was not urgent in arriving at 12:07 she acknowledge me and stated she'd be with me shortly -my appointment was at noon) after allowing me to get comfortable she returned to talk about music stations for another 10 minutes. She finally decided on the best of love jams from the 90s. Completely not appropriate for a relaxing facial. She talked the ENTIRE time, about food, clients, and a little about bikini waxing. This was $175 worst facial I ever had. Lastly and most importantly the hostess called my cell phone at 220 pm to CANCEL my massage appointment. I asked if I could come to the front desk and speak with the manager. Nicole Cascioli came to the desk and stated I would be reimbursed for the massage I already paid for. After incorrectly reimbursing the credit card,(they did not adjust the gratuity from the massage they had cancelled!) I had to wait another 20 minutes to get this fixed. I was nearly in tears as to they way this day already happening. It was suppose to be relaxing, and it was far from it. I informed Nicole of your cancellation policy of full payment if not advised by 24 hours and I asked what or how she would reimburse me for their cancellation. She stared at me blank for about a minute and responded "I can offer you a 50 min relaxation massage complimentary at 430pm today" I already had been at the spa for 4 hours and would have to wait another 1.5 hours for a massage that I did not want but couldn't have the one I booked and paid for?!!! Seriously!!! I reiterated that would not work and my unsatisfactory experience was getting worse and she walked away with "I'm sorry this is out of my control" I am writing this hoping that someone in your casino's management/ hospitality department will acknowledge my experience and attempt to make it right as I will not be returning to the Immerse spa again. I will add that I did attempt one last time to contact Nicole at 3134651731. To only be told I could leave a voicemail read more

I got a massage here for the very first time today. I must say that I wasn't as impressed with the spa like I thought I would be. You go in through the hotel and you get on the elevator to take you to the spa. Once you're up there and checked in someone come and get you and take you to another elevator to go down to where you will be serviced. There is also a pool down there and a jacuzzi & sauna in both the men and women locker room. Once in the locker room an attendant will show you around. Since I am a woman my attendant in the women's locker room of course was a woman and she was very nice and helpful. The attendant come and get you when it's time to get your massage. I had the Golden Luster, which is a scrub, a wrap, & a massage. My masseuse was Jamel (I hope I spelled that right) and he is AMAZING!!! Pros: 1) My massage was wonderful and my skin felt amazing when it was all over 2) Valet is free ( But don't forget to tip, it's polite) 3) The spa is very clean and will kept Con: 1) For what you're paying you would think they offer more complimentary options while you are waiting for your service instead of just water and ice tea. For instance Motor City spa (D- tour) offer water, a variety of different tea, light snacks, and have a tv you can enjoy if you don't want to be in the jacuzzi or saunas. 2) When the attendant moved me to the room where I waited to receive my massage, a man was in there waiting to receive his massage as well. Now normally most spas keep men and woman clients separated and at that very moment I appreciated them for doing that. The man sat across from me in just his robe with his legs open. So yeah I got a glimpse of his stuff and I wasn't happy about that at all. 3) The music they played while I was getting my massage was anything but relaxing. Some moments I felt I was watching a movie and other moments I felt like I was in the hotel lobby/ elevator. 4) You have to pay 20% gratuity. Now I'm all for tipping, but I do feel like you shouldn't be forced to tip 20% if you don't love your service 100%. I tipped a little over the 20% because my service as awesome, but what if it was terrible and my masseuse was rude? He would still get a nice tip for doing a terrible job. Luckily for me that wasn't the case 5) The showers were very cold. After my scrub and wrap I had to take a shower to receive my massage. After trying three different showers I finally found one that got a little warm. After my massage I went back to take another shower and it was much better after the lady told me to press the little red button for the hot water. Overall my chances of going back are very slim. I would go back for another golden luster but not for anything else. If Motor City start offering packages like that (a scrub, wrap, and massage package) I would never go to MGM again, sorry but that's the truth. read more

This place is only alright. Came here for a couples massage for my birthday. While I enjoy the experience of putting on robes and slippers I wouldn't come back here again. The sauna smelled weird (mold like) and was soaking wet because they use tile so there are puddles everywhere. The pool area was cold along with the water in the pool. But these are all minor things. I have read in previous reviews that people's time was cut short so I decided to set a timer when I went. Sure enough! The massage was only 40 minutes long which makes it a big deal considering we spent about $250 for a 50 minute massage. I brought this up to the attention of the woman at the front desk and she wasn't very helpful she said if I write my name and number down the manager will call me back...that never happened. That following weekend I went to a place in ferndale I usually go to and they are amazing and I paid only $65 for a FULL hour massage and they did a much better job. Take your money elsewhere where they actually care about their customers. read more

The salt water pool was just fabulous. Enjoyed the 80 min relaxation massage. I love it here!

I love this spa! The services are Amazing, I love. The pool and Jacuzzi too, you also have access to the fitness center when you go for a spa services . I highly recommend you get there early so that you can enjoy the amenities. I usually get an 80 min sport massage with Jamel and a bright facial with Jessica. They do a phenomenal job. I try to get there as. Much as. I can despite my busy work schedule. The staff there is fantastic and the hours work for me. Friday is a great time to go too its not a crazy as Saturday. while you are there you can also order room service by the pool. I highly recommend this spa. Don't forget to bring a bathing suit so that you can enjoy the pool and jacuzzi ! The price is definitely worth it. read more

I had a massage there on Sunday, December 10. I had the 50 minute sports massage which is a deep tissue massage. My massage was ok certainly not worth the price that was charged. I paid $150.00 for my massage before the 20% mandatory tip. I felt that it was odd that you paid for your services ahead of time and I feel that it is inappropriate for you to have to tip before your services. I do routinely tip 20% however I feel that you should be able to rate your service before tipping. My masseuse did an ok job, but did not use enough pressure for me. We stay at MGM once a month and I will probably not return for any services there. I felt that it was a very cold and uninviting environment. The pool area is very nice but I did not use it. I also agree with other reviewers that the staff is very pretentious especially for the price you are paying. read more

I was looking for a place to celebrate my cousins 30th birthday. She wanted a spa experience and Immerse spa definitely brought it! It is a jewel in the rough (as is the MGM grand). We both had massages and had very professional and enjoyable experiences. The therapist were great (I had Shawn- I recommend him!). The amenities were very clean and nicely done. The hot tub and pool were beautiful and the Rainfall showers were amazing! I could've spent all day there- and they will let you! I have been to several spas...And I definitely recommend this one! I will be back and will bring friends! read more

I arranged for a spa manicure and pedicure. The service was as expected and the staff attentive. What I really like is the full use of the facility on top of the spa treatments. i.e. I have been at Spa Nordstrom, and while the service is excellent, you don't have the full shower, hot tub, pool, fitness area etc.. at your disposal. When you book your appointment, you have full use for the entire day. I see in some of the comments that some people ran into children at the pool. This is a part of the MGM Grand hotel, so chances are, there may be kids staying in the hotel and using the facility, but that didn't bother my stay at all. read more

Was one of my go to get away spas but it changed over the years I been going here. The customer service is still there but the environment has changed a lot. I booked a spa experience and when I showed up they were over booked (not sure how that happens when you book in advanced with a credit card on file that says you'll be charged full if you show up or not) at first they said they were over booked but could offer me a 30 mins back massage and I said ok sure (since I could not cancel + rsvp was made A week in advanced) When I was getting my massage the gentleman working on me stated he was able to give me my full hr so I can relax now and enjoy. Turned out he ended up stopping my section within 30mins (15 mins) and said he wasn't able to complete the massage because his 5 o'clock was here. It was really disappointing. The good thing is the supervisor on hand did comp my 15 min massage for the day. But the hassle of driving 1 Hr out of my way for a 15 min message was not worth all the time and energy. They should of just cancelled my massaged over all so I didn't waste my time. read more

Let me start by saying, I have been to many day spas in the past, including Immerse and dont often write reviews (good or bad). I decided to plan a pampering girls spa day to help relax and reconnect. To say we were thoroughly disappointed with our experience is an understatement. We decided to spend the day by the pool after our treatments and order food and drinks. There was not a staff member to be found to assist us or offer guidance, so we were left alone for the most part, even though we were the only ones in the pool area . When we figured out how to order the food and it came out, it was an absolute joke. The cheese and fruit tray (to be shared) had one (1) actual strawberry cut up, some cubed Cracker Barrell and swiss. It wasnt even enough for one person. The pizza looked like a pita bread with tomato sauce on it and was basically cardboard. Service was terrible, food was terrible and the whole experience was extremely overpriced and disappointing. I expect to get what I pay for but that wasn't the case here. I would recommend going to another spa in the area if you're looking for an actual spa experience where the customer is treated properly. Pool water was also very cold.. it's as if they were trying to ruin the spa go-er's experience from every angle!? Having said that, the massage therapists were pleasant for the most part (trying to see the glass half full here ). It's sad because this could and should be a great place to go if anyone cared to do their job properly #notthathard read more

I am giving it 3 starts because I think their services are still quality. However, I was there when the spa first opened and it was clean, quiet, and lovely. I was there in December of 2011 and it wasn't as clean as I remembered it, the pool area was loud with the sound of kids, and the jacuzzi was dirty. I was sad because it really was a Vegas quality spa for a while. I hope MGM finds a way to clean it up a little. read more

It has been WEEKS and I have not heard back from the spa coordinator to plan a spa day for about 7 women. I was told I would receive and email or phone call, there have been no attempts to reach out. I cannot imagine what would take so long to follow up???? read more

I love elegant and relaxing Spas and have been fortunate over the years to be able to frequent them quite often, both locally and while traveling. A friend who had stayed at the hotel with her spouse for a weekend and visited the spa had raved about it. She planned a girls getaway for a party of 4, for a Tuesday. We all scheduled time off from work. Our appointment was at 9 am. Our plan was to have a full day of spa services, have lunch and cocktails and enjoy the other spa amenties. When we arrived we were all told that we would have to pay for all of our services in advance but that we could not pay for lunch in advance because that was a different department and they take separate payment. There were other patrons in front of us so that process took about 35 minutes just to pay for our service in advance which put us behind schedule. Finally we were taken to the lounge to change into our robes. Two of us were started with our services while I waited for a half hour in a dark waiting room by myself. Finally someone came to tell me someone did not show up for work so they were having another service provider assist me. I was anticipating getting a facial and eyebrow arch followed by a body salt glow. Since someone did not come to work the same person gave me all three treatments together. Instead of getting a break i was on that table so long i needed to use the restroom but could not get up. This made that experience not relaxing at all and the results of the services were subpar compared to other spas. By the time I finished my friends were already having lunch. We had our credit cards in our robes and incredibly had to pay for our food and drinks in advance of them bringing us anything. We wondered...what if we wanted to order another glass of champaign or food? We would have to keep doing multiple transactions. I ordered my drink and meal but before it came someone told me I need to leave right now for my next service or I would not be serviced. Since it was the spas fault that the timing was wrong I complained. They called in a manager. After another 1/2 hour of rangling they found someone to service me. At the end of the day management offered a free service for us to come back again so they could give us the type of service that they claim was more the norm. I was reluctant to return even though the service was free, but my husband finally convinced me. I called to make an appointment and told them I was using a complementary service from management they confirmed this. Incredibly when I arrived at my appointment the first thing I was asked was for payment in full in advance. I reminded them that the manager had the free service on my file. I was told they had no record of that. After another half hour of them getting a manager who called another manager, they escorted me back for my service. This time they did not even bother to take me to the lounge to get changed. I was taken to get my nail services in street clothes. The manicurist asked me why I did not have on a robe and then just shook her head. I have never had a spa and never had a restaurant other than fast food require payment in advamce. I have never had such poor service at a spa. I was so disappointed. Although this is an absolutely beautiful facility, I cringe every time I think of the place. I will not go there again. Mgm grand has some elegant venues such as Wolfgang Puck Steak, however, when it comes to spa services I do not recommend this place to savvy spa clientele. read more

I 1st visited this spa shortly after they opened. It was very nice. I visited today and the quality of the spa has sadly declined. Starting with the appointment, the staff that answered the phone kept putting me on hold for someone else to answer all of my questions about services. The reception area was clean but not very inviting and they are having a hard time containing the smoke from coming in from the casino. I waited a little longer than I would have liked for a spa attendant to escort me to the spa area. Once there it was a little chaotic partially due to a few guest who were obviously not familiar with spa etiquette and were a little loud and rowdy. I specified that I wanted a body scrub done by an esthetician and NOT a massage therapist but I got one anyway and as expected she was massaging on my scrub. I also specified that i wanted the Vichy shower which they gave me however the therapist had never been trained on how to use it. She was really sweet and wanted to make my experience great so I talked her through it and she did great! (Lisa) The massage was ok but her customer service made up for everything else. I would not go back again of my own recognizes however if you are not a spa goer and don't know any better Immerse is the spa for you. They don't seem to get the point of a spa atmosphere but they really seem to be doing the best they know how to do or was trained to do. Really, what more can you ask for. I hope management will step up and train the staff, I think they have great potential. Everyone was very nice and accommodating to their ability. read more

The MGM Grand is rated a 4.5 star hotel. That being said, the spa itself, should rate an 8 out of 5! What an amazing experience. Through the hustle and bustle of enjoying Detroit scenes, attractions, and of course, gambling, we paused for a couple's massage to start our Sunday. It is, so far, the highlight of our stay. The staff, the facility, and the service is absolutely fabulous. We highly recommend all visitors take a walk to the serene spa area whether to get a treatment or just relax in the most calming atmosphere in Detroit. It is easy to escape daily life at the Immerse Spa. read more
