My massage was similarly lacking; my therapist kept rubbing in the same direction on my back and didn't really address any of my knots. In the past, the staff seemed to have a better intuition about where to focus, but today felt quite different. This is even with masseuses I've used many times - I'm guessing the massage establishments just train them that way. However, Karalyn combines massage with PT, really working problem areas and going hard at it. The result - you get the therapeutic benefits of the massage and the science of PT, which drives rapid recovery where you really need it. As only a rare and excellent massage can deliver, I ended light-headed and felt like jelly. She asked if it was supposed to split for two therapists. I said yes she then said something to her coworkers and acted like it was not enough until a coworker said something back. In my opinion, tipping should always be OPTIONAL but I will always tip for services knowing it is optional. Also here's the math: the total was $254 and I tipped $50 which is ~20%. I did the math in my head so I knew I maybe short with some change. When I do the calculation on a calculator it should've been $50.80. Im like but Im pregnant, I can't lay on my back!! I was not happy so I tipped her low. She said this was a $95 massage and I said you don't know how to massage a pregnant woman. She just looked at me like she was not convinced. Then she followed me all the way to my car to get more tip. If you care about your tip money, please deliver good service. If you don't provide prenatal massage be honest and let your customer know! Don't expect to be tipped if you don't know the basics of massage.

However, after 30 min. my masseuse left after conversing loudly in Mandarin with a coworker through the door and then had a conversation with a loud client while the room door was left ajar. She came back only to tell me that I was done. In addition to not receiving a full $20 refund (difference in fee for 30 vs. 60 min. massage) my masseuse complained that my tip was also reduced and asked for more money, which I gave her. It felt like a shakedown which was insult to injury after such poor service. Humiliating and not at all relaxing. If you are seeking a relaxing massage I suggest making the effort to find any one of literally hundreds of other local massage businesses that are less busy and offer better customer service.
