None of the big box home supplies or small hardware stores carried proper base coat, gauging, or finish plasters. They all recommended that I use Spackle or joint compound, which will not adhere to the existing lath, shrink, crack, and fail completely in the near future. Tony at Peoples knew exactly how plaster walls worked, understood that I wanted to repair them correctly, and had everything I needed in stock. I knew which scratch/base coat plaster I wanted, but wasn't sure which finish plaster I would need. Tony knew exactly what would work best and made sure I understood how to mix it. I think some of the negative reviews here are a misunderstanding about what this business is. It is a building supply yard, not a hardware store. They carry a lot of odds and ends that you might find at a hardware store, but I'm guessing a good 80% of their sales are raw building materials going to commercial builders.

But she definitely made what I thought was gonna be a headache a stress free educational experience for this consumer. My handle came off and, in our attempt to replace the screw--it was dropped and lost. Upon arrival, I was told by Tina, Hardware the store did NOT carry this handle. She referred me to Millwork's. "Lil John" from Lumber without any hesitation he and Tina tried to locate a screw to fit my door handle. After multiple failed attempts--they suggested that I find the door model number to try and locate the handle. Upon my return, I met Sarena (Millworks) and Theresa (Pro Desk); these ladies went well "above and beyond" searching on-line to find the replacement door handle. They were able to find the part on-line. I want to formally commend these four (4) employees for their "professionalism" and "willingness to assist" me. Based on the customer service I received I will be returning to the Capital Heights, MD store. JOB WELL DONE!
