Really disappointing experience, especially with scheduling. I was left on hold for 25 min after being told it would be a "brief hold". Lady at front forgot to check me in so I sat there for 20 minutes waiting and was late to work. Scheduling is a nightmare every time. The billing staff also seemed checked out and unhelpful. They would deliberately schedule your appointment days AFTER your discount package expires, without effectively communicating about the expiration date after you iterate it several times with the front desk. We used this office for years and was decent. However, over the last 18 months, it has been awful. I showed up for appointments twice and the doctor was not in the office that day even though I had reminders on my phone to show up. They messed up billing on an expensive dental procedure. After dozens of phone calls and many, many hours, they finally issued the appropriate refund and said the bill was handled. However, this was after many messages that were not returned and going through a ton of staff. Fast forward 8 months...they send out a bill for over a thousand dollars and are now saying it is not handled. Run as fast as you can! read more

I have been going back and forth to Imagecare Dental Care since the 90's. They were reliable and close to the house, and typically I had positive experiences. Due to a series of events over the last year with their scheduling and staffing issues, I am done. I used their pre-paid insurance for a year's visit. My initial 6-month check-up was cancelled less than 24 hours before my appointment because no hygienist was available. The soonest they could get me in was three months for cleaning, with the promise of being put on a wait list. Things happen; I get it. My non-wait list dental appointment finally arrived. I got called two and a half hours before my appointment to be told that they did not have a hygienist for me and that I would need to reschedule again. If I could not take the one cancellation appointment in a week (I couldn't), then the soonest they can get me in is September. My last appointment was in fall 2024. I explained my situation to the Image Care person of multiple cancellations and was promised the wait list again. Guess who would have been charged if I cancelled last minute like that. On top of it, I received pages of documents texted to me 24 hours before my appointment to fill out, with the added incentive that if it was not taken care of before the appointment, it would be cancelled. I am in healthcare, so this was my 30-minute lunch break activity. Their time management issues should not be the patient's problem. UPDATE - The office manager called me and worked with me to ensure I have an appointment with a tenured permanent dentist!! Happy to report the issue below was resolved. I really love Dr. Imperial but unfortunately she is on maternity leave. Last time I had an issue when she was unable to see me the dentist they sent me to caused much undue pain and failed trying to set/make a crown it was a complete failure. Dr. Imperial stepped in and fixed it. I called last week to try and get in to see Dr. Imperial for a chipped tooth and after waiting for multiple business days with no return call the office just called to notify me I would have to see a temp dentist. I have been going to the office for over 2 decades and the office staff refused to let me see anyone but the temp. even after explaining my concern. The office staff was unconcerned and clearly did not care at all. Now I get to go and search for a new dentist as I do not want another temp dentist to cause issue with my teeth. Very sad to leave after all this time but the office staff literally blocked any type of resolution from happening. read more

I don't know whats going on the last 2 years or so but i have been a patient since 2007 and i have never seen this lack of professionalism in my life! It started when i lost my insurance and purchased their office insurance. Don't do it! They have been rude and to the point of incompetent. Now my husband needs his denture repaired for a fourth time in 5 years mind you! Dr thompson was the dentist that did the originals. The tech never touched him for exam or anything since he brought them in a container but charged him for examine and X-ray! Then we tried to call them since they didn't bother to call us to pick it up and they didn't answer the phone for over a hour! Got in car a drove up there and the receptionist is on hold not taking any calls! We sat there and called her and nope! She finally hung up when she went to get someone to help us only to he told the denture was there but dr thompson was off on Fridays and he needed to approve something! What!!!! So i guess my husband can wait til Monday to eat something! This has been going on since Wednesday! It looks like we are going to have to look for another dentist after 18 years. This office cant even communicate properly and certainly are billing inappropriately. What happened, they were so wonderful when i chose them as our dentist. read more

But this time it was the last straw showed up and said my insurance is gonna cover for a couple more days. I drove from Galveston. TLDR: I always had mixed feelings about going here, but after a very bad visit today I won't be going back. I've gone to Dr. Thompson's office for years, always for routine cleanings. My dealings with Dr. Thompson himself were thankfully limited, and I say "thankfully" only in the sense that I didn't have any serious problems needing his attention. When he did come by after each cleaning, he was always very nice, and each time, I left with a positive opinion of him . . . until today. So if I liked Dr. Thompson before today, why the mixed feelings about going there? Because I rarely ever had the same hygienist cleaning my teeth more than once, and the quality seemed to vary. A lot. Some cleanings were practically painless, while others were pretty rough, and I'm sure it had a lot more to do with the particular hygienist I got than the condition of my teeth and gums. Today's cleaning was one of the more unpleasant ones. Maybe even the most unpleasant ever, but it's hard to rank a thing that occurs over such a long period. Anyway, towards the end of the cleaning, the hygienist talked about gingivitis and suggested that I start coming in more than once every six months, but I politely declined and said I prefer to keep going in twice a year. When she was done with the cleaning, the hygienist called Dr. Thompson in, and he essentially repeated what she had said, being as polite as he always had been, so I was surprised at what came next. I asked him if my gums had gotten worse since my last visit, and he ignored the question and talked more about gingivitis. Since he hadn't answered my question, I waited for him to finish talking and then asked again (still being polite) if my gums had gotten worse. This time, he answered and said that they had gotten a little worse. I asked how they determine when gums have gotten worse, and he explained. I summarized what he'd said and asked him if that was correct, and he essentially said it was. Again, all of the above had been very polite on both sides, at least in my opinion, so I was a bit surprised when Dr. Thompson then added, "We're not here to be combative; we're just trying to do what's best for you." At that point, I think I just stared at him because I was surprised by his implied accusation that I was being combative. He obviously recognized my surprise because he then said, "It seems like you don't believe us about the gum problem." I responded, "I just asked a couple of questions. Is that okay?" to which he said, "Sure," but clearly it wasn't really okay. I don't believe I ever was combative or implied that they were lying, but even if I had been guilty of those things, his attempts to "call me out" don't seem very professional. What I know for sure is that I've never before had a conversation like that one with a dentist or any other kind of doctor in my entire life. At that point, I decided I wasn't going back, but that wasn't quite the end. When I went to check out, I was informed they would be charging me extra for a "gingivitis cleaning," which was news to me up until that point. I pointed out that I hadn't been told there would be an extra charge before the work was done but said that I would pay whatever they felt I owed, though the lady nicely insisted on not charging me since I hadn't been told in advance. So, I ultimately didn't have to pay the upcharge, but it did bother me that there was one in the first place without my being told in advance. I don't know; maybe Dr. Thompson was just having a bad day. Or maybe he resented my not taking the more-than-twice-a-year advice. But the bottom line is that the hygienist "lottery" had me already on the fence, and today's strange experience was enough to push me off. Will you have a good experience if you go here? Maybe. I had traditional braces a long time ago, never wore my retainers so my teeth shifted back over time. Dr.Imperial and her amazing team helped me get back on track with my dental care. I had filings done and went through invisalign, Dr.Imperial and her assistant did a great job at explaining what i needed, why i needed it, and made sure i was comfortable throughout my care. Angel does my cleanings, he's very gentle and thorough. Everyone that I've come in contact with has been very helpful, caring, and thorough. 10/10 would recommend. read more

The office manager at this location is the worst! They schedule appointments and if she decides they aren't busy enough, they just close their doors without notice. On three different occasions I took off work for my appointment and when I got there they were closed. The previous dentist, Dr. Chu I believe, would do everything to make it right but the current dentist, Dr. Appian, doesn't care how the patients are treated by this lady and has no time to hear what the patients have to say. My husband and I went to Imagecare Dental for the first nine years of living in North Dallas. The dental professionals has always been great. But unfortunately, the last year has been a horrible experience with the billing side of the office. The billing staff is unexperienced and is not able to process the dental claims correctly. We have lost many hours in advocating for proper claim submissions due to their unqualified billing staff. This should not be the responsibility of the customer, but the billing office. Have an issue with a missing crown and severely damaged tooth. From another Dentist in Las Vegas. Scheduled an exam and x-ray. Initial diagnosis requires tooth to be extracted and bone grafts etc for future implant. Scheduled initial visit for this, but called to cancel and request a more cost conscious alternative as I didn't have $750 out of pocket for initial procedure. I have dental ins. The assistant I talked with seemed irritated that I would cancel, but if I don't have that kind of money what do you do? This was before Thanksgiving and the office hasn't bothered to even call me back, much less offer any alternative. I guess if you aren't flush with cash they don't want to deal with you?? I would do my research before coming here and, if you do, get several opinions first. I have spent $20K dollars here for implant supported dentures only to be very very disappointed by the service. I had to have two implants placed 15 months ago and they have still have not been seated to my denture. At the same time they placed these two implants they kept my bottom denture to fix a tooth while I was waiting for parts to seat the implants and, they forgot they had them and about the parts for a year. I had to call them and then was told my parts were there and got there for my appt and no, the parts were not there. I have been calling for the last several months and can't even get a returned call.....do your research first! read more

This place is run by a bunch of rip off artists. I went here and couldn't believe how much they were charging me. All they did was try to upsell me. From the second you walk in they try to sell you their products, from tooth brushes to mouth wash or anything they can possibly unload on you. What really upset me and motivated me to write this review is that I finally realized how dishonest this place was and chose to go to another dentist. I kindly asked these guys for my dental records because my new dentist requested them. To my shock and surprise Imagecare wouldn't give me my own records unless I paid them more money for my records even though they already charged me many hundreds of dollars! Wow talk about money hungry dentists that don't care about their patients and only care about their own pocket book. FYI, I barely got to see a dentist! 99% of the work was done by dental assistants and dentist only sees you for a few minutes, even for a crown! I am sorry I ever went to this place. read more

Dr Thompson told me he would give me a great smile and did the opposite! I suffered pain in the chair, every single crown he placed was mis seated which left me in severe pain for almost a year without him fixing his errors, a root canal he did was poor which left me in pain for almost a year, his office LOST my mold, Dr Thompson was unable to complete my upper mouth crowns at all leaving me in temporaries for almost a year -in pain. I requested pain meds and was denied, I was OVERCHARGED thousands and it took months to get the refund, the coordinator did not return calls or assist with this debacle, Dr Thompson left me with a full mouth of pain for almost a year and I finally had to see another dentist to CORRECT every single tooth he worked on - re do the root canal properly and get me out of pain! I could not use my insurance due to benefits used with him so was forced to pay a gross service amount. When I requested a refund for my out of pocket to him it was denied! Negligent work! A year of pain and being ignored then no refund. Absolutely horrifically catastrophic for me ! read more

I wish I could say my experience with them was great but that would not be true. After repeatedly being told a chipped filling "might fall out" I finally agreed to let them do a crown on my tooth. It turned out the filling was really deep - and probably would never have fallen out. ]Unfortunately, while doing the work, the technician cracked the tooth down to the root. When the final crown was placed I began having pain. I went back to the dentist the following week and was told-" We just did a lot of work on that tooth and it takes a while to settle down". 6 months later I was still having pain. I went to another dentist who confirmed the root was damaged. I also had an infection in the root due to the crack - and will now lose the tooth. If only I had listened to my gut and not fixed what wasn't broken. They wore me down over several visits by suggesting the crown. If someone tries to sell you on services and you are not sure - get a second opinion. I wish I had. read more

While the dental services may be good here - the ethics they follow for their employees is absolutely awful. This practice furloughed their employees in March / April and then decided to terminate the majority of the employees that you loved throughout the years. Why is this unethical? Because they chose to not call any of these employees; instead tell others that they had either "retired" or "quit". Stronger Leaders have the courage to have tough conversations. Making the decision to terminate furloughed employees, without telling them, and then lying to your current staff about it, is unethical, unprofessional and disrespectful. You may be getting good treatment and service here - but strongly consider your next appointment knowing the ethics and morals of the Managers that work there and the families they've put into financial turmoil due to their negligence. read more

I would not recommend at all. You will spend way more money than it is worth here, I have spent over $20K. I have implant supported dentures and, I have had to sit in the chair and actually pull out my own lower implant due to the incompetence of an assistant putting in the wrong part and causing the snap to fail, had to pull the implant out, myself. I had this implant finally replaced along with another bottom one in Dec of 2019 and these two implants have still not been connected to my lower denture 19 months later. They also sent my lower denture to have a tooth fixed in Dec of 2019 and I finally got it back Oct 2020, 10 months later. They have yet to take responsibility for the fact that Dr Thompson forgot they had my denture and that he doesn't even remember where I am in my treatment or what parts he was waiting for. Hell, they still don't have the parts, they ordered the wrong one! I was sent an email from the new practice admin, Aniket Solanki on 6/7/21(Mon) after requesting my records & letting them know I was filing a complaint. I quote her, "I need to review with Dr Thompson and make sure we have everything on hand. I can most likely get you in on Thurs or first of next week, want to make sure everything is here & on hand. Not sure what happened before prior to myself joining the team, however I will get you taken care of" I'll tell you what happened, you also dropped the ball & are fitting right in, Hwang must have helped train you been another month and ghosted again! You will spend a bunch of money and be left with unfinished dental work, upset because you went here and, eating on implants and your gums. I really did not want to give one star! read more

I had been a client for a few years & on last 2 visits they said I needed deep cleaning due to periodontal disease. I'm in my 30's & only a couple years ago I got my first cavity in my life which was on one of my wisdom teeth. I've been blessed with good dental genes so periodontal disease really shocked me. I always got the feeling that they were trying to do unnecessary work on me. I decided to change dentists & started going to Westgrove Dental. They confirmed I did not have periodontal disease on my last 2 cleanings which once you have it, it doesn't just go away. Stay away from Dr. Norwood! Some of the staff is unprofessional & lacked proper hygiene. I had a cavity fill & the idiot shaved off a lot of my tooth and now today almost a month 1/2 after my fill my tooth is still excessively sensitive. I should want to go back & have them fix their error but after my bad experience I don't want them touching another tooth in my mouth! The manager tried to sell me a story about each tooth being different after I shared I've never had issues with fillings in the past (not done by this office or dentist by the way). UPDATE: If only things could get worse with Imagecare Dental, they did today. The doctor (also the owner, Dr. Thompson) attempted to make things better from my last visit (with Jennifer Rand, which was terrible) by looking into my root canal issue and giving me a free CT scan to see if I needed a root canal (which I did). My appointment for the root canal was today. The doctor had my complete medical history, including a record that I take a particular medication that would render their "conscious sedation" mediation completely useless. I get severe dental anxiety and have never had a root canal before, so I needed to be asleep for the procedure. Regardless of my tolerance for this medication, I was prescribed the "conscious sedation" medication that did not work at all in reducing my anxiety. They prescribed my 3 pills that I brought to the office, but I was only given 2 (probably because the doctor did not check my electronic medical record and notice that my tolerance for the medication was high). When I asked for the 3rd, the doctor refused. I was given minimal nitrous and was so anxious that I could not stop crying. The doctor kept coming in asking, "are we ready yet?", to which the answer was always no. I was sedated in no way; in fact, I could easily drive or work. I refused to have a root canal under those conditions, as the doctor promised that I would not remember the procedure (or care that my teeth were being drilled) during the consultation. Today, the nurse kept telling me that she could numb me with gel, but that doesn't help resolve my fear of needles. Her approach was not very calming and I wasn't clear about how gel would help reduce my panic attack. The doctor finally realized that the root canal was not going to happen, and I was taken to another room and offered intravenous sedation by an anesthesiologist at the cost of $1,200. When I said that this was absolutely out of my price range, the scheduler "went to the back" (like a used car dealer) and said that she may be able to find a cheaper anesthesiologist to do the procedure and told me that she would call me the next day. I asked for a refund (for the root canal that I didn't receive) and left. I will NEVER return - I have learned my lesson. My husband took the entire day off to provide transportation for the 2.5 hours that this procedure would take (as they told me that I wouldn't be able to drive under the influence of their medication that ended up being useless), and I lost half of a day of work because of this screw up. There is no point in a doctor asking about medications that a patient is taking if that information is never used in the future in a patient's treatment plan. A higher dose of the medication would have completely resolved this problem. Because Dr. Thompson and/or the tech did not pay attention to my medical history, this "procedure" resulted in a major waste of time, money and energy (not considering the stress and anxiety that I associated with the procedure that never happened). In summary, my initial 2 star rating just went down to 1 star, because EVEN MORE of my time (and my husband's time) was wasted by Imagecare. read more

I had 2 different dentists who worked with me - one was good, the other ok. The same thing with the 2 hygenists I met with. My problem is with the numerous people at the front desk. 99.99999% of the time you call in, you end up in voicemail and then do NOT get the courtesy of a return call. Come to think of it, when I shared with the last female I spoke with that I was very unhappy with their lack of customer concern, I asked her to please have one of the business owners call me. Guess what....still no call...?? I have never before worked with a dental office that has so many office personnel and so little concern for follow-up. I wonder if the business owners have a clue the business they are missing out on. I had some friends looking for a dentist, and since they live in Plano, it would have been a convenient location. I have been going here since 2008. I have had molars pulled, caps, crowns, and numerous fillings. All of their tech's are good, a couple are outstanding. Michelle did a fabulous job on me today! She caught that I had some sensitivity along my upper gum line, but instead of just apologizing and trying to hurry, she gave me some numbing gel to keep it comfortable for me. But she did not just put it on the upper right side, she was proactive and did the entire top of my gums. This was GREATLY appreciated when she started on my upper left side. Even with the gel, she hit a spot that zinged me pretty good. Without the gel I might have shot up off the chair! When we were finishing, as she was polishing my teeth, the vibrations against my lips were driving me a little nuts. Again, without being asked, she picked up on this and used her fingers to pull back my lips to keep it from aggravating me any more. It is the little things which make all the difference. it makes an 8 or 9 visit turn into a 10. Michelle is part of the reason why I keep coming back to ImageCare, even after I have lived in Frisco, Richardson, Carrolltoon, Garland and now Coppell. It may not be the cheapest, which is the only drawback. But when it comes to my teeth, I will always be willing to spend a little more. I know with all the changes in the health care system Lord only knows what they are paid by insurance companies after the fact. And their office managers have always been professional, polite, and kind even on a few times where I may have gotten upset at billing questions.
