I wanted to take the time to share my gratitude towards Ilkb Aurora. This is absolutely not an ordinary gym. The staff feels like friends/ family, the workouts are always challenging, and the members are the most accepting and welcoming group of people. Here you are supported not only by the staff but also the members to reach your goals. There is not a day that I don't leave drenched in sweat and with a huge smile on my face. If you don't want to get bored, you want to look and feel better, and need some stress relief, this is the gym for you! read more

Be careful with what you sign. While some of the staff are nice, there is little honesty. The details are in the contract so read all the fine print. Don't expect a refund and realize it is very difficult and costly to get out of a membership. This place draws you in on the 6 Week Challenge but it is all a money scam. The staff push the membership instead and offer you a flash drive with meal suggestions which they consider the nutritional offering. Maybe if you hesitate enough, they may even throw in a pair of gloves. But you pay for them too because you can't easily get your membership cancelled. The staff "forget" to cancel your membership or there is a paperwork error only to realize you are continuously being charged. I had to call my credit card company and tell them to block this charge in order to get it to stop. This was only after being charged an additional $200 "early cancellation fee." The whole thing is a money scam. I met very few people who were regular members and stuck with the exercise plan. In fact I witnessed health crises where people had to break from the class to rest or actually leave the facility only to be called out by the staff and humiliated for taking care of their own health. There is no acknowledgement of fitness and out of shape people are brought into rigorous classes with no regard for health and conditioning. It's a scary health situation that is a disaster in the making. I recommended the staff create leveled classes. For example, beginner to learn the fundamentals, middle to push the exercise, and advanced for the full out program. I was told this is not the place for that and if people couldn't keep up they shouldn't join. But clearly many out of shape people looking for a chance to get back into exercise are signed up with no regard for health and ability to keep up. There is a heart attack waiting at the door of this place. It is not worth it especially because there are many well respected and caring trainers available to work with people for far less the cost than this place. Think before you sign. read more

6 week challenge is a scam. I am a college student that entered the challenge, made some progress but tore my ACL in a skiing accident. They said I would get a partial refund according to the rules, I've messaged about every staff member on Facebook. They all referred me to the manager, who, has not responded to any of my emails since sending me medical forms. Now I am $500 short, one of my biggest regrets. read more

When I signed up, I was told there would be no cancellation fee as long as I cancel 30 days ahead of time. I had to dispute the charges with my credit card company. The business runs like a scam. iLoveKickboxing Kickboxing school PLACE DETAILS Melissa Gallagher I was a ILKB member in another location for 6 years and had a great experience. The trainers were very experienced and professional. I thought I would have very much the same experience in Aurora as ILKB is a franchise. However, I have had the worst experience at this location, I signed their contract under false pretenses. I was told that this facility would keep me safe and was practicing Covid-19 preventative measures. I have been given the runaround from day one of my concerns for my safety. I attended 3 classes and was well within my contract termination timeline. I tried to explain to Bailey, the manger, my concerns as I was never asked screening questions regarding Covid like symptoms, my temperatures was only taken the day I joined. I told Bailey I witnessed her walking directly over the floor she was spraying and that the cubicles for personal belongings were very dirty as well as the bathrooms. The very last class I attended I witnessed Sasha take some temps without a reading on her thermometer. She shrugged it off. Jan was walking around with out his mask on in direct contact with the members taking class, there was NOT 6 feet between him and the members. Despite multiple attempt, I have never spoke to the owners as the staff are vey cagy and refuse to give me contact information. I don't have a name or number as the staff claim they don't know who they are. The staff are very unfriendly and only refer me to Bailey. I spoke to her once. The only correspondence I have had has been via email per ILKB. I don't even know who is responding as I do not have a contact name. I was advised via email to have my physician fill out a MEDICAL INFORMATION REQUEST, my doctor filled out the paperwork twice at ILKB request. I meet any and all of the requirements for terminating the contract. However they have always been denied. I tried to contact the corporate office in New York several times without success as their offices are "temporary closed". I am being treated unfairly. I want my contract terminated and a full refund. I sent my keychain barcode card as well as the wrist monitor back a month ago. I told Bailey I would gladly pay for the gloves as I did wear them 3 times. This situation has been ongoing since September 2020 and has caused me great despair. The owner(s) have never contacted me and that is not acceptable. ILKB Aurora is a very unprofessional and unsafe facility. read more

I've learned to wait to review workout facilities until after I have gone consistently for a few weeks because I tend to fall in and out of love so quickly. Well, my probation period is officially over, and I am ready to give my review: I first saw this spot on Facebook and my interested was piqued. I signed up for the web deal and received 5 classes plus free gloves for $15 using a promo code, I called to schedule by first class and was immediately put at ease by an energized, friendly instructor named Mariah. She talked me through what to bring to my first class, and I was good to go. I wouldn't describe myself as particularly athletic, so I tend to get anxious trying something new - what if I'm the fattest person there? Or the slowest? Or the oldest? Holy self-doubt! Luckily I got over myself and showed up for my first class ready to go. I got a quick tour of the studio, got my wraps and gloves and waited for class to start. I immediately noticed how clean the studio is, I have worked out at places where I feared getting a fungus or virus based on how nasty the equipment was, ahem HH Boot camp, but the floor, locker room, and equipment were spotless, it even smells clean, no small feat for a space that is consistently filled with sweaty bodies! Class started with 15 minutes of conditioning, an ensemble of running, burpees, pushups, and various forms of torture that got my heart rate up and pumping. I could have left after 15 minutes and felt like I got a kickass workout, but I stayed. We stretched, and then moved into 5 or 6 rounds of different punch/kick combos. I have done a little kickboxing before at a studio down the road, and I never felt like I got the right form down. That's not so here! The instructors work with you to ensure proper form and technique, I appreciate this as I'm prone to injuring myself, and they do it in a way that is motivating without making you feel like an idiot. After the 30 minutes or so of boxing is up, we did some more conditioning, core work, and final stretching. For me, this spot is perfection! The owners are kind and helpful, the workout is comprehensive and I already see a difference in my body, the facility is sparkling clean, and the class times work with my schedule. Hands down the best part of this studio are the Instructors. They engage you, motivate you and push you past your limits without making you feel like you're pathetic. They have a passion for fitness that is contagious, and most importantly they foster a culture that is welcoming and supportive. I have been to enough places where I feel like people are competing with each other, and shooting dirty looks nonstop, where you just feel uncomfortable, and this is the complete opposite. This is the best place to tone and get fit!!! Everyone is always pumped up and will not let you sit on your butt for even a second. I have never sweat so much as much as I do in this class! Every class had a different routine and different instructor. Each instructor is unique and very helpful. They teach you the correct forms so you do not hurt yourself. I try to not miss even one day and get very excited to go there! Every class has at least 2-3 instructors. You will never get bored! They will never let you get bored! Plus everyone that joins is very sweet and you get to make friends who also love kickboxing! I would recommend everyone to join who wants to get into shape or just loves kickboxing!!! It takes a lot for me to give one star but considering I'm being scammed this place deserves it. I'm currently trying to cancel my membership because of some health issues I'm struggling with. I emailed an instructor asking what I should do and she directed me to a different email. It was the same instructor. Then after emailing back and forth over the course of two weeks she finally tells me I can cancel by paying a $195 fee plus one more month as well as having a doctor form filled out validating my health problems. I was reading the form and decided to look up two associations noted in the form. The one that my form will be submitted to for "authentication" doesn't exist, and the other that states it will prosecute any false claims is actually Canadian alternative medicine group. read more

Today was my first class at Aurora's I love kickboxing! I absolutely loved every brutal minute of it! Hurts so good! Haha the instructors are wicked friendly, personable, energetic and very talented! You start with warming up then stretch it out for the fun stuff, beating the crap out of that bag! Followed by some partner stuff at the end then one final stretch and before you know it, your hour is up! I left sweaty, tired, but totally worked out! I signed up for the 12 month program! The price when u break it down is very fair, let's think about it, it's about 127 a month for unlimited classes and working with staff who talk to u about nutrition and helping you meet your goals and pushing into ur furthest! As opposed to going to let's say Xsport, getting your gym membership then signing up for a trainer u see when u can and let's face it, ur really drawing the dice when it comes to getting a good trainer, and with all that I was spending well over 300 a month! That's just crazy! I'm very pleased with investing in my health and taking a super fun kickboxing class! I made a great choice! Very highly recommended! :-) read more

They are so desperate to not lose customers and to take my money that they will not allow me to cancel my membership due to my doctor not including the length of time my injury would restrict me. I joined the Aurora location in mid April 2016. Since joining I have lost 18 pounds in about 6-7 weeks. I feel better and stronger. The classes kick my ass every time but they are fun. Glad I joined! The problem for me is getting there as much as I would like and fitting classes around my busy work schedule and child's athletic programs. Extremely disappointed. This particular location started off great then became a complete unorganized mess. I went in for a 10-day free pass they had going on. They contacted me through text, confirmed days, times and location with me. I went in on Monday and found out the class time they confirmed with me was wrong so I was 10 minutes "late". Embarrassing. Then the next day, I texted the number to confirm a second class for later that evening. I received numerous confirmation texts about my class time. I showed up and again found out the class had already started 10 minutes prior... then the man at the front desk proceeded to tell me I was not allowed to participate there since I had previously partook in a trial run 2 years ago.. First off, I was the one contacted and invited. He had a clipboard written with my name and circled and was given instruction not to let me kickbox.. I was not only embarrassed but also very annoyed that I took time out of my schedule to plan my day around this class. He told me I was sent many emails saying that I couldn't participate.. that was a lie. I never received a single email (nothing was in my junk mailbox either). I don't understand how a company could be that unorganized and rude. I was the one invited to participate in the first place!!! I have many text screenshots to prove their scam. I will be telling everyone I know about this place and not to waste their time or money here. Terrible! read more

I haven't even been to this business and am frustrated...I expressed interest in the 6 week challenge and tried to communicate over text after signing up regarding me not being able to start this challenge until July due to my schedule (full time employment and school). I reached out via text because that's how I was originally reached out to, and due to me working full time in a hospital, it's very hard for me to talk on the phone during the day. I never got a response regarding my question and the last text I received from them was saying the spots were full for the challenge. Fine, I left it alone after that. I just received 2 phone calls back to back with no voicemail left. I was driving and couldn't answer. After the THIRD call in a row I became scared it was someone calling me with an emergency or something of that nature. It was one of the reps calling to try to talk to Me about signing up. I have worked for gyms in the past (former trainer) and calling someone 3 times back to back until they answer and not leaving a message is not appropriate by any means! Not professional! I was so nervous to start my first class. However, all the trainers at ILKB Aurora were AMAZING. I'm in fairly good shape, and these classes kick my butt! I LOVE how all the classes are different depending on the instructor (some focus more on core, others on arms, and others on legs). It's an amazing feeling toning up while having FUN. I LOVE how it's a "family" here and not just a class to attend. I have a VERY hard time losing weight due to an illness and within the first couple of sessions I noticed a change in my body. 5/5 stars. I was 100 lbs overweight and did a lot to lose that weight, I have been stuck in a plateau for the past 2 years now and need to lose an extra bit of weight. I knew I had to do something different. I saw a deal to get a few kickboxing classes and at the time I was pumped and it sounded very bad ass so i purchased it, then i somehow skipped over going in for about 2 months from the date it opened. I was intimidated to start but somehow built up some courage and went in. I was greeted by very friendly faces. The thing that amazed me was that the people working there, the trainers and desk staff, were not the only ones who greeted me with such warmth, it was the fellow students that made me feel at home on my first day there. I was standing alone on the mats and students approached me and talked to me. They told me what to expect on my first day but also told me that it would keep me coming back for more. I sat down and talked about my goals with one of the instructors, Mariah, who is awesome! She walked me through everything that I needed to know that first day. I know even now when I do something fun and amazing she is proud! Its hard to pick just one good thing about this place, so i'll pick 3. Firstly, Friendly environment, this makes me come back even when Im having a bad day, I want to see my ILKB family, which consists of everyone in the building at that time! It is the best workout one can have, hands down. The first day, I could barely get through the warm up and as the days go on, I can feel myself getting stronger and completing better reps of every exercise, every front kick, jab, cross, roundhouse, etc. Lastly, the support from the instructors and even classmates is priceless. When I could not complete my warmup on my first day of class, an instructor sat with me and told me it was going to get better and I will feel myself getting stronger. After completing my 5 day trial membership, I had no doubt I was ready to join. I have been attending classes for a little over a month now and I feel stronger than I ever have, My body is changing and that motivates me to continue coming back.
