I never take the time to write reviews but I'm writing this quick one just because the owner of this smoke shop is SO awful. The kid that works at this place is alright, but just the fact that the money I'm spending is going to the god awful owner of this place, I will never go back. I used to go to this place all the time, because they have decent prices and always had the bangers and drop down pieces I buy, for a good price. They also have fair prices on their bongs. But on two separate occasions, the owner here has proven himself unworthy of even the worst customer. I'd like to point out that I have spent thousands of dollars here, and the owner knew that. First time, brought my girlfriend in to buy a bong. We asked to see a couple, which seems reasonable, seeing as how she's spending 2-$300 on a piece. After the second one we asked to see (he huffed and puffed about the first two) he yelled at us that we could not see or touch anymore of them and if we wanted one we should just pick it, pay for it, and leave. I couldn't believe it. This is after I introduced my girlfriend to him and mentioned it was her first time there and she was there to spend money. On the second occasion, my friend was looking for a plate with Rick and Morty on it. I knew they had a bunch there, so we went there to get one. Well, they're all stacked, so you can't see the designs on them and they're behind the counter. My friend was asking to see the designs because her son wanted a certain character and he yelled at her absolutely not, if she wanted one she should just pay for whatever one he grabs and then - get this - told us he was going to call the cops on us. Wtf! Call the cops on us?!? For asking to see his merchandise and choose which one we wanted? Insane! Anyway, screw this place and screw the owner. I truly hope no one ever goes there again, as this guy is unapologetic about his behavior and clearly doesn't care if he ever get another customer. Rant over. read more

I always come to this smoke shop they have great prices, which is why I always go. This is the first time I've had an issue with the older guy that works there and I won't be back. I bought two disposable vapes and when one finished I opened the other one. The second one never hit and so I tried to charge it. When I tried to charge it there was a short/ and started making all types of sounds and it still wouldn't charge. Anyway I go back to the store, they don't have a exchange or return policy. But I explained the situation and this man tried to tell me he has never seen me before and I told him yes you have, I come all the time, showed him receipts and transactions. I try to jog his memory telling him about conversations we have had, I'm in the military and I know they don't give discounts bc they have the best prices etc. He, himself had told me before numerous times, when I tell him I need to try it before I leave "that all there products are good I don't need to try it." This is the first time I didn't try it.."How Funny!" That's on me though, I was in a rush when I bought it. Any way, he gives me the exchange thankfully, but I'm asking him if I can keep the packaging so that I can keep it boxed until I am ready to use it, because I had to by a replacement. He starts yelling and talking over me, I tell him he's being rude and he flips out!! Telling me he's losing money etc.. and I'm like "how, you just told me I can't have the packaging because you have to return it." But overall that's just me experience, good price or not. There is no Illusion to this smoke shop, as it is pretty basic in layout and merchandise. I opted to go here yesterday for an emergency glass pipe purchase. Yes, there is such a thing. Fifteen bucks for a decent, but spectacular-less pipe is not too bad. I could have easily gone somewhere else, but the convenience of it being so close to me won out. They have a slightly above mediocre selection to choose from, but I hear from the Illusion sales associate (who, might I add, was friendly), that the location in Spring Valley is better in terms of selection, but they're running into some legal hooplah. This place has a really nice set up. It seems to be crowded at first but the glass that wraps around the store and separates the cashier from the customer serves as an awesome display for all of the Hookahs and water pipes they have to offer. They have all sorts of brand goodies from trays to pens... sometimes jackets and tons of posters. The customer service has been consistently welcoming for several years. Everyone who works here is good for conversation and questions. Best smoke shop in Spring Valley for sure. read more

I have been in here a few times and its been okay service... i have been helped by a couple cool people but there is one guy (i dont know if he is the owner/manager) but he is a total jerk! he is so rude and unhelpful! i went in to exchange something(i was told this was okay for a specific reason)... I was having a hard time getting the right size for various reasons i went in and he was extremely rude and when i called to let him know id have to come back he just about hung up on me! both on the phone and in person he didnt even try to understand what I was trying to find he just said BRING IT IN. clean it and bring it in. i will not go back there when hes in anymore. read more

Dont come to this smoke shop. I've been here a few times to pick up some supplies and haven't ever had a problem, but I wont spend my money here anymore. I bought some coals from here; they were very shitty-they didn't stay lit and the coals broke apart before i could even smoke , so i brought them back and the mgr/owner tells me "O yeah, those are 2 years old." No wonder they are so shitty. So I ask for an exchange(not a refund) and he tells me "give them to your friends." WTF so your telling me to screw over my friends? I'm glad I'm not his friend. He then proceeds to tells me all he can do is take $2.00 a $17 box of coals if I want. I end up paying for the new ones and tell him to just trash the box(94 coals) because these are garbage and as I walk out he gives them to the next customer before I take 3 steps away from the counter. I dont trust these guys anymore after that and even though they are right up the street from me, I'll drive further to another location to know they wont screw me over. read more

I don't like this head shop at all. They have alot of pieces but at stupidly high prices. The main reason I don't like it is cause when going to pick something up you get this feeling that your not really wanted there. Kinda like a get your shit and get out kinda thing. Poor Illusions! This smoke shop has a pretty good selection of smoking accessories for moderate prices, but the quality of the items is not up to par with other smoke shops in the area. It's laughable that the employees demand customers call bongs 'water pipes', even when no one else is in the store. One female employee in particular is hopelessly lost amongst the glassware. She has no idea what she's talking about and makes rather ridiculous suggestions. She is cute and friendly and harmless enough- just don't take any advice from Illusions' staff. I also had a problem with a hand pipe I purchased there. After using it for several days, I discovered the inside was textured and the crappy quality glass was already chipping. If you want a quality piece for a reasonable price, your best bet it driving to Garnet Avenue in Pacific Beach. read more

So I'm not at all a smoke enthusiast, but as fate would bestow upon me, members of my family are. I came to this small nook of a venue off the 805 to buy a gift for my older brother. What it came down to really was questions and answers. Understandably, I had no knowledge of what to buy, but many questions to be answered. The employee working at the time, I believe his name was Jay, answered any question I threw at him. Getting down to the basics, the shop had more than I was looking for, and answered all questions and more I had. To be unbiased, I can't give this shop a 5 starts because I don't know what a 5 star shop is. I have been a customer of this smoke shop for a little over five years now. It was great when Ramez owned it, but after he sold it, it had gone down hill. The new owner cleaned up the place, raised prices on pieces and and doesn't hook up customers that have been going there for years with deals. I understand it is a new owner, and you need to form a new relationship with them to continue to get the deals, but the new owner is an ass hole. He doesn't listen when you try to explain any issues you have with anything bought there. It seems like he treats male customers better than female customers. I have never been so disappointed in customer service in my life. I will never go back into that smoke shop again, unless someone else takes over and treats their customers how they deserve to be treated. read more

During my recent trip here I had spent about $140 on a new bong just to find out that there was actually a hole in the glass...yes, I said it, a hole...in a bong...I immediately started washing down, and cleaning the bong because I only had it for 2 days, and had planned to bring the thing back. However during the cleaning proscess, I managed to snap the fuse where the bong, and the glass stem connect. A $140 Bong snapped with my bare hands? Week glass maybe? Or maybe no more gym for me? Either or, I took it back because that was just wrong. When I had gone in to take it back (about 3 days after it broke), the first thing they told me was that there was nothing they could do for me. After putting on a little act, and throwing in some signs of frustration. I was finally able to get a wooping %50 off my next purchase. I went in a few days later to claim my deal for %50 anything just to be met with more hassle...The man working there began going over how he was loosing money, and trying to make that an aspect in why he couldn't give me a good deal. I personally had no sympathy for him considering he sold me a product for $140 that lasted no more than 2 days. After 20 minutes of haggling and bartering for my supposed "%50 off" deal...I ended up getting a nice piece for half off, however at the end of the day I felt cheated, taken advantage of, and in the overall I was extremely disappointed In the service I was provided I did not feel very respected as a customer, a loyal customer I should say. I will definitely think twice about bringing my business here again. read more
