It honestly exceeded my expectations as I originally planned on coming in for one drink but left after trying 3 because it was so good. My first drink was the Coffee, God and Cigarettes. This drink offered a well-balanced blend of bitter and sweet notes, both light and flavorful. The tobacco finish is present but not overpowering, making for a very enjoyable overall experience. The 2nd drink I got was the old fashioned.... Which was made with both whiskey and rum in it which left me a bit nervous to actually order it. But don't let the rum fool you, this is a classic-tasting delicious Old Fashioned. Ironically, the rum has more traditional whiskey character than their white whiskey (which tastes like scotch). If you like Old Fashioneds, you'll find this version delicious. I finished with the Serrano Cucumber Gimlet. It features a fresh cucumber essence and a well-balanced, subtle heat. A unique and excellent twist on the classic. All the in house spirits were great, Cameron the bartender on shift was able to answer any and all questions I had, the drinks were great and the atmosphere was wonderful. The speakeasy is tucked into the underground portion of the restaurant, which adds to the charm. The space is beautifully decorated, moody, intimate, and effortlessly upscale. It truly sets the tone the moment you walk down. We ordered two spritzes and a charcuterie board, and both exceeded expectations. The drinks were refreshing, perfectly balanced, and felt elevated without being overcomplicated. But the real star was the charcuterie board. For $20, it was an incredible value, stacked with a variety of meats, cheeses, fresh veggies, nuts, and peppers. The freshly grilled bread was a standout touch, and the portions were more than generous. Every bite felt thoughtfully curated, and there was something new and delicious in every corner of the board. Between the ambiance, the quality of the drinks, and the impressive food, Dearly Departed delivered an experience that felt both cozy and refined.
