Service was another highlight--Jesse at the front desk was welcoming, polished, and genuinely helpful upon our arrival, setting a great tone for the stay. I was told our room had been upgraded to a junior suite, though aside from a decorative couch and slightly more space, it wasn't entirely clear what differentiated it from a standard room. That said, the room itself was comfortable and well-appointed. Compared to the JW Marriott the night before, the bed here was noticeably more comfortable, and the bathroom was refreshingly problem-free--good water pressure, a functional shower, and no missing amenities. We also had dinner at Mico Restaurant, which was excellent and deserving of its own separate Yelp review. Overall, the Grand Bohemian provided exactly what I was hoping for on an unexpected extra night in Charlotte: a stylish environment, attentive service, and a comfortable stay that made travel delays a bit easier to tolerate.

There are a couple of very friendly animals roaming around the farm area and the people who work there are really nice and informative. A Civil War Infantry demonstration was going on the day we went, that was neat, got to learn about how the Confederate infantry lived and operated. Great place to take the kids or people who like Civil War Era history. Admission is $6 for adults and $5 with student ID.

They provide the option to valet, but since the hotel is on a corner it's hard to get in there when other cars are coming from both directions and the parking garage is confusing as well. They do let you pay for parking when you check in which is cheaper than what the garage charges which was great to note. The hotel has an old feeling when you walk in. A bar on the first floor and restaurant which I enjoyed for breakfast only. In the room, I would have enjoyed to have more accessible outlets for my devices. Many hotels have lamps that have usb plug ins and that would have been helpful. And in the morning, I didn't find out about the water heater breaking until I went to breakfast so I couldn't take a hot shower. They did provide a discount for those reasons which I found helpful.
